I took my kids for tacos and we all ended up getting the birria fries. While it was good, the flavor was a little on the sweet side. There was quite a bit of consome which made the fries extremely soggy. So I think that could use a little work. I'd like to see more onion and cilantro on them too. Otherwise it's a good dish. I would try other stuff here. We also got the pineapple watermelon juice. I don't think any of us really liked it. But to each his own. read more

Hungry a little later because of the heat so i wanted something quick. And I stumbled upon this new food truck on the line of Prov and Johnston. I read the reviews and said heck let's try it. However make sure u look at the menu online because there isn't one at the truck. It's also sometimes intimidating to try other foods because of the language barrier.... But not this truck. They spoke English and Spanish and were very helpful and nice. Now the food. I ordered, per suggestion of a Yelper 5 Birria tacos and a steak Shuko. Ok the tacos- OMG- flavorful, juicy, and cheesy!! Bingo. And the sauce that comes with ordering 5 - makes the tacos even better! The Shuko was good but reminded me of a tastier Chimi with guacamole. A basic sandwich. Overall great first impression. They're pretty good tacos. I would love it if they did not sell them in threes. I would then order more things. The consume is not great but the tacos are tasty. They need to step up that consume game. Tasted watered down. When I went, they also had only one kind of taco. The potato was pretty good but I wouldn't get it again. These good reviews make me think that I may have gotten them on an Off Day. I'll go back to try again. I think their tacos are better than Masa but Masa has a muchhhh better consume. I had Birria tacos from a different Mexican restaurant and did not like them AT ALL. So when my husband wanted to come here I was like eh. I decided to try them anyway. These were great. I'm glad I did. They didn't have that overwhelming cinnamon flavor like the others I tried. If you buy a 5 pack you get the dipping sauce free (normally 3$). I didn't like the potato thing, just not for me. I'm not into the whole Cheeto thing but that's my personal opinion. If you want to try Birria tacos this is the place to go. read more

You've gotta do the taco hunch when eating these or all that consumme is going to drip down your face and arms. You don't want to mess up your clothes but you don't want to waste that damn good flavor either. I love the cheese pull of the tacos and that makes it for me. Wish the tortillas could be crispier. Stopped by this providence food truck to get some birria and I was blown away. I've tried birria at 6 different Rhode Island spots and this so far was the best. Each taco was $3, and you get free consome if you get 5 tacos (perfect size for one person). The meat wa flavorful and tender. It played perfectly with the rich consome which had a decent amount of meat in it which you rarely get. Overall no complaints and will be back, 10/10 spot and some of best tacos I have ever had read more

My friend saw an ad for La Fogata on Instagram. Once we found out that they serve birria tacos, we knew we had to give them a visit. Their instagram posts are primarily in Spanish but thankfully there were a few blurry photos of their menu in English. We got the birria tacos and papas tornado (twisty potato). If you order 5 birria tacos, you get a small cup of consomé for free (saves $3). Since we got take-out, the tacos weren't as fresh and crunchy as I'd have liked, which is no one's fault. The birria tacos were packed full of savory beef and cheese. The consomé wasn't the most flavorful consomé I've had before, but it was tasty. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at La Fogata. We ordered ahead via phone and only had to wait 10 minutes. The only con was probably that they don't require customers to wear masks. As I was picking up my order, a group of boys walked over to order and none were wearing masks. read more

Very upset as I feel the girl at this location purposely charged me 2$ extra stating it was for the sauce but yet when I had just called their other location this other lady said they don't charge for sauce. I will be calling to make sure I talk to a manager. How can you recommend another location stating it's the same but yet charge more at this one? Very disappointed with the organization of this place. It's always a different price once I get here or it's priced more than the other location. read more

Love the Thurbers Ave location, great food, good service and nice dine out patio. Unfortunately, had a not so great experience with the takeout from the Hartford Ave foodtruck twice. Food did not have the same flavor, it was cold upon arrival and it wasn't made with the same pride as Thurber's Ave. I've also read that their consume comes from an area where it's made less thick and more watery which is also kind of a miss when it comes to your taco not being fully coated in juicy flavor. Overall, still recommend if you can get to the Thurber's Ave location before it gets too cold and they shut down, And thank goodness the birria burrito is back! read more

The food is absolutely great! I love it, but their prices are a bit insane. I am a fanatic of this food and a repeat customer but $3 for a tiny cup of consome (BIRRIA TACO SAUCE) Is ridiculous. Maybe the gentleman handed me the wrong size cup? Not sure, but overall they need to work on there order taking, ND processing. The couple working the truck are super kind but maybe not fit to run the business alone. I have gone 2 times to the food truck and both times I have had horrible customer service with attitudes. Last night when I went with my family I kept talking to the girl and she was in another world got our order wrong and when I would ask her something she wouldn't listen she had an AirPod in her ear. There was a whole meal missing and when we approached her to let her know she started laughing that's the last time I am giving this establishment my money. read more
