I went to sign up at this place today. This place wasn't meant to be my home gym as I wanted some Red Lobster also. I already have a membership with Golds gym. I needed a 24 hour place for when I can't sleep and want to go work out. As I've seen, all of the Planet Fitness places are 24 hours so kudos for me. Drive: The drive is long from where I live so I most definitely will not be visiting this gym. I needed to get signed up with them through Silver Sneakers so I can have my free membership. Yeah, I've come to realize that I'm becoming an old fart. Sign up: The sign up was easy, took me about 15 mins max. The people who are on duty and yada yada and all of that was explained to me, as well as the staff being certified in CPR. The Gym: The gym itself of course is large, just like any Planet Fitness. Plenty of cardio machines but lack a lot of machines for upper body workouts. There are some but not many. Which, when I want to go workout there in the wee hours of the morning, I'll be doing legs. There's enough equipment for leg workouts. Cost: As I get my membership free, the cost is great. A regular membership is $10 per month and if you want the one with 50% off drinks and regular use of everything they have to offer it's $22 per month. That's what's called a black card. I don't know why it has to be black. Lawd help me! Yes 50% off drinks, not protein drinks!! Just be mindful of that. read more

First: Some employees have a miserable behavior. They are arrogant, mean, and do not know how to speak nicely. (interesting that only women behave like this). The place is not properly maintained. broken floor tile at the entry. if you do not pay attention when you enter, you can get injured. At the hydromassage there was water on the floor, I think from a broken pipe. enough for someone to slip. The tanning machines are quite old and the bulbs are weak. and another stupid thing that I have experienced several times is the fact that they start cleaning and dusting exactly when I was on the treadmill and I breathe all their dust. I can not figure out if the employment conditions are that those who want to work there are idiots, or those who hire them. read more

I wish there was an option for NO STARS. I came from La fit thinking it'd be nice to get a 24 facility. WRONG This facility is very small and STUFFED with equipment I could barely move around in without bumping others. No mirrors if you like to watch yourself workout to inspect form. A few inappropriately dressed individuals that made me uncomfortable as well. I shared all this with management and they've proceeded to keep charging me until I sign a form that says I'd like to cancel. My repeated calls and emails weren't enough. They still don't get it. Amazing! Don't waste your money , time or effort with this place. They're hungry to steal your money anyway they can so they can stay open. I'm attaching the third email from their regional manager that doesn't seem to have a clue. This is the third time I have been a member of Planet Fitness. It has served me well and is exactly what I want. I have always been happy. I moved and rejoined the new location, or so I thought. Their new policy is that you can't sign up at the location you want. You must sign up online and their system selects the location for you. You have no option to choose. The person that decided this is an idiot. I signed up and was assigned to a location 3 times further away than the one I wanted. I went to the location I wanted and tried to get it straightened out and was told I can't change my selected location locations for 3 months. After I explained several times that I never selected that location I was told they'd put a note in my account and all was good. I got there and was told I couldn't use that location I had to go to my "chosen" one for 3 months before I could change it. After much wasted time, I was again told they'd put something in my record. I went for a couple of weeks and thought all was good, until I was stopped and again told I could not use that location and they'd upcharge my account for me trying. It goes on and on. I was finally told to call the other location that they were the only ones that could fix it. I called them and they told me there was nothing they could do about it. I have probably spent more time trying to get this corrected than I have been able to use the facility. I do not have time to come in and argue with someone every time I go. I have spoken to someone today that has said I could come today - 2 hours later than I wanted to go and he will try to see if he can get it fixed for me. This is THEIR error for signing me up to the wrong facility. I would understand if I picked a location and then decided I wanted to go to a different one, but that is not what happened. It WAS a good thing for me, but it is now just a source of frustration which is not what I signed up for. There is no way you can speak to anyone over location management and they have proven to be inept at both locations and I have dealt with 3 different managers. Had it not been for my experience with signing up this time and their website choosing the location I am to use, I would've given them a 5 star rating. This issue is due to a flaw in their system, not my indecision on where I want to go. read more

Gym has a lot of equipment, especially for cardio so you don't ever have to wait for an elliptical or treadmill. Strength training equipment is another matter. This is a popular gym for people who lift weights and the Smith machines are almost always occupied. Unfortunately gym manners at this location are very "off brand". Members hog machines, occupy multiple machines, take multiple sets of barbells and generally don't have good gym etiquette. So you have to be flexible with your workout to get out of there. Management needs to step up and police their own brand and not wait for members to ask them to do so - that's your job, not mine. read more

This location is clean and has a friendly staff on a consistent basis. Really enjoy the machines and different options for workouts which this location does a great job of dividing up to different parts of the space. My only complaint being that they aren't open late on the weekends which is upsetting when you want to workout on Friday or Saturday. night. I have had a membership at 24 hour fitness and Lifetime Fitness which are still 24/7 and while I really enjoyed the amenities at Lifetime Fitness were nice but the price tag is four times this and 24 hour fitness is more expensive with a strange price model that varies by locations. I find Plant Fitness convenient and with solutions to workout all across the country which is perfect for someone that travels for work and wants more than a hotel gym. read more

