This place is a dump! Tables and boothes in bad repair. Place felt and looked dirty. Food was mediocre at best. May have seemed worse because of enviroment making you wonder if it was full of health code violations. read more

La Finca is okay at best. They're always overcrowded due to small dining areas and even though there looks to be 30 people on staff, the service is never very fast. The food is alright if you're into Tex Mex, but for a better experience in Gilmer try Las Fuentes on the square instead. read more

Chips were crisp and hot, salsa was fresh, cheese nachos were awesome. Service was good and prices are reasonable. Great experience.

Great food if need extra heat ask for brown sauce. Have been eating here for years. Very accommodating to vegetarians. Always crowded but moves quick. Our favorite Mexican food hands down. read more

This has been a local favorite for years. They have just opened a new building directly in front of the old one. It is drop-dead gorgeous inside. Contemporary and upscale feeling. Food was great. They even serve it on new dishes and the plating is nice. In addition, there are new menu items, most notably some healthy items like fish. While they have the typical enchiladas, etc., there are also options not typically found in a Tex Mex restaurant. I've been told their margaritas are excellent. I'm not sure but I don't think they had alcohol in the other building. Try this one out You won't be disappointed. read more

La Finca is a great example of good Mexican food. I frequent this establishment, and the service has always been excellent and the food, good. I try to be fair when giving reviews and it would have to be extremely awful to get 1 star from me and extremely awesome to get 5. To the guy that felt the need to give this place a 1 star review and blame the good reviews on people just not getting out much.... I call b.s... We had an interesting experience tonight in La Finca. My family and I had already received our food when a couple (man and woman) began to complain about a $2.50 surcharge for splitting an entree. The man got louder and louder, asking to speak with the owner. He kept saying, "I have eaten here for 15yrs- sometimes twice a week, and I've never paid and NEVER WILL PAY an extra charge." When the manager told him the owner wasn't in the building, he began to cuss- using the F-bomb- really making a spectacle for 3 or 4 other tables to witness. He embarrassed the wait staff and manager. They called the owner on the phone and allowed the man to speak to him. The owner, Homero, appeared in the restaurant about ten min later. He immediately approached the man and said very specifically, "I will absolutely comp your meal, or take off the $2.50, but you will never come in to my restaurant and verbally assault my staff or my other customers. It is extremely disrespectful that you would say those words in front of women and children. You will not be welcomed back here if this continues." That owner put his customers in front of making money. I was pleasantly surprised. We love La Finca even more now! Way to go, Homero! read more

We love going to La Finca but the last two times (about 5 weeks apart) the margarita machine has been deafening.. our servers said the management won't have it repaired!! We refused to sit in the bar area tonight.. I will call before we go again to see if it has been repaired.. We refuse to drive 35 minuets one way and will go to another Mexican restaurant if it hasn't been fixed read more

This place is pretty bad. It has gone down hill in recent years but it it making a little bit of a comeback. The bathrooms are dirty and the food is mediocre. Also, the drinks are a little watered down, especially the water. read more

This is a nice place to eat with the family after a good Sunday morning service! It's relatively clean, but it does take a long time to get seated sometimes. But the food is really good. I've never been in the bathrooms before so I couldn't tell you how clean they are but it's a pretty nice place to hang out. But sometimes if you order to go, they get your order terribly wrong. read more

Great food with mediocre customer service. I had the fajitas and they were flavorful and filling. The customer service however can be better if the waitresses were a little more attentive. Food ok, lots of wait staff but just so neglectful not only our table but those around us. New building brought oriental/ modern decor with big square plates and smaller portions. Ordered beef enchiladas- never again no taste & layered meat cheese dip in skillet was all flavorless glumpy cheese, impossible to eat. Cute new building though, much cleaner. read more

I have loved this restaurant every since I was just a little kid! The food has always been amazing and super good! I don't think there is any other Mexican Restaurant that could beat La Finca! I spent my 1st Mother's Day there in the new building and loved then atmosphere but the free dessert was wonderful too! Totally didn't expect that! read more

Well let's just start out by saying how they tried over charging us over the phone. We ordered 2 lunch specials and the lady was saying that what my fiancé picked as going to be $14.99 alone when we were sitting here at home looking at a menu where it says $8.99 anyways we got that straightened out but when we got home with our order and started to enjoy our meal. There was a hair in our green sauce which we like pouring on our rice and burritos. So now our meals were tainted with someone's hair and I had called to ask for a refund of my money. They told me since the hair was in the green sauce and not originally in our plates she wouldn't get us a refund. I mentioned to her that we poured the sauce on our food that's when we found the hair, and she says we have to bring the good back "untouched" to get a refund. Didn't matter that we were already half way done eating when we improved the hair. So big round of applause to the service at this establishment. Disgusting! read more

La Finca has very good Tex-Mex food and, although sometimes the service is slow, all you have to do is point it out and suddenly they shift gears. This is one of the best places to eat in Gilmer and the prices are not over the top like the other Mexican food place in town. I love their fajita chicken nachos. That is often my main meal. Because of their willingness to comply if you point out that you've been waiting for another round of chips, or whatever; I go ahead and give them 5 stars. Also, think about it. If the complaint is this place is always busy, there MUST be a reason! read more
