Sometimes you just want a decent meal at a decent price. That's what you'll get if you eat at La Fiesta. There's nothing that stands out, and that's ok. I ordered the giant burrito with ranchero chicken and it passed the taste test. The salsa and chips were ok too. I suspect if I ordered anything else, it would be a fine meal as well. If there was a downside, it was the summer flies and the dated decor, but that's picking nits. If you go to La Fiesta, you'll get a decent meal at a decent price. Sometimes that is enough. read more

Our service was average. My boyfriend ordered an enchilada plate, average. I ordered steak fajitas & it was almost inedible. White queso was the best part of the meal along with the tasty strong frozen margaritas!! read more

Today was my first and last time eating here. I ordered a full order of steak fajita nachos and received a half order. Our waitress returned with a full order and it was basically taco shells cut in half with very dried cheese and pieces of fajita meat. I love the environment and vibe of La Fiesta, the staff is very attentive and the speed of service is pretty good! I love going especially for their infamous Purple Margs. Their Brisket Tacos are extremely greasy (see picture) the presentation was good however I couldn't really taste the brisket and topping because the grease over powered everything. Locally owned by a great family! Missing the opportunity to sit inside and eat lunches for dinner while we are all currently under a shelter in place we still are able to enjoy take out! I was curious if this La Fiesta was still as good as it was when I was in college. Sadly to say, it was not. The food was bland and there was very little to be desired by its presentation. My biggest complaint is our booth where my party sat. Just, shortly after our food arrived the next booth was seated. One of the guests, a man in his 60's, began to impersonate Donald Duck (I kid you not ! ). He was loud and obnoxious. He went on and on and on. It ruined our lunch !! Why was that booth seated next to us when there were 20 other booths available in an almost completely empty place ? As I left, I asked the hostess that exact question. Best place to go with friends. Great drinks, amazing tortillas, and delicious queso! Add white queso on top of your favorite entree and you will be glad you did. I am a vegetarian and I order the black beans instead of refried and orange cilantro rice instead of the traditional. Avocado enchiladas, fried avocados, and the white queso are all a "must try." It turns out that Friday night is the big night out in Waco and virtually everyplace in town has a long wait. Some local friends recommended La Fiesta as an option. After eventually finding parking, we had a short wait and then got our seats. Here's the positives. The service is excellent. Our drinks stayed filled. We never ran out of chips. And our server recognized the one error on our order and took it back before we could even say a word. Extra bonus points for the individual servings of salsa and the menu with create your own combinations. The food itself? It's an "ok" interpretation of Tex-Mex. I've had much worse and I've had much better. But it's a good option for beating the restaurant rush on a Friday night in Waco. read more

This is the go-to Mexican restaurant in Waco for a reason! Their iconic purple margaritas are a must try, however their other flavors are great too. Every dish I've had here I've loved. Fajitas are great, quesadillas perfect, and the stuffed avocado is the best thing on the whole menu. If you go on a weekend you'll most likely have a bit of a wait, but they are good about getting large parties seated as quick as they can. read more

I have not been to La Fiesta in awhile. It was the go-to of someone in my family who passed away a few years back, so I Have not been as often as we went in the past, but I have been many, many times throughout the years, and the food is always good, always pretty quick, and always what you expect, consistent, with generous servings. I like the chicken enchiladas and the queso and chips, although I have tried a number of other dishes and enjoyed them all. When I was much younger we would go for the margaritas and queso and chips and meet up with friends. Visited from out of town. We were looking for somewhere that accommodated dogs. This place fit the bill perfectly. My wife and kids entered the patio and a waiter graciously seated them while I checked in with the hostess at the front, who also graciously accommodated me. It was a busy Saturday night but we didn't feel rushed or that service was lacking. The waiter even offered a bowl of ice water for our dog. Food was very fresh and tasted great. Management heard it was our first visit and greeted us at the table with a complimentary dessert. There was even a live band on the patio. We used to love eating at LaFiesta and would literally drive over an hour to eat there. However, now that we live in the Waco area, we have been disappointed. The chips have changed the last couple of years (due to their supplier's building burning - is what we were told, however), but the ones they have replaced them with taste like bagged Doritos. The food just doesn't taste as flavorful as it used to, especially the fajita meat and the salsa is more runny the last couple times we've been. read more
