For months, the bathrooms have been revolting: toilets frequently overflow, sewage and filth get tracked across the locker rooms and even into the turf and workout areas, creating a clear health risk. Showers often lack hot water entirely or provide only inconsistent warmth, while the hot tub has been out of service or barely lukewarm for just as long. Members have repeatedly reported these exact issues--through the app, emails, and directly to staff--yet nothing improves. Maintenance requests sit "in progress" for nearly two months, with empty promises of fixes that never materialize. Staff seem indifferent or unresponsive, and the overall decline continues despite the membership dues we pay. Expecting basic cleanliness, reliable hot water, and a hygienic environment isn't asking too much--it's the absolute minimum any gym should provide. If you're thinking about joining this location, look elsewhere until they finally take member complaints and basic upkeep seriously. UPDATE: They lost their stars due to their lying corporate business practices. I got a 3-day guest pass through my mother that expired after 2 days. It literally does not make sense except as a means to get more memberships. This kind of underhanded, lying greedy practices should not be rewarded (this hurts as someone from L.A.!) Standardbearer of what amenities and services a gym should have: pool, changing rooms, saunas, cycling room, dance hall, gym, plenty of machines, and a personal training area. The staff is friendly enough and the instructors energetic and fun at what they do. CLEANLINESS: Absolutely horrendous. They are constantly out of cleaning wipes for equipment. The bathrooms are NEVER cleaned. (There have been the same Urine stains on the toilets for literally months) STAFF: extremely rude and un-inviting. They don't say hi. They don't even look at you when you walk in. They keep the barcode scanner behind the desk for some reason, and you have to wait for them to scan you in every single time. Specifically the short little manager. Every year my son comes from Chile, and subscribes in this gym. Never had a problem, but last year they call me telling that there is a payment due from my son, I paid over the phone thinking that was one time payment. This weekend I was checking my bank account with surprise I found several charges from LA fitness, even though my son personally cancel the subscription before returning to Chile. I NEVER SIGN this contract. I called them, telling them that he cancel the subscription with a representative of this gym giving them the description a Small guy. They told me that he does not work there anymore and unfortunately, and since that they cannot do anything, since he is not there. This facility is a total CIRCUS. This location is run by young managers and staffing with no experience. Not clean in bathrooms and sauna. No cleaning wipes throughout the facility. Such a SHAME some of us - are paying about $40 monthly just to be prone to infections and diseases. The club does not seem to care about the racquetball members. We probably have 30 regular players at least twice per week. Court 1 had 6 lights missing for over 6 months. Every question to the front desk was answered "we are waiting for a lift". It should not take 6 months. A person at the front desk said (in a demeaning way) that they could have closed the court but kept it open. When I suggested it is not real safe with that many lights out he laughed and said it was safe. This is a young kid maybe 26ish talking to a 65ish client of his facility. Now after probably 8 months they have converted the court into a Pilates room. And yes you guessed it - the lights are fixed. There was no notification to the clientele about the change, so either the front desk had been lying to their clients or the upper management were lying to the facility. read more

I have been a loyal member of LA Fitness for several years and have even recommended the gym to three family members who joined. I have always valued the quality of your facilities and services. However, my recent experience at the New Rochelle location was highly disappointing and has made me reconsider my membership. While enrolling my son, who has special physical needs, I had a troubling encounter with Manny R., the personal training manager. His arrogance and lack of professionalism were utterly unacceptable. The way he spoke down to me with a condescending attitude made me feel unwelcome and disrespected as a dedicated member. Because of this experience, I ultimately decided not to bring my son to this gym. I believe all members deserve a supportive, inclusive, and respectful environment--especially those with special needs. It is disappointing that this facility is putting patrons at risk for serious diseases, and being complacent about it. After the staff was notified several times that disinfectant wipes were empty throughout the facility they continued to sit there and say "we will get it soon." After waiting for over 30 minutes for the staff to take action many of us had no choice but to leave for the day. We chose not to risk being infected, or spreading infection due to staff refusing to take action. This facility is normally a very pleasant place to work out. But if they keep endangering customers health this way, it may be time to look for another facility. read more

My wife and I joined to use the pool for lap swimming, but more often than not, all the lanes are taken up by old ladies standing and wiggling around. No one is moving anywhere and they are occupying all the lanes. Management should limit all the wigglers to one lane since none of them actually swim and only take up space for people who want to swim. My wife has mentioned this more than once to the front desk and gets only the fake "I'm sorry" response. Unlike other pools we've been to, there were limited times and lanes when "standers" could use the pool so people who want to swim laps can use the pool. On the last two occasions my wife was able to swim, she couldn't take a shower because they have male staff members cleaning the showers during regular business hours. I've been a satisfied member of the LA Fitness gym on Hollywood and Palm Bay Road for 5 years; I go every day, Monday through Friday. I attend 10 fitness classes per week. My favorite day has always been Tuesday for Vicky's Senior Fit class at 11:00 followed by her Pilates class at 12:00. These classes are popular and well-attended. For some crazy reason, they have taken away her Pilates class and replaced it with a second Senior Fit class. NOBODY wants this. We've always managed to accommodate anybody who wants a Senior Fit class on Tuesday in the 11:00 class. (If they're looking to add another Senior Fit class, it should be on Monday, the one day of the week that doesn't have one.) Numbers for this second Senior Fit class are very low, and there are a lot of upset Pilates people, who've faithfully attended Vicky's class for several years. Complaints have been made at the gym and seem not to have been heard. I'm writing about it in this platform in the hopes that someone from the LA Fitness Management Team will see it and do something! read more

