2 favorite LA Fitness in DFW were the Coppell Signature and Lake Highlands (Grapevine got an honorable mention when I wanted a low key location on a weeknight). All 3 have now been closed. LH had better amenities than even the Haskell Signature. Definitely grieving the closure of LH. read more

It's a cute la fitness. The staff is usually friendly. I wouldn't suggest the guest passs unless a manager is there. The staff isn't brightest or believe you without a QR code that you will never get. The gym has pool,, his/hers sauna, and an all the gym equipment you could need. read more

I would have sworn that I reviewed this location before because several years ago my wife and I used to work out regularly here. Anyway, this is a large fitness center with a good-sized indoor pool. There are many facilities and different types of weights. Parking is ample. I agree with the person who said the staff is not particularly friendly, but actually you don't have much contact with them anyway, just when you check in. I have not used a personal trainer so I cannot comment on that. They seem to always be running some kind of special so you can join and work out for a reasonable price. read more

First time visiting this location. Overall, it was a good experience with lots of equipment and two levels of workout space. They had the newer stair masters which I really don't like. Overall, the staff were nice and the facilities were clean. The heat in the men's sauna was out of control so that was a bit of a disappointment. Plenty of free parking. read more

Staff at the front always have an attitude for no reason as soon as you walk in always have very smarta** remarks if you ask them a question or are confused about a policy. Machines are usually broken especially cardio. Not enough machines so a lot of people stand around waiting to use one. One trainer always has a bad attitude for no reason. Nice gym, but every time I attend a yoga class, there is an incessant beeping noise coming from the adjacent fire room. This is maddening when you're trying to relax into a yoga state of mind. I have mentioned it to the front desk at least 3 different times. This can't be rocket science, why can't they fix it? It's obviously an equipment malfunction. Isn't this a safety issue? LA Fitness is poorly managed and property security is non existent. At least 3 lockers, with locks, were broken into today with valuables stolen. Their response is that they are not liable. They also refused to make a police report even though multiple members were impacted. This type of indifference on top of poor security is inexcusable. Terrible!!! Tried to use the workout room, but they couldn't figure out how to turn the lights on. Apparently it's corporate that has to do it! Get a regular light switch! Not that hard! Bathrooms were not clean. Hair. Mold. A "coach" called me to tell me I haven't been in awhile and need some accountability. Well, my husband got really sick. I don't need someone telling me I need accountability...yall have some nerve. Oh and to cancel the gym membership you have to go in when the manager is there, fine. I was told 8-5. SARAH is SO RUDE to the parents!!! BE AWARE, as the kids club was closing and I was grabbing my babies to leave I realized I needed to change a diaper. Sarah was angrily staring at me asking me how much longer I was going to take. I responded that I was going as fast as possible then she told her three kids who were still playing behind me that they could turn on the tv and play. With confusion I hurried and grabbed my belongings to leave. As I was walking out of the door she told her three kids again to keep playing while she went back to the front desk to work. I felt very uncomfortable as a member and embarrassed for my baby as I was only trying to change a bad diaper. SARAH is a manager unfortunately. Parents be careful. read more

On a good day, I might have given this place 3 stars, despite the icky showers and dressing rooms that always have dirty floors and hair everywhere. However, they have now found a way to screw over their paying swim members. I've had my membership for years and only to swim. They are now allowing a third-party business to rent two of their lanes, cramming all of their loyal, full-paying members into two lanes to do their swimming and water fitness - and for large chunks of the day! I am stunned because this used to be strictly against the rules and now the almighty dollar has conquered Mr. Welch. In addition, the last time I swam there, which has now been a while because I'm still deciding what to do next, I was stunned to see a man swimming in his underwear and when I asked the front desk about it, she said there's really nothing they can do about that. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! THIS IS HIGHLY DISRESPECTFUL AND UNSANITARY. I really don't want to be in a pool swimming with men in their sweaty, skid underwear... women either, although I have yet to see that. read more