When you ask employees and staff about the facility they all have a stupid look on their face and as if it's our fault. I walked in today and The whole entire women's bathroom is completely locked out and you can't even wash your hands or use the toilets. I'm almost deaf. Rob at front desk was very rude. Rob started trashing me to another member because I was having a hard time hearing him. I'm disabled. I'm old but I still have a heart. I'm done. I'm calling corporate office. I've come later at night never had a problem. First time on weekend. To many employees behind the counter talking. Rob shouldn't be working at the front desk. Maybe Rob should clean toilets. Ive seen other reviews about him being rude. The club is better on the weekdays at night from this experience. Please do not make your decision based off bad reviews before touring the gym and seeing it for yourself. I've been going to this gym since 2018 and I'm still a member. Yes the gym is smaller than most other gym franchises but not tiny to where you feel trapped or anything, plus you get what you pay for so remember that. Depending on what time you go depends on the amount of people that are in the gym. Planet fitness has an app where you can view their busy hours and calmer hours which is helpful if you don't like crowded gyms. The only con for me is that they changed their weekend hours from 24hrs to 10pm which kinda sucks because I workout late due to work but other than that I'm able to go in and get my workout done freely with no issues during the week. :) read more

People wipe down the machines and if they do not, the staff are prompt in wiping equipment down. Service: A Again, Great staff. Attentive, proffessional, polite. Price: A Can't beat the price for the variety of equipment. Lyla is an excellent associate. Buford is not my home club but I frequent this branch due to it's cleanliness and friendly staff. I have a really liked this gym. However, do not hang your keys on the key rack and make sure that your locker has a lock. on Friday night I arrived around 11 PM there was a huge group of 20-year-olds talking to the rep at the counter. They appear to be his friends as he did not even acknowledge me or scan my card so my friend and I just walked through. I did notice the group look at us. I put up my key on the key holder as normal. I am sure that they notice I did not carry anything in and also my key happens to be a Lexus. After going into the locker room with my friend I realized I forgot my calorie tracker in my car and proceeded to look for my keys. My keys were gone and this group saw me looking for them all of a sudden they ended up at the front counter when I did two rounds of looking for my keys and they saw me walking by. The guy at the front counter after I walked up to him says that my keys dropped and someone gave it to him. I know that is not what happened. The whole group was watching me the entire time and he saw me looking for my key and never said anything I guess they were trying to figure out how to get into my car and still my stuff and when they realize that I was looking for my key and had caught on that it was gone they finally decided to put it on the front counter I was nowhere near the front counter run the tape the guy didn't even check me in. The people finally left and I was outside checking out my car to make sure everything was OK and they were extremely suspicious. And then the girl that was cleaning was outside talking to her boyfriend. I had not experienced this in the past when I have gone there but it looks like they made some new hires that are probably not the best hires. Keep your keys and make sure Went back on another Friday night same guy and girl, another big group at the counter. I left. This time he actually checked me in and had me check in. Kept my keys on me the whole time. Never head back from the manager. But I'm sure his manager talked to him and he recognized me because he actually had me check in this time as they're supposed to. This location has been open less than a year and still has a clean, new, feeling. There are plenty of cardio machines and I have never had to wait. There are a limited amount of weight benches and those can be hard to come by in the evenings. They offer a 30 minute circuit training that intrigues me. I have heard negative things about items being stolen from the locker room and cars outside. Since joining, there has been a police officer parked outside every time I go which makes me feel better. read more

