Traditional food spot, cozy, and in a high traffic area.
1st course:
Bruschetta al Pomodoro (Tuscan toasted bread with tomato) was simply made and good.
Ribollita (Tuscan soup with mixed vegetables)- this was a hearty vegetarian soup. Heard it was a must try and it didn't disappoint. It was bubbling when it came out.
2nd course:
Hubs got the Pollo al Limone con verdure miste (Lemon Chicken with mixed vegetables) when the chicken and veggies came out, you could smell the garlic. That lemon chicken was the best I've ever had. Hit the sense of smell and taste as soon as it came out and into my mouth. Omg! I low key wanted to steal his plate.
I got the Risotto con spinaci e gorgazola (Risotto with spinach and Gorgonzola cheese) this was so creamy. That was eye roll good. Especially when I was able to add a little bit of Parmesan cheese which added another dimension.
Last, we got the, OMG, dolce. Tartuforo Nero (Black truffle icecream.) It had the creamiest texture and rich chocolatety flavor. I normally react to icecream but not this one. I'm so glad we ventured out and found this spot.
The service: we were given a menu without asking (I think the custom here is to ask). We got a coke and still water (Acqua naturale). The people who waited on us knew little English and we knew little Italian. So I tried my best with google translate (Italian downloaded, was a life saver). Then a local showed up and made me feel like we picked a good spot. All in all it is a must try. Get some local and must have Italian food. read more