This gym has potential and a lot of options. I've been a member for 4 years but the maintenance and cleanliness need some attention. This morning there was no soap in any of the men's showers. Last week there were no paper towels in the locker room. I mentioned this to the front desk, they advised that they have been ordered. Trash on the locker room floors, missing towel hooks (for over a year). Maintenance seems to take weeks to get completed. Price point for membership is considerably higher than the purple gym. This is my review of the LA Fitness/Esporta location on Palm Bay Rd in West Melbourne, FL. Zack M is right: there is always something broken at this location. Since I rejoined the end of 2022, there is always something I can't benefit from, but am paying for. Basic things, like hot water in the showers, or the men's sauna, both were out of order for weeks at a time. Cleanliness is not even an afterthought here. The grout in the men's showers is white above shoulder level, but BLACK from about three feet off the ground and all the way to the floor. All they need to do is spray some Tilex on it and scrub it even every other week to keep the mildew at bay, but they seem incapable of understanding that concept. I have mentioned this to the staff cleaning the men's locker room area, but to no avail. I guess I should bring my own spray bottle of 10% bleach (that's all it takes) and clean one shower stall to use myself. Another concern is how much trouble it is to get into the pool to swim laps. There are so many people walking in the pool that it's difficult to get a lane. When I do get a lane, I often end up sharing it with another swimmer as the Pool Walking Social Club dominates the pool for hours at a time. Lap swimmers get in, do their thing, and are out within an hour or less. When the City of Palm Bay's municipal pool opens again, it's good bye LA Fitness. read more

If you swim for your exercise routine I would be a little hesitant if I were you! Since LA Fitness / Esporta opened their pool does not get cleaned properly ! I have spoken to people that say they will get it cleaned and it does not get done. Also the spa is also a little moldy!!! You see finger on that lip in the pool that hasn't been done ever. When they first opened everything was good then it kept getting dirty on each visit. Hair is always in the little drains around the pool. Oh and the BEST thing is if you get the door prize. Went for the first time today to check out this location with my Silver Sneakers membership. Saturday mornings they open at 8 am and when I walked in with my friend it took a moment to get someone's help at the front desk . I met with Albert to sign up for my fitness evaluation and was all set to go to a aqua aerobics class . The place is well lit and clean , The women's locker room was nice with plenty of lockers . Inside was a nice Sauna , showers and changing area . The class was amazing with Frances she constantly had us working but in a good way I highly recommend taking any of her classes. I'm a huge fan of LA Fitness (especially this location). Most LA Fitness locations that I've had the pleasure of trying out include access to a pool, a jacuzzi, and a sauna with each membership (which definitely adds to the value of the overall membership with regards to the price). Another huge plus that I've found with LA Fitness is that they offer free, 5-7 day trial memberships that you can use to try out the facility before you commit to a membership. This particular LA Fitness location has a wide assortment of machines (on two levels). They also offer numerous classes, personal trainers, and they have free WiFi. The lockers rooms at LA Fitness are some of the best that I've ever come across (especially when you factor in the price of the membership). I agree with one of the previous reviewers in that is a bit of a let down that they don't supply towels to their guests. That being said, their lockers rooms include lockers (which is a given of course), showers (with body wash dispensers), and they are super nice in general and always exceptionally clean and well maintained. I myself especially enjoy the lighting in the locker rooms at LA Fitness (though admittedly I'm especially sensitive to lighting). Even the employees at LA Fitness are great... At each LA Fitness location I've been to here in Florida, the employee have always been super friendly, professional, and accommodating... I actually thought I'd lost my iPhone at one point in time and a gentleman working that day offered to stay late for me, just so that he could look for it for me... True story... they really do hire some awesome and super friendly staff here. I'll conclude this review by saying that I'm a huge fan of LA Fitness (and this location is one of the best that I've come across so far as well). If you're considering getting a membership at LA Fitness, try them out and see what you think... I myself definitely wouldn't hesitate... especially if you are looking for a gym that offers a bit more in the way of amenities (such as a pool, a sauna, a jacuzzi). read more

