Quite an interesting experience here last night. The lounge is stunning. Beautiful. Classy. Very well built and the details were there. However, the patrons did not exactly have the class to match. When I go to a lounge I'm more expecting date night, softer music, relaxed vibe. Nope - not last night. The sweet bartender was using every last breath shouting across the lounge for people to get their drinks from the bar. Guests, grown adults, acting like the children you see at Calicraft that we all try to get away from. People stumbling and screaming. It was extremely loud and felt more like a rowdy bar. I really hope this was a one off night for this kind of crowd because it would be nice to have a beautiful, lowkey, quieeet, lounge as there are not many in the direct area. Dim lighting and good playlist with soft R&B so you can still have a conversation. Most patrons seemed to be couples or on dates- kinda romantic!! Later a house/techno DJ did play and it got a bit too loud for to still converse. It is a very small and narrow space so seating is limited. The blue velvet chairs are classy (but alittle flimsy- one of ours was broken) and the dark ambiance totally gives it a speakeasy vibe. There is a discount for law enforcement and health professionals which is good bc the drinks are $16-18 so it's a bit pricey. We didn't order food but saw they offered small bar bites. A tiny little bar tucked into a random corner of Walnut Creek. There's not much parking and all of it is paid. The inside of the bar is pretty nice and simple. The menu isn't too extensive, but there's some decent drinks. Seems like they're focused on vodka centric drinks - they have their own Luna Sea Vodka. Very cute place. My husband and I decided to add this lounge to our bar hopping adventure last night and we were not disappointed. The inside theme has an underwater speakeasy feel. All drinks are available to order at the bar and it's open seating. They have a variety of drinks on the menu to choose from and certain special ones with foam have the ability for patrons to print any photo of their liking to it. I really wanted to try that but the drink I wanted didn't have any foam. The bar was decorated Halloween style and it was fitting for the season. The music playing ranged from hip hop, alternative, and some EDM. It wasn't packed for a Saturday night which was surprising but good for us cause we didn't have to wait. Also, I would like to point out for the record that NOWHERE on the menu, website, physical building, or a mention from the bartender to say there's going to be a charge for the soda. Yes, they pour fever tree as a default, but a four pack of fever tree will run you about $6.50 (or less) at your local grocery store. Yet you've got the audacity to blindly charge your customers $5.00 for half a bottle? Not only do you not keep to keep the bottle, goes back into the fridge after they make your drink, but you've got no idea you're even being charged for it until the bill comes. I get that businesses, especially new(er) ones, need to make money, but at what cost? This is an absolute joke of a business practice, and I sincerely hope all of you out there take this review to heart before deciding to be swindled at Luna. Their food selections are very limited at this time. We opted for the hummus, and it was actually surprisingly good, not the cheapo kind you find at the grocery store, but good quality hummus, and the pita chips were tasty as well. I do hope they will expand their food menu in the future, and offer charcuterie boards and other light bites to complement their wine and cocktail selections. The bartender was very nice and hospitable. The lounge is pretty and inviting, and has a sea theme, with orcas on the walls, very cool. Walking in, it looked smaller than expected but I liked the cozy lounge vibes. All the bartenders were amazing! We stopped by Luna Sea Lounge on October 12th for my friend's birthday, expecting to finish the night with some drinks and photos. Except, surprise--it was closed for a private event. Not exactly the vibe we were hoping for. My friend (the one who has no problem speaking up) called them, and after a brief negotiation, they let us come in on one condition: we had to be out when the event guests showed up. Fair enough. When we got there, the staff was super nice and honestly more apologetic than they needed to be. We ordered drinks--I went with something I can't even remember, but they let me put a picture of my dog on it, so that was a win. Nothing like sipping on a cocktail with your Shih Tzu's face staring back at you. We had the place to ourselves for about 20 minutes before the event crowd trickled in, and we had to down our drinks and head out. Not exactly a long stay, but we appreciated the hospitality. All in all, the staff made the best out of a weird situation, and we left happy...even if we spent more time taking photos outside the building by the loading zone sign than actually enjoying the lounge.
