    Pasta with shrimp
    Anthony V.

I came about a month ago. This place is very fancy so expect the food to be on the pricier side and smaller portions. Pretty authentic Italian food, I would strongly recommend ordering their pasta seafood dishes. I ordered some and they taste much better than ordering just fish/steak entrees which I found to be a little dry and under seasoned. The pasta dishes are just very well seasoned and fresh/homemade! The waiters are extremely accommodating and attentive. They're constantly checking up on us and always giving their recommendations. And the vibes inside are very nice because there was a person playing live piano and inviting customers to come up and sing some Christmas songs.

When you hear Andrea Bocelli, you know the food finna be bussin' Came here a second time and it didn't disappoint. No Tony, but the service was excellent. I love lasagna. Still too dark to take decent photos, but whatever--I'm here to grub!

This place was such a pleasant surprise to find and dine at! It's in the middle of a grocery plaza / strip mall with a few other stores. We came for an early dinner and it was already filling up with other tables. They have a nice selection of Italian pastas and other dishes. We went with sharing two pastas that were both amazing! The place definitely feels like it's been around for a while but has that old school, fancy Italian restaurant charm.

This is it hidden Jewel in Moraga, California! I've been coming to this restaurant over 18 years originally in Lafayette, CA New location in Moraga is even more authentic Tony, who has been with the company for many years will give you the best Service and make you like family Owner/chef (Jeff) grew up in the industry is one of the best chef/owners of one best Italian restaurant in bay area Friday or Saturday nights they have piano playing

We like the Italian restaurant near the Moraga movie theater but we thought we'll give this a try. The seating was much more comfortable and spacious. The waiter was attentive and humorous (a great way to start). We started off with jumbo prawns and they were delicious, (couldn't help but dipped the bread in the sauce). For the main dishes, we had halibut special, veal and fettuccine alla puttanesca. Needless to say, we 'licked' our plates, no joke. Veal was tender; halibut was cooked to perfection; fettuccine was topped with diced salmon, calamari and prawns. They are not stingy on those! That's for sure . Of course there's always room for dessert even though our bellies were full. Affogato and chocolate cake completed our meal. The only thing that took us surprise was the 3.5% charge when paying with a credit card. Guess we missed the sign at the front podium. Other than that, it was a pleasant surprise to find another great Italian restaurant.

Looking for an in-between spot (a sip and bite before dinner), we cozied up to the bar here for a quick cocktail and bar food snack. We ordered onion rings that came with the choice of a variety of sauces including Tikka Sauce, Siracha Mango, Sweet Chili, Korean BBQ, Hot Honey, and more. Both the cocktails and snacks came timely, and we enjoyed conversation and community chatting with other locals/tourists visiting Berkeley for a short time. The vibes are right in Tipsea and I dig the nautical ambiance/theme/play on words. Worthy of a stop through; street parking on Shattuck/paid garages nearby, but ride-share sometimes easiest for these locations. After being ambitious for three minutes to find parking, I parked across the street on Durant. My friend and I arrived, were greeted and seated ourselves in one of the booths. Looking at the drink menu we asked for recommendations - I got Lightkeeper's Daughter, which has a nice citrusy taste. Side note but I love when they give us crushed small balls of ice. My friend ordered the Green Lantern, which was very good. I think the fresh Fiji apple juice inside is what made this drink stand out, though it didn't have the slight cider taste that you get from fresh apple juice. It was just good. Drinks get a 5/5. I ordered the truffle burger and good gawd was it delicious. I'd definitely order again. It comes with fries, and I upgraded to the Cajun fries they had. Lemme get back to the burger - I'm not a person who goes crazy for burgers but sometimes I just have that craving for red meat. This burger did not disappoint - the mushrooms were made perfectly and were in each bite of the burger with nothing falling off - you know how sometimes the burger is too stuffed and ingredients start to come off? Not here. 10/5 for the burger. It just might be the best burger I've ever had, no exaggeration. Considering this bar markets themselves as the best bar in Berkeley and I had a really good experience, I'd like to come back and try other drinks and other items off of the menu. I never expected to be wowed by the burger here, but as a fan of truffle I was glad this was on the menu. They have NA beverages and I was tempted to try, especially since my astrological sign is the name of one of the mocktails, but here is my issue. Why are we having NA beverages cost the same as alcohol beverages? It just seems like a rip to me, no matter how well you craft us some juice. Just my opinion, but it's nice they offer NA beverages since more and more people are letting go of the liquor. However, my point still stands. $15 is nuts to me. Have I spent that before at another restaurant/bar before? Sure have, when I wasn't drinking and I've decided that I'd rather opt for water or a Topo Chico if offered. The ambiance here was mellow. Very dark inside so I didn't get great pics of the menu, but the pic of the burger? Good and necessary.

I remember old tiki bars back in the day in the 50s when I first remembered hearing about him and the 60s when they were still popular. But as time went on and people change, they kind of disappeared, but this one popped up. And I'm so glad it did because it brought back fond memories of what it used to be. When you walk into the place, it's unlike anybody you're gonna walk into there are one dollar bill stuck to every square inch of the ceiling. Smoking is only allowed outside, so the room was pretty clear because as you walk in it is small, but there's plenty of room at the bar and there are a couple little hutches that you can sit in as well as an area around the corner, but the big surprise is outside. When we walked outside, there was like a 10 foot tiki head out there and it was a flash throwback to the old days. It was so much fun to see. The bar serves drinks that are long forgotten and most bars, and they served them with flair. Everybody from the minute I walked in the front door was awesome. They were smiling, attentive, helpful, and making sure that you got exactly what you wanted and the perfect experience. I even had a moment to talk to the owner and tell him how impressed I was by the staff and the fun that the place brought. I would say I will absolutely be glad to return to this place anytime. The quality that drinks is absolutely five star. The flavors were spot on. And the throwback atmosphere was perfect. I strongly recommended for anybody that wants to go out for an evening of fun and frolic. When they close the back where the outdoor seating is a little bit earlier than the regular bar hours it does get a bit crowded on the inside because so many people are there that you didn't see originally. But that didn't change it. We still had maximum fun.

It's mainly cans I think. For some reason, SMC only serves Pepsi and not Coca Cola, but that's campus wide - the dining hall, the cafe, and vending machines never have Coca Cola. I usually buy cans or Mexican glass bottles off campus and keep them in my mini fridge in my dorm (I currently live in the upper suites, Ageno Hall). I'm team Coca Cola over Pepsi, any day! It's funny because the dining hall (Oliver Hall) has Pepsi in the soda fountain, the cafe and vending machines have bottles, and this pub has cans! Hours are severely limited due to the pandemic. Currently I think they are only open on Thursdays. But it's a vibe and it's very good that the institution allows drinking on campus, meaning that people can get wasted and walk back to their dorm as opposed to driving home!