BEWARE: I participated in Personal training with LA Fitness for almost a year. Then they sold/outsourced their training to another company. All the trainers left which should have been a sign. Since my trainer of a year left I asked to cancel my month-to-month contract but was told I would not get money back for any sessions I hadn't used even though LA fitness no longer provides trainers. I was shocked by the lack of help I received especially considering I even got my husband to become a member. I'm out a lot of money but it's obviously not a lot of money to them. They offered to let me start over with a new trainer to use up my remaining sessions but it'd have to be with the new company so they don't even facilitate it. It used to be I could walk in to the gym and talk to someone but now it's all over the phone or email so they can hide from their members. I get it's a business but it's a business that sells themselves as a community of support and bettering yourself but they actually just want to see how much money they can get out of you and take advantage of those who believe them. My fellow queer people be aware, homophobia is a live and well here. I love this gym and this location, and as a proud gay guy should not have too worry about others. Over the past couple of months I have noticed and shift and change in some of the men who workout here. If you don't like someone, don't look at them. If you don't support certain people for who they are, don't engage and make things uncomfortable. I learn every time I come here who I need to distance myself from, and what I experienced in the locker room will definitely change how I approach this place in the future. This is definitely one of the newer locations that was built from scratch and not bought out by another company. Being an LA Fitness member since 2009 and having visited numerous locations across the country, I can recognize the structures of the newer locations vs older bought out locations. The machines were of course in newer condition and had a wide selection to choose from. Having a condo in Dallas brings me out here often so I bounce around the different locations they have in the area and what drew me to this one was the sled due to old knee injuries that can use some sled work to keep up the maintenance. The other locations I've visited before in the Dallas area did not have sleds. I also appreciated the basketball courts, clean locker rooms, mass amounts of cardio machines and I'll emphasize again the wide selection of machines and free weights to choose from. On my first visit to this particular location I had a great workout for about 2-3 hours and might make this my go to location in Dallas. I see people complaining about this, that, and the third but in the grand scheme of things it's a gym. It does what it is suppose to and it's clean too. I've been to some dungeons before and had great workouts there too but this location is modern and state of the art. And I'll emphasize the locker rooms were clean too because I've been to dingy locker rooms as well and still had great workouts so for me it did the job. I had no complaints at all. And the community of people seemed cool too. Didn't really interact with too many people this time around but everyone I came across was courteous and respectful at least, which tells me there's also community to build from in this location. Would highly recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a solid gym to get their mind and body right. read more

Extremely rude staff. Worst gym clientele I've seen in 20 years. People don't clean or return weights. Won't let you work in and will spend over an hour baby sitting machines. They don't clean. Stains all over the machines and dudes just peeing on the floor. (No joke) had a dude screaming some antisemitic remarks about other races and the staff did nothing. They won't work with you if you have disabilities. Watched a dude with no legs ask for help and staff said, they told him to bring someone to help him cuz it's not their problem. The machines are extremely old and outdated. Half of them are missing parts, mismatched clips on the dual cable. Staff doesn't even try to explain how the machines work, so the new folks just end up breaking it. Been going to LA for almost 15 years in Arizona and this place needs to be shut down. LA Fitness personnel trainner contract is a scam, since I started in the first few weeks they have changed five different trainers and on top of that those trainers work not show up on time so r they would leave early, and some days they didn't show up and every time they say they would fix it and they never did so I ask to cancel my contract and the person that works in La sent an email but they kept taking money from my credit card called corporate and spoke to David song and he said that he refused to cancel the contract, I threatened to go to court but they seemed not worried Now not only I am going to take them to court but I am going to expose them in the Media too read more

This isn't the Taj Mahal, but it helps to get the job done. The staff isn't overly friendly but will acknowledge you most of the time. Not sure why some yelpers were a little bothered by the staff not pulling a Rat Pack number along with a Fred Astaire jig every time you walk in. Plenty of machines and equipment; never had to wait on anything. It would be nice for people to wipe them down after use though. Locker rooms, showers, and saunas are usually kept tidy but smells like corn chips at times. The janitorial staff can't fix ALL member hygiene issues. Not their fault.... I've been attending for about 3 months now and pay around $27 a month which is almost too good to be true, but like most have advised; you get what you pay for here. If you like to stay to yourself like me, and get on a treadmill or attend a fitness class every so often, then enjoy a hot shower with complimentary shower gel and shampoo without the "Frou Frou" and breaking the bank, you might want to give LA Fitness a try! I really like this la fitness. It appears smaller than the other locations I have visited but the layout is very similar. This location is very clean. Even the bathroom was spotless and smelled great (like it was freshly cleaned)! I noticed the weight rack had all of the equipment. On the second floor, the cardio equipment worked. What was unique about this location was how the front door/window allowed for sunlight to come in the gym. I'll be back to visit. The staff were friendly and answered my questions that I had about this location. I enjoyed my workout time there! read more

Dirty gym!!! I've been a member at this place since 2007 and have watched a steady decline ever since. It used to be a decent place with nice equipment, friendly staff and a reasonably clean environment. Now... not so much. This place is just nasty. Even on days when it's not very busy, I find sticky, sweaty, equipment that are often old and in disrepair. Frequently, there are used paper towels and gum stuffed into the cup and phone holders of cardio machines. Weights are thrown everywhere throughout the gym. The trash cans are often overflowing. Hand sanitizer and paper towel dispensers are regularly empty. I understand that a gym can get pretty dirty during peak workout times, but I find this even when it's not. No excuse for that. Here's an even more frustrating thing. I sometimes go to a different LA Fitness location at Greenville Avenue and Lovers Lane. Very different gym! It's a busy place but always clean and well maintained. So why does that one have its act together and not the gym in Lake Highlands? I suspect management, or lack thereof, is to blame. I've emailed corporate, called, and spoken to the front desk multiple times and have never received anything other than a typical formed response saying that they care about their customers' experience and that they are looking into the matter. Not much help there. My guess is that it won't be changing any time soon. So I'd recommend that you shop around for different gyms. Frankly, I'd be willing to pay a little more for a better facility than this one. read more

