Love this bakery! I've been coming here every so often to get pan dulce since it's close to me. The bread is always good and not too sweet. This weekend was the first time that I ordered a cake from them. The employee helping us (Yessy) was very kind, checking to see if the person who makes the cakes was willing to take an order for the next day. Fortunately she was, so we placed the order and paid ahead of time. I don't think you can get elaborate decorations on the round cakes, but we were able to get a happy birthday message written on top. I paid $35 for the cake itself and an extra $6 for a slice from the display case so that I could taste what I was getting. There are no free samples, but the cake slices offered are very generous. Picking up the cake the next day was easy because we'd already paid and just needed to give them the name on the order. The cake looked great, but we didn't get any candles or servers with it. Also as a warning, tres leches is a cake soaked in milk, so you probably shouldn't do what we did and leave it in the fridge because the milk did leak out of the cake. The freezer or just eating it right away might be better. The cake tasted great, was moist, and wasn't too sweet, even for our picky elders. The frosting, on the other hand, might be too sweet depending on your preferences. Overall I've only had great experiences with this bakery. The hours are very generous (7am-9pm most days), and the employees are always friendly and kind. read more

This place is a walking distance from my work and I'm glad it is because before I pull up to my job, sometimes I want a sweet breakfast treat and I come here! Their conchas are so delicious and fresh in the morning. It's addicting and I really have to stop myself from getting just one. I also highly recommend their iced coffee. I was going there daily to get their horchata iced coffee but then they were out! I've visited a few times but they've never restocked so I really really hope they do soon because the horchata iced coffee is to die for! My fiancé also loves Japanese peanuts so whenever I go in there to get my coffee, I grab him some peanuts as a little treat to surprise him with when I get back home from work. This is a pretty cool Mexican bakery that seems different than most.. located in what I'm guessing is old Town Pittsburg, a small business that looks fairly new. The inside is very clean and the workers were very friendly and helpful. A large assortment of pan dulce (Mexican bread), cakes, donuts, candy and many drinks to choose from. You can see the quality in the cake slices. I went ahead and got a slice of tres Leches with strawberry on top. It was everything I was hoping for and hit the spot. I got one for my mom and she asked where it was from because it was better than her usual go-to bakeries. All of the breads that my cousin got were given a thumbs up on his end as well. I took my gramps who's very elderly and the woman behind the counter came around to assist him in his selections. To me, it showed they are willing to go above and beyond their customers since it wasn't super busy in there. I've worked with them twice this year for my kids birthday cakes and both times have been AMAZING! They communicate so well and are extremely reliable I've never had any issues they even did cupcakes also for my daughter's birthday. Super easy to work with and their cakes are soooo delicious! Being from San Francisco's mission district I grew up having freshly baked pan dulce on the weekends, unfortunately I moved to the east bay and have not been able to find that freshness and taste in any bakery I've tried, until now!!!! La flor de Mexico is a Gem off railroad by the Pittsburg marina they have been open since February of this year and from what the nice lady at the counter tells me this is their reopening as they used to be in business 10 yrs ago. I am so glad I tried this place they have a pretty good selection of bread and desserts and everything I tried was freshly baked and delicious. Omg they are back. I was so excited to hear they are back since I use to go when I was a child. They are in the same place as before. The owner is the old owners son. Everyone there is super helpful and friendly. It's a small place but very clean. The prices are very reasonable. They also make cakes here. Visited the new Flor De Mexico today, and a lot of memories from my childhood came to mind. I remember always wanting mazapán when my mom wld stop by to buy tortillas, queso and most importantly pan dulce for my dad when I was a kid. I wish I could've seen the other bread that was in the back because there wasn't a variety out. I believe they had been so busy, they didn't have time to put everything out. The young lady and her grandma were a pleasure. I will be stopping by more often. I bought 3 pieces for myself and tons for my parents because my dad has it with his coffee in the mornings. This was the first time I ever visited this bakery. First impression is that it looks clean and they have freshly baked pan dulce. I came in because I was looking for a place to order a cake from for my friends birthday and I wanted the best of the best. I came in and I showed the kind lady at the front a reference of how I wanted the cake to look and she had me send the picture to her and let me tell you, I ordered a plain white cake with fresh strawberry filling and it's the best cake I've had so far. I'm not a big fan of white cake or the soft fluffy icing because it usually has a weird after taste when you eat the icing, but this one was sooo good! There was no bad after taste and the filling made the cake so good! For sure coming back to order cakes for special occasions here. Excited to see what their tres leches cakes taste like!!!
