The facility is kept in great condition, very clean, lots of machines available for both strength and cardio training, large room used for group classes like Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, etc. There is also a lap swimming pool, a full basketball court and a few racquetball courts. It would be nice if staff was a tiny bit more attentive with hello's and goodbye's and I do find that the treadmills (surrounding floors and stairs) can be better maintained/cleaned/swept. My husband and I got a membership here just a few days ago. From the tour, it looked clean. We were told by Jamal, a membership consultant, that the gym opened just 8 months ago. I got a workout in the same day I got my membership and there were more cons than pros, sadly. Cons: -the weights are completely unorganized. I had a membership, I use to go to the plantation location, however on Monday, October 2nd I went to workout and an other member was using 3-4 machines at the same time, this person left a bottle next to one of the machines, I didn't see anyone using it so I proceeded to use it when a man came up to me saying he was using it and walked away to use an other machine, I told him sir you are not using it, he became very aggressive, at this pint he was yelling and I said are you going to hit me, to which he answered yes! This is a very small gym and stays crowded through most of the day. I was randomly harassed by two of the trainers there that were pointing and asking if "that was the guy" and described me as the one in the black shirt. I was worried that I was being targeted by two criminals by how they approached me in a hostile manner. They asked me my age and was almost demanding to know why I was using a machine meant for seniors. I told them my age is none of their business, don't worry about it. They claimed they were joking. They need to be better trained on how to approach people because this could have went very badly. You don't go around pointing at people and act is if they did something wrong and begin questioning them. As a whole, the gym is nice, the equipment is nice, the bathrooms are nice, the turf and all the other bells and whistles are nice. But I am absolutely blown away with is how little the humans who workout here care about re-racking free weights and when they do, I mean, the pictures speak for themselves. The staff ignores everyone. They talk to one or 2 people that stay at the desk for over an hour. The gym is not clean. Leather or whatever material on the equipment is ripped on almost every machine. RTUs do not work. Gym is hot. Corporate needs to visit this gym. read more

I have been working out at this location for several years now, in the mornings. they have a person in the morning dedicated to keeping the machines operating and a good morning cleaning crew. We went through a period of not having hot water for showers, but that issue has been corrected and the showers are great. good variety of cardio, weights, and machines for working out. read more

I've been coming to this location since it was built a few years ago. It's ok, except there is usually a wait for the free weights and the machines. I wish they more than 1-2 of each. I also wish they had more classes during the day between 10-4. There is really not much for people who work at night and are off during the day. The locker rooms are clean for the most part. When you go to use the bathroom be prepared to sweat a lot! The steam/sauna is right near them and when people open the doors, ALL the heat moves into that area. They should also get the water supply in the fountains checked...it's usually warm. I do like that they have a snack/juice bar inside the location if you need it. As a recent member to LA Fitness, I would say, overall, that this location is pretty great. Let's take a look at the pros and cons: Pros It's new so the equipment is new. There is a parking garage for those random rainy days. The front desk staff is helpful. Plenty of workout space. With your membership you can rent out the basketball courts. The locker rooms are kept up well. The pool is clean and usually empty and usually at a nice temperature. They have a smoothie bar at this location. The cardio equipment has tvs so I can watch E! while working out. Cons There is never any paper towels in the disperser to clean the machines or wipe off your face so sweat is literally everywhere. Since its new it's usually busy. As listed above, do not go around 6pm. It's jammed packed with people who sometimes can be quite rude. I've witnessed a few arguments already. It's not open 24 hours. A lot of people talk on the phone while working out. How the can do both ill never know. It gets distracting when you're trying to stay focused. The good definitely outweighs the bad. Most of the bad are the customers, not the actual gym. Just keep to yourself like I do and bring your own sweat towel and you'll be good to go! read more