Quite a change from the nightmare gym we'd been going to. This Planet Fitness is EVERYTHING our old gym wasn't. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The place was SUPER CLEAN. All of the equipment was in working order, maintained, AND CLEAN. No high pressure tactics in signing me and my spouse up. Signed up on 03/26/2018, very impressed. Just to see if other PF locations were as good of an experience, my spouse and I went to the Lawrenceville location. SAME WONDERFUL GYM EXPERIENCE. This Planet Fitness location is bad. I went first part of May and showers inside gym completely torn out for remodeling I'm guessing. Still have no showers put back together and portable showers outside with no water for anyone to take a shower. This gym doesn't need to be in business if this is how a gym is going to be run for customers. I guess the Planet Fitness in Cumming is where I will continue to go. I was working in Buford and came to this gym after and I'm glad I did it was very clean and had all the equipment I'd typically use. They need to have staff at the front desk. I come here to use the tanning bed and there's often a note to call the phone number as staff is on the floor cleaning. I don't mind this as I like to have a clean location, but when you call the number , staff answers maybe half the time. I'm here right now and have been waiting over 15 minutes, called the number 3 times and no answer. Several other members have given up and left. I could literally rob them blind if I wanted to. I cancelled my membership for the gym on 3/7/18. I just noticed it was being billed still. When I went in I was told it was highly unlikely my money would be refunded. I really like this location because it has kettle bells and good space. But I really don't like it because of the trainer girl that will bring her group to the yellow section and just kind of push the people that were there already off of the machines. I'm sure she hunks she's being nice somehow but it's not cool. She's not even into the workout she's giving them. I hate when she is training anyone because she is so uninterested. It bothers me to my core. And she will just randomly walk away from the people or person she is supposed to be training. I can see it in their faces that they also think WTF?!! The next thing that bothers me just as much is the shower curtains. Who's brilliant idea was it to cut every single curtain too short?!!! Why why why I ask you with tears in my eyes did someone think it's a good idea to make them so that they don't close on both sides?? It's not even about the lack of privacy. It's about that the water splashes out and gets a thing near by soaked. And also the lack of privacy of course. It's just too much for me to think that when they were ordering these curtains. Someone had to have measured how wide they need to be for each shower.. so why on this earth are they all too narrow? This has been bothering me for a while. Lastly. There is some..... stable genius.. who goes to the sink and idk.. takes a bath in it?? Because the water is absolutely everywhere. It is out of this world! I can't get the water to come out when I juts want to rinse my hands. But some how there is a person who gets the water to come out so much that it makes the entire counter and the whole floor wet. Convenient but at a cost. Besides the fact the front desk and trainers all look like they just graduated high school and act accordingly , their corporate mentality is out of control. After going there for last six months , today they told my wife she can no longer bring in a very small hand bag.she keeps a small gym towel , head phones and her cell phone in it. She keeps it next to her and mindfully out of way or next to machine she is on so she doesn't have to put her clean towel on the floor. Feel as they isolated her out just so they can have reason to approach the body builders who bring in full size duffle bags. Canceled all four of our memberships. racist, prejudice, harassment... So I come here on 3/27/22 in the morning to do a short workout and I am a content creator I stream on a very popular streaming service and have a nice size following on social media. Anyways I usually stream my workouts to my audience and have done this at Mutiple planet fitness without any situations. However this morning was different Im setting up my tripod to run on the treadmill to do some cardio workouts. A few minutes after I do I lookup and it's the lady at the front desk all in my face staring at me. I ask her is everything okay.. and she proceeds to tell me that my tripod is a safety hazard and in the way and I cant have it setup in the gym. I tell her since when? I have done this plenty of times with no issues is there something that I'm missing here? She then goes back to the desk to call her manager to ask and after a few minutes she comes back to me and says "Although we let you do it in the pass, it was not supposed to be allowed" I look back at her so confused because why was I able to do it at other planet fitness and at this same gym of me basically recording myself working work for my content? So I gather my things and walk to the front desk hoping to speak to a manager to get more clarification. I ask her can I also speak to manager and she looks me in the eyes and says " Do I need to call the police?" I look at her in disbelief because I cant believe it I get threatened because I want to talk to your manager? I pay to be a this gym monthly just like everybody else but because im black and look how I look im not good enough to talk your manager without getting the police threatened on me? I then tell her in a calm tone "Mam Im not sure you understand Im a educated black young women with a bachelors of science degree in criminal justice I no my laws very well and I certainly know how to be professional you threaten me because I want to speak toy your manager...why is that?" After she thought about it Im guessing she realized how wrong she was and at this time I ready to just end my membership. Anyways, I get to speak to the manager I tell the manager that the customer service was terrible and how she threatened me and I hadnt done anything to be treated this way" You know what her response was? "Well she said that because you wasn't listening" ....Wait so because in her opinion I wasn't listening it made her threaten to call the police one me? Key word prejudice. It was that moment that I knew I had no place in that gym and I will be ending my gym membership and telling everybody I know about this situation as a young black women and being black in general we are tired of being threatened to have the cops called on us just because we want answers...its not fair we don't do anything to deserve this we pay our dues and taxes just like everybody else treat me as a equal Im know different from the rest. I went to school I have a degree I work in corporate America I follow the laws and the rules this one hurt because its situations like this that can hurt all my brothers and sisters over nothing. I tell the manager I just want to end this membership and she could have cared less LOL also letting me know these people dont care about you... your just a number to them they will talk to you any kind of way...its unfortunate that this behavior is at a gym.... I repeated a gym. And to the manager if you see this do better...as black women I felt like I was living in 1960 for real I couldnt believe it I had to look at my phone and see if it was still 2022 lol thats how bad it was but God has his hand on me I take everything as as sign I had no business here and stop giving these people my money. read more

She said, "She is probably still putting her clothes on, just go in after she comes out." After the woman left the room, I told the lady up front and she said, "Okay, you can go in now."
