My review is for this specific location off of Gateway Blvd in Boynton Beach, and this gets my very rare one star per year. I have been a member of LA Fitness for a few years and I have worked out at pretty much all of the PBC locations, and others such as two in Jacksonville and the one in Melbourne. I am a big fan, i LIVE LA Fitness. But this location? The worst possible. Very poorly managed and money-pinched and it shows. Equipment: the whole place needs an overhaul. Equipmemt is frayed and tired looking. The lat pull machine - one of two - has been out of service for months. The water fountains leak and break. The scale in the men's locker does not give the same reading twice if you pray to the gods of scales, the one in the lobby is equally out of calibration and rickety. They do not have mid-point dumb bells, unlike the other locations; in other words their dumb bells weight go up in 5-pound increments instead of 2.5-pound increments, so I drive to the Delray Beach gym on arms and shoulders day. The bars for the press benches look from the 1980s they are dark and without marks to help position hands in a balanced way. Every gym struggles a bit with member behavior racking the weights back where they belong, but here the bad behavior is rampant and ridiculous. There are only two signs about putting weights back. I do not know what management does at other locations, but I do not have to waste time roaming around trying to find the right handle for the cable pulls, or find the matching dumb bell as much as I do here. Staff.... What staff? Could be that adding staff might help with the equipment disarray, I don't know I don't manage gyms but as member I know what looks right and this place is all wrong. If it weren't so convenient to get to from my house i would never go here. read more

It was ok But as someone traveling with a power chair and ramp van. There are NO ACCESSIBLE SPACES. I used to go to this gym when I was more able bodied but now aging with disability.! No! The pool chair You need someone to operate it Showers Accessible shower Tiles falling off the wall Hair! Hair hair hair! Do they clean it once a day? Unacceptable. Knob to turn shower on is not Ada compliant: The shower itself is not Ada compliant. Needs more bars. But honestly. Turning the showing on itself is impossible. I like being very independent with a disability....Needing staff to assist me because the facility is... old, stinks. I visited here when I was able bodied. I do not recommend it for people with disabilities. The employee who assisted was phenomenal. read more

Having been a previous member at other LA Fitness gyms, this is a complete disappointment. The biggest problem is the management, Bryce is unpersonable, not approachable, and completely lacking in humbleness. He has zero customer service skills, doesn't build any sense of community, and frankly seems clueless about how to run a membership desk at a gym. Instead of inspiring members, he talks down to people and makes the entire environment feel unprofessional and unwelcoming. On top of that, the facility itself is run down: the dumbbell rack is incomplete, many machines are constantly out of order, and the ones that do work feel neglected. It's clear maintenance and member experience are not priorities here. I came here expecting a professional environment, but I've decided to move my company gym membership for my employees over to other local gym where we're actually valued, the equipment works, and management has both competence and humility. read more

I've been to plenty of good LA fitness locations, but this is one of the worst. Lots of broken equipment, and the bathrooms.... the bathrooms are just nasty. Also, not a big fan of the clientele that frequent this location. You are better off going to the east boca/east delray locations. read more

I find multiple la fitness gyms where the water is too warm for swimming.it is hot in flordia 90 percent of time so a pool that is too hot at every location is unacceptable read more

This is my regular gym that I come to 3-4 times a week. As far as gyms go, it's decent. It is always super super packed and we're constantly waiting for machines. The machines aren't really that new and are often either broken down or make weird noises when you're on them. The staff is really nice and overall the gym is clean. read more

Probably 3.5 stars. This LA Fitness is located off Congress Ave about 3 miles east and 1 mile north of the one located on Boynton Beach Blvd. This one is not a Signature Club like the one on Boynton Beach so depending on your membership you can go to either one. This one is larger and has two levels (see photo) so more cardio machines. This one also has older equipment and does not have the green training area. They do have a battle rope but not tires or ladders. There are 3 squat racks and 4 flat benches (see photo). It was fairly crowded so if someone is camping on the machine you want it could be a problem There is only one low back machine but they do have a hip flexor/extensor machine which is hard to find these days. It is an old machine but its hard to find an exercise that simulates the same muscle work. read more

The Gym is older and needs a refresh. The machines are OK, but some are worn. The Locker room has several lockers in need of repair.

Excited about the gym's impressive makeover with new equipment and increased variety, plus it's much cleaner now! The positive changes in the past year are remarkable. Additionally, the staff is friendly and attentive. read more

CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!!! Most important is that the people who work here are amazing!!! King, one of the managers, is the most accommodating person. Not to mention, Dylan, was a No Pressure salesman and my daughter signed up immediately as his approach was so relaxed. We told him about our experience at the Boynton Beach Location and he actually apologized to us for having to go through such torture. The Gym has been totally remodeled and the even the people who go to this gym are as nice as all the people who work there. Soooo nice when you arrive. They greet you with a smile. Just recently started back with LA Fitness, kind of regretting this, hopefully the other locations close to me aren't in this terrible condition. This location has really gone down hill. There isn't a treadmill, elliptical, stair climber, etc on the top floor that isn't covered in rust or falling apart. The light above the jacuzzi has been flickering for the last week. There are bottles of sanitizer placed on a table but depending on the day there might not be paper towels available. Everything just seems really dirty. Sad this use to be one of the "nicer" locations. The staff if you see them at all just seem to not care. For the amount charged for a membership this is just shameful. read more

Good luck trying to use a machine they are never available. The place is full of the elderly, dressed in jeans and T-shirts. Doing very strange exercises on the machines. The utilities are out of date. The location is great but for how much they make through their loyal members they've yet to upgrade & provide us the equipment we deserve. Have been going here for a while, really spacious being a two story gym, so happy they upgraded on some machines like the stairmaster! They also put in the green training area which is also pretty spacious so many people can workout at once. The dance room has some mats and weights already inside the room which is really convenient. The smoothies are also not too expensive! I also noticed a small workout space upstairs in the cardio area which is really nice for introverts to workout in haha or to just get in a quick stretch before running! read more