The locker room had garbage everywhere, dirty bandaids and hairballs near the showers, pistachio shells and orange peels scattered throughout. Desperately needs to hire more staff to keep the bathrooms clean, to make sure paper towels dispensers are refilled, bottles to clean the machines are in place. La fitness already has no "wipes" to sanitize machines, at least have things in order for ppl to do so. It's also frustrating never being able to find weights in their proper spot. The dirt on the mats are always so black that I wonder how ppl even lay on it. I've told the staff over and over about these things, nothing seems to "permanently" Change. This gym has so much potential and due to the pandemic I've been understanding of it but c'mon change things for your loyal customers. Hire more and increase the pay for them, give them an incentive. This is by far the newest location I have ever been to and it shows. The interior is always clean and the equipment never looks gross from sweat like the Sawgrass location. The parking has never been a problem but I can not always find a spot in the garage. My work out starts just getting to the front desk. Being that the gym starts on the second floor, the three flights of stairs get the muscles loosened. The front desk management is helpful and attentive to scanning the membership cards. They have a good amount of equipment but it is disheartening when I only have a limited time to work out and VERY often people sit on the machines like they are a locker room bench and play on their phones for too long. I really wish there were some benches around the perimeter so that they can free up the machines. The classes are very popular as they always seem to be full. Even the water fitness classes are well attended. I hope they continue to keep this location in good, clean shape. read more

Been an LA Fitness member for a little over 2 years; was a 24-hour member prior to that and honestly I've been trying to get my boyfriend to switch to 24 with me, until now. FINALLY we have a gym you actually will LOVE to go to! Its clean and all of the machines work - there are enough weights for everyone and more than enough equipment to meet your needs. We've been waiting for this gym to open for about a year -- we have gone to the Sawgrass location and after coming here ... Sawgrass WHO! lol All of the other LA's need to step-it-up! Seriously!!! This gym is BEAUTIFUL! Literally your home away from home! So happy its down the street! The parking hasn't been an issue yet - although I'm sure it will become more crowded as more people find out about it -- but I don't think it will be an issue. Finally a change of scenery! I have been waiting for this gym to open since it was announced a couple of years ago. I used to work right next to it so I got to see all the stages of construction from demolish to grand opening. I guess the anticipation was huge and it did not disappoint. This gym is different than the usual LA Fitness setup because the first floor is a parking garage that extends into the plaza shared by Publix and other restaurants. The second floor is their main gym area which includes free weights, machines, basketball court, squash court, group exercise room, spinning room, pool, and sales area. The third floor has all their cardio equipment which are all state of the art with HDTV. Something new that I noticed is that they have a little section roped off exclusively for personal training. Since they just opened they do not have any classes yet or juice bar up and running. The staff were really excited to be there and friendly. They told us they will have a class area posted within a few days. read more

The area manager Carol does not know how to do her job. She made promises and failed at keeping them. She doesn't check up on the clubs and ensure they are being maintained. The clubs often have things go broken for extended periods of time. The personal training is a scam. They will take your money and then make it difficult to use your sessions. Don't ever get scammed with their "training program" it's all flashy and fantastic when they are trying to catch you, but once you are in, they just don't care. He said literally: "I couldn't care less" disappointing LA Fitness location. Messy place. Members do whatever they want to. I attended this gym for a month after moving here from Chicago. I canceled my membership for many reasons including disorganization and rude staff. Front desk staff is terrible. Can't go out of town without finding the local LA Fitness and this is a very nice location if you're in the area, they have a full court basketball court, four racquetball courts, a very large spin room and a swimming pool. More than enough free weights and equipment to get a complete workout in, the second floor is filled with ample cardio machines and they have so many machines I don't understand how anyone would have a wait. The worst LA in south Florida. They run their classes differently from other LAs - don't bother reserving for any classes because they will let anyone take your reservation and give you crap about it. You can reserve in advance and even if the class is full of people who didn't reserve, they kick out those who reserved instead. The club manager Jamal is also rude as hell. The bike instructor Michael is condescending and rude as well. He doesn't check if you made a reservation because he doesn't care and, according to his own words "I don't got time for that!". Other LA instructors check, you're not better than them. Also the people who come to this gym are entitled and conceited! Go to another LA, don't waste your time in this one read more

I have never seen a gym with such disorganized weights. Two do the same weight dumbells nowhere near each other. Spend half of your time looking for weights, while trainers and staff stand around idle. Very sad for LA Fitness, might be time to monitor what your staff is doing. Let this story sink in! Went to take a shower after my work out and there was a big wad of hair on the floor of the stall. The next day after my work out I went to use that same shower....BIG WAD OF HAIR STILL THERE!!! I think that speaks volumes about the cleanliness of the ladies locker room. Aside from that, the female guests are the RUDEST I've ever encountered. Just about each one of them think the equipment and sauna personally belong to them.