It's alright. I'm not too impressed, but it did the trick. The pool is nice, the instructors are okay, and the daycare is really convenient if you're taking kiddos (extra fee). When you first sign up they kind of hassle you to meet with a trainer which I found a bit annoying. I wished they had more fitness classes in the evening. They had classes that started around 5ish am, then 9:45 am, but nothing between 5-7p. Great for retired folks or those with unconventional hours, but ummm...I don't know what the rest of the world is going to do. When I first signed up I wanted to tour the facility but there was only one person working the desk, and no one to provide them relief, so I ended up having to explore on my own. Not bad, but not good, ya know? If you're a single senior citizen looking for a date, this might be the place to be. They're everywhere! Hehe Again, it's alright...but I'm not impressed. read more

Staff is nice, but homeless people often come in and use the facilities. Bathrooms are dirty, floors are dirty. The patrons have the WORST gym etiquette of any gym I've been to in 20 years, including 24 Hour Fitness in bad locations. Like, no one puts their weights up. People sit for 30 minutes on a machine on their phones; no one understands the concept of working in; a lot of the patrons are really rude; exits are not secured - and the tiny print active shooter plan they have posted in one location is not reassuring. The gym needs to ban cell phone usage for anything other than music between the hours of 5 and 8 because the gym is literally overrun with people just sitting on machines on their phones. A female patron literally shoved me out of her way when I was walking into the men's locker room this afternoon. Also, when they are blaring music in the dance workout facility, close the darn door. I can't listen to three songs at once - the one on the overhead system, my ear buds, and the dance class samba. Come on. This is basic common sense and common courtesy. Clean up, post signs that say "If you're strong enough to pick up the weight, you're strong enough to put it back up." And make people stop squatting on machines for 30 to 60 minutes at a time. read more

My husband and I used to go here for about a year and a half. We loved the variety of equipment, exercise classes, swimming pool and racquetball courts. I also had a trainer, Chris, who was awesome. He definitely whipped my butt into shape. I love working with him and sharing in his knowledge. However, each time I came in, the head trainer (complete jerk) would ask me if I had had my fitness assessment. I told him each time that I was currently training with Chris and he completely ignored me. He never remembered who I was and was rude each time he talked to me. La Fitness has decided to close multiple lanes at most metroplex LA Fitness pools (2 hrs in am and 4 hrs pm) to accommodate junior swim lessons. Closures are inconsiderate of members with jobs and want to work out . I've had an annual membership for 15 years and do not plan to renew. read more

I enjoy this gym, I go when it's not busy and I like to stay to myself. I like how the layout of the gym and everything seems to be clean. The ladies lock room and sauna are always tidy. The staff when I go are friendly and outgoing. Signing up was a breeze with Brenton and he was very transparent about the contract. Brenton did a great job of explaining everything to me and it took no time. The only reason why I docked one star is because during my signup, I had indicated that I wasn't interested in personal training or their free assessment. I said no. I received a call a few days later from Dakota. I was at work and answered a few questions over the phone, I was interested in the assessment but not the personal training. I figured I'd meet whoever they were going to "pair" me up with since Chemistry is important when it comes to a trainer. If I really like them, then sure, let's take a crack. I had told Dakota that I was going to be really busy on Friday and Saturday so I wouldn't be able to make it until late on Saturday. When I received the email about my appointment reminder, I called the gym to cancel. I received a text from Dakota on Friday, I wasn't aware because since it was from an unknown number it went to my junk messages. I happened to be on my phone when he sent another message, he sent a text along the lines of "are you coming or not" or "are you going to show up" and I wish I saved it but it was so fricken rude that I ended up telling him that he was rude and blocking his number. Horrible place. After my son and I meeting with Bernard to start our membership, all has been good until today. Due to an issue with the app, Lauren threaten to kick my son and my VIP guest out of the club. After 30 mins, she finally realized (in her head) that she was mistaken. Ironically, while my Lauren wasted my time, her colleague allowed a 10 yo boy (without a parent) in with no issue. I have a message into Bernard and will be sure to post his response. Truly an unfortunate situation whereby Lauren is attempting to use her power as manager to the detriment of 2 boys, both who have a contractual right to be in the gym with me.