They will randomly have a personal trainer class apparently where they use the green turf area. But they don't put up any signage or anything so you go to work out just like any normal day and the personal trainer running the course comes over and chases you out of the green turf area. As if you are supposed to know they have some stupid trainer class. Some old loser dude who's still working at LA fitness in his mid-40s runs around kicking you out telling you you can't work out there. Was very unprofessional in my opinion read more

Beautiful gym, very clean, and friendly staff. I went with my boyfriend and they were very helpful in getting me a guest pass. This location has a ton of parking. It is a stand alone gym with a couple of other stores near by. This gym has an amazing bathroom with saunas and long pools. Plenty of racket ball rooms, a basketball court, spin room, and two floors of equipment. I personally prefer group style gyms like Orangetheory and CrossFit. This gym does offer some group classes and if I didn't already live my gym I would recommend this one. 4/5 stars because I'm not sure what the prices are and I wish they had more wipes for cleaning read more

Beware beware beware. I am going to share a quick portion of my story so it doesn't happen to you. If you have had any kind of knee surgeries or even arm surgeries even though your doctor has released you and you think you're doing a good thing to your own body by signing up for personal training and then you find out your body can't do it for whatever reason your contract that you have signed is ironclad they will not let you out of it unless you buy yourself out of it either way you're losing money and let's talk about that money $240 a month for once a week at 25 minutes per once a week is only 1 hour so you're paying $240 for one hour of personal training that you can't even fully do now break that down to 12 months that you're locked into you're paying almost $3,000 for 12 hours let that sink in do not let these people trick you they don't care all they want is your money. read more

Good gym to workout in general but it's not recommended if you want to do some crossfit-like routines. For instance, you cannot use any kettle balls or a Hex barbell bar unless you sign up with a trainer. They even enforce that you can't use them. No access to kettle balls??? The cleanliness of this facility has gotten worse and worse over the past three years. There is a cleaning woman that works during the week that works her tail off but whenever she isn't there this place is disgusting. I don't know who cleans over the weekend but they are clearly not doing their job. When I come in on Monday morning it's disgusting. No paper towels in the ladies bathroom by the sinks. Also, the same two pieces of trash have been on the floor in the sauna for over THREE WEEKS. I can't imagine what it looks like under the benches. If they aren't cleaning where you can see, I wonder what other corners they're cutting. Do better. read more

DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO PLAY SPORTS WITH FRIENDS!! They refused to let me play pickup volleyball after I took the time to fill out a trial guest pass online. Then they told me that they do not allow guests to play basketball or volleyball at all. My friend literally purchased a membership just so she could bring friends with her to come play volleyball with her. However, they do NOT tell you that this is not allowed at the point of sale! So I drove all the way here to try out the gym for myself just to be told Im not allowed to enter the volleyball court!! I'll never know whether the gym is actually worth getting a membership at to play volleyball. They probably just lost a potential sale and most likely a ton of others as well. Recently moved from Dallas where I was a member at Lifetime so was a little spoiled after spending 9 years there. All three of the LA Fitness locations are very new and have nice work out equipment, and kept very clean which is one of the top priority's for me. The prices are very fair and so far they are not overcrowded and getting to machines usually comes with little or no wait. They do have several classes they offer at no charge and have a nice selection of free weights and machine. My biggest disappointment is they do not provide work out or shower towels and its a bit inconvenient to bring your own. The other thing i would like to see would be some type of cafe that has smoothies, salads, protein drinks etc... Overall not a bad value. read more

I rated this gym 2 stars because of the limited access to equipment. For instance you will not be able to use the TRX system, plyobox, agility ladder, ropes and various other equipment unless you pay additional $$$ for personal training. This is bull s#!+ and should not be permitted. They can have a designated personal training section, however they should give access to equal equipment elsewhere in the gym for people to use who don't need assistance training. What kind of a business tells you that you can't cancel your membership in person, and you can't cancel through anyone but one manager who doesn't work outside M-F, 9-5? I asked the front desk for the form to fill out and they told me they didn't even have permission to print it out for me without a manager. So I got online, printed it out, and brought it in and they refused to take it from me saying I had to instead mail it to their corporate office in CA. I'm in FL. That's a guaranteed delay in cancellation. This place is a money grab, don't give them your business. There is nothing exceptional about this gym except their prices, they aren't open late any of the nights of the week, and they now won't allow me to cancel my membership without obstacles I didn't have signing up. Visited friends and we went to this gym. Great place to lift but I must say I felt dirty when I left. I am from Michigan and all the gyms I attended over the years had spray disinfectant to use to wipe off the equipment. This place was disgusting for that reason. My husband and I joined when our other gym closed. They do an assment and give you one personal trainer session. They have you sign a waver, I can understand this but at the same time we are trusting that personal trainer. My husband has bad knees and I have several problems in my neck. Well the trainer had I guess a standard work out. 12 hours later he is sore and I can hardly walk. Will never buy into their personal training. read more
