I got hungry this afternoon and really wanted fried clams. I looked around for a place that was close to where we lived and the closest place was Geno's Pizza in Granby. That's how I ended up with this review. For about $17 I got the large pepperoni pizza, which is a fairly common price these days and the pizza is crust is thin, New York style, with a savory sauce and fairly good cheese coverage. Overall, I would say the pizza was about three stars. I tried their french fries for another five dollars. Again, not entirely remarkable, but not bad. What about the fried clams? Well it appears as though the business had a busy weekend last weekend, and they ran out of all of their fish and seafood. Tomorrow is another day when I will find fried clams. read more

We ordered a steak and cheese grinder, small pizza onion rings and ravioli. They called back saying that there was no ravioli even thought it was on the menu. The food arrived late and the "grinder" had one half slice of deli steak. This is hardly what I would call a sandwich. For over $50 plus a tip I would NEVER waste it on this ever again. When I tried to call to figure this out they would not answer the phone. It's almost as they knew they screwed us over. I would recommend anyone considering this service to go to J&G. Much more in tune with what good quality should be. read more

I have tried drinking Scotch to get the flavor out of my mouth to no avail. I would rather drink from the bathroom at Taco Bell before ordering from here again. Update 12/15/24: We tried Geno's again, anyone can have a bad night, but my previous review stands. To begin with and to answer the driver's question, no I don't like to trash a small business but you are doing that for yourself. To confront a customer over a poor review is unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. Finally the food. My cheese pizza had a paper thin crust that was burnt and the toppings weren't any better. Pizza was pretty good but not a big fan of the crust. It's very dry/hard for my taste. Other food we've had from them is good!

We have another favorite meal from Gino's, eggplant Parmesan! I am an eggplant Parmesan connoisseur; I try it at least once at most places that offer it. There are very few places I will order it from and right now Geno's is right up there with Max A Mia's and J&G's! I'm already looking forward to ordering it again. The dish comes with your choice 4 pasta shapes that usually comes with marinara sauce (I asked for butter and parm). Also worth mentioning, the pasta was incredibly perfectly cooked, and the rolls were fluffy and fresh. Also comes with a salad. The portion is so generous we had 2 meals from it. read more

We ordered the meat, lovers pizza, and the eggplant Parm pizza. Both are very good. We also got a Caesar salad. Like many restaurants the salad is not made there. We were given packets. I felt like the overall rating of this restaurant was misleading since most of the bad reviews were about delivery not actually about the food itself. I would definitely eat here again no problem. ordered two specialty pizzas, one veggie on meat lovers. cost over 70 bucks on slice.com veggie pizza: hard thin crust over sauced, and hard to chew. veggies ok but very little to no cheese. meat lovers: missing ham burger and bacon. also over cooked thin crusts with to much sauce. same little to no cheese. over all not good, and hiping we dont spend night in bathroom. save yourself money store bought frozen pizza's are cheaper and better. read more

Terrible. Hardly any cheese on the pizzas. Wrong toppings for mine and my grandson's. He couldn't eat his due to being allergic to mushrooms. They were not supposed to be on there. The rest of the family didn't like it either. It was boring, crust was like cardboard. read more

This was the worst experience we've had since we moved to this area. Delivery took forever and when we did get it, it was extremely greasy...I've never seen a deep fried Stromboli or a Stromboli with ricotta....I couldn't even eat it it was so disgusting. I ordered 2 tuna subs and a garden salad ,no olives & house dressing, the cost was $35.00. I got a extremely thin smear of tuna, only bread and veggies in some areas. The salad had olives on it, and the "house dressing was a packet of Ken's Italian. I called @ 9:09 to fix the problem, they didn't answer There phone, even though their hours are until 9:30. If I could 'not recommend' I would. The service is awful. I'm not sure who I spoke with, a manager or owner? But after asking where our 90 minute and counting, order was.. (called at 60 and 90 min) that was supposed to be delivered 1 mile away within 26 min... he had the nerve to hang up on me... twice! Awful experience. read more

The pizza is pretty good, the closest to New York pizza in the area. But the operation is a mess. Delivery times are insane. If you order early--say, order at 2:30 for 6:00 delivery--you'll be lucky if it's 15 minutes late. Forty minutes late isn't that uncommon. Ordering for pickup isn't necessarily reliable either. Would be four-plus stars if they got their delivery logistics fixed. read more

I have been ordering and eating food from this place for over 20 years. Today I ordered the chicken parmigiana grinder. The chicken was very dry, and there wasn't a lot of cheese, which was surprising since I had ordered extra cheese in the form of both provolone and mozzarella. The sauce was rather bland. I ate all of it since it took almost an hour for my order to come. This is the second time in a row that the grinder that I have ordered was not as good as they had been in the past. It has become very hard to get a great Italian grinder in the Granby, CT. May the future be better food for all. read more

Ordered pizza today as a last minute thing since I haven't had power in almost 2 days and all other pizza places were closed. Ordered at 8pm was told it would be delivered in 40/45 mins and they ended up coming at 9:25pm. I called at 9pm to check on my order and they answered the phone with "hello Geno's pizza were closed" I asked where my order was and she said they were on their way with it they'll be here any minute. 15 mins pass by and I get a call from the same girl that told me the delivery driver was on their way saying she can't find my house. I stood outside for her and she finally came to bring my food at 9:30 I wasn't even hungry anymore just aggravated and wanted to go to bed. She was very nice and she did throw in 2 free cheesecakes though. I opened up the boxes and found my appetizer sampler scattered all over the place- good was definitely store bought frozen. Pizza was okay though. Cheesecake was frozen solid. At once slice of pizza and a chicken tender then went to bed. Paid $32 for a medium pizza and the appetizer sampler way over priced but when you have no power to cook you have no choice. read more

Ordered from Geno's for the first time last night. We had a few choices through slicelife app and decided to give them a shot because they offered free delivery. We got a small pizza, chicken tenders, chicken cutlet grinder, and a "cobb salad". Teens said the pizza was good but the chicken tenders and cutlet tasted like their fryer oil was way overdue to be changed. "Cobb Salad" was mixed greens with black olives, fried chicken tenders, cucumbers, bacon, and shredded mozzarella cheese. Bacon is the only one of those toppings that belongs on a cobb salad, so I'm really not sure if they sent the wrong thing or have no idea what a cobb salad is. Pizza is *good* and I would order again, but I walked in and none of their employees were wearing masks. I ended up calling and asking to speak with a manager to explain my concern and he replied that it was "too hot" for masks. Hopefully, they will invest in an air conditioner to protect their employees and future patrons. read more

I'm not exactly sure where some of the other reviews come from. We have ordered multiple times, and it's been great every time. The pizza is amazing, even as a leftover, and delivery is fast. My favorite crust anywhere in Granby. The pizza can compete with Pepe's in New Haven, no question. We highly recommend this place! read more