This gym is really nice. They have plenty of parking. The front desk management is good. They are quick to do the card scan for check in. There is more equipment here than I have ever seen at any other location. The equipment is well organized into sections for individual body parts and even though they are close together, there is plenty of room to move between them. The classes seem pretty packed on the weekend, but then they should be because that is when people have the most time to work out. There are plenty of treadmills and bicycles upstairs that no one need to wait for the equipment in front of a tv screen. The interior was very clean and the locker rooms were well stocked. There were people swimming laps in the pool and even saw someone in the hot tub. I don't work out here very often, but when in the mood, this is a nice facility. read more

It's an LA Fitness, just be prepared for what that entails at 90% if their gyms, weights left randomly all over the place, not well-cleaned, lots of tools and few true lifters-and you won't be surprised. Pros: round plates, 3 good squat racks (2 1/2 racks and 1 power rack), large upstairs cardio area, location close to I95, lots of newer equipment. Cons: TONS of tools, even in the early am, weights scattered all over (even in early am), doesn't appear well-cleaned by janitorial staff. Again, clientele is a huge con-lots of young, inexperienced meatheads with huge upper bodies and small legs. Update: come here ~1-2x per week around 5/5:30 for a couple hours. It has become even more busy in the early morning. I even saw a fight break out between an older man and a 20ish your old kid over the shrug machine of all things. This gym is becoming ridiculous and seems to be going downhill as far as cleanliness and organization. Was bad, now worse. Update 2/21/20 Saw a bunch of cockroaches in the gym today, in multiple lockers and near one of the trash cans. read more

There are 7 standard LifeFitness exercise bikes upstairs. Only 2 are functional. 2 men using them today told me it's been like that for years. The basketball court has soft spots on the floor and spots where the floor bubbles up. It's probably not safe for full court play. read more

Out of the many LA Fitness locations in this area, this location has potential to be the best, and used to be my favorite. However, over the last year and a half going back to just before the pandemic the management seems to have taken a serious decline. It's understandable that it is a gym and things break, like the hack squat that has been "scheduled for service" for well over a year. But this gym fails to replace the most basic and inexpensive pieces of equipment. Over half of the pins for machines have disappeared, making many of them unusable, and it seems that there are less every week. This location insists on buying carabiner clips that screw on, and within a few uses they get jammed and are unable to be opened, making some of the cables unusable. These are basic pieces of equipment that any other gym would replace within a day or two. I'd be willing to overlook these problems if it weren't for the fact that the staff gives you a very hard time about bringing guests, and insists on charging $15 for a day pass at a gym that can't provide basic equipment. I'd be happy to pay for guests if I knew the money would be used to buy inexpensive things like clips or weight pins, but it isn't. I'll be surprised if this location is still open in 2 years. read more

This is the worst LA FITNESS now in all of south FL. I travel for work and can work out at any LA Fitness so I use many. Unfortunately, I happen to live near this one so I use it the most and compared to all the other locations it's the worst by far. Missing pins to change weight, machine pulleys don't work, rusty machines, broken machines, TVs are 20 years old and small, can't even make out the picture, basketball floor is buckling, dangerous to play on, people bring speakers and play their own music super loud on the weekend. Weights scattered everywhere. Please put some money back into your gym. It's packed so I know you have it. read more

The only lady at the counter the greeted us was extremely nice. The gym itself is very spacious two levels I love the mezzanine where you get to look down it's very motivating while you're doing the treadmill. The gym is poorly run without any management walking the floor to see what's actually happening there. I had to complain to front desk staff about how lazy one of the janitorial staff was as far as vacuuming, picking up used paper towels, reracking weights etc. He spent all his time schmoozing with members and ignoring his job. Secondly, a member was vulgar to me today and when I complained to front desk his response was for one of us to leave!! The rude member called me a fucking bitch because I was asking him if he was on a specific machine and for how long. Lack of leadership the best way to describe this ghetto gym. If it wasn't so close to my house I would never set foot in there. read more

I have belonged to LAFITNES for many years. The clubs are Dirty. The showers always have hair and other debris in them. I mostly use the pool which has green black & yellow growth in it. The Hotub has a black rim around it. This is the same for most of the LAfitness. Even the so called SIGNATURE CLUB ON BOYNTON BEACH BLVD & JOG. When the pool or hottub breaks it will be broken for weeks. It has alwys been this way. THIS IS NOT DUE TO COVID. The Steam room& Sauna are never cleaned. This is the only Gym within 10 miles of my house with the pool as I swim laps. Calling corporate has no effect on the conditions of the club. read more

Went late night with my cousin at 9:30 pm when the gym was empty and argued with the lady behind the counter for 20 minutes because she told me my account doesn't allow me to play racquetball even though I play EVERY WEEK at 20 different la fitnesses...after calling her manager she finally let us play (rudest women ever). She also made my cousin pay and wouldn't let him use his guest pass with no valid reason?? Waiting to hear back from the manager for my $16 refund...we went to la fitness in Jupiter the next day and of course there were NO issues and they let my cousin use his guest pass. This was 6/27 at 9:30 pm. Will NEVER return to this location. WANT MY REFUND! LEARN THE RULES OF YOUR OWN GYM! read more

I have been working out for the last 30 years and a member of LA fitness several times. It is amazing how far down this fitness chain has fallen. This particular one is filthy beyond description. There is absolutely no one cleaning up. They allow their members to work out like barbaric neanderthals. No one uses a towel, no one wipes their sweat, no one re-racks their weights.
