    Jefe Margarita

I haven't tried this La Fogata and was happy I did. Not as easy to get to off of the busy Evans Ave, but worth it. Welcoming, personable staff with fast service. They are willing to happily fill your chip basket or salsa bowl--free of charge. Their Jefe Margarita is refreshing and classic with tequila blanco, fresh squeezed lime juice, a splash of soda water and agave. Decor is fun with brightly painted walls. Daniel, our server and bartender, was incredible. When there were issues with the set-up of the Agave Challenge computer system, he made it work and kept a smile on his face. I will definitely return due to his professionalism and willingness to help.

Came in after a very hard day in all the ways. Ordered a large draft and the Seis combo. OMG it was amazing - starting with the table salsa which has a nice punch I was not expecting Also didn't expect much from the guac tostada but it was fresh and crisp, the beef in the taco was juicy and loaded with flavor (could've eaten a few of these they were so good), and the cheese enchilada was on point, but the crispy chile relleno was a straight up DREAM. Do not miss this!! Excellent service in a spacious and warm setting. The service was helpful and didn't hover even tho I sat there for about an hour enjoying everything. I think they have a food truck out back too so if you're on the go I trust that is a solid option.

The place is fine the food is fine but the margaritas were horrible. And we made the mistake of going right in for an entire pitcher. All we got was the regular standard margarita flavor which is what I usually do. I like to get a good baseline and like regular margs without all the frills. This was by far the absolute SWEETEST least booze flavored margarita I've had anywhere. It was like watered down sugar water. Priced heavily as what a boozy house lime marg pitcher would be. It's hard to go back just because of how bad the margaritas were. Again food was fine. Big space. Remove the sugar, add some tequila is my advice to this restaurant. It's highway robbery the marg pitchers they're currently selling. I tasted like sweet juice. I couldn't even drink anymore.

We're from Texas so VERY skeptical on the Mexican did here in Colorado and I have to say that this place was indeed enjoyable. Though they aren't busy, It did take some time to get our food but you can tell they make everything from scratch. Their margaritas are not weak lol Fair prices for the portion sizes. We will definitely be back Check out my before and after plate lol

Bean tostada, minus the cheese and added hot sauce! Yum!

Still my favorite Mexican restaurant!! We come every time we're in town visiting family. I tried the Pacifico beer tonight, delicious! I had my favorite bean tostada without cheese. My husband had one bean and one guacamole tostada. Both my kids got the tacos and my daughter also got a margarita. Service was amazing as always!! Such a fun place. Pretty sure we've eaten here practically every time we've visited Denver for the past 19 years!!

I really enjoyed this place! We ordered house margarita pitchers and they were delicious! A little light on the tequila, but they were still good! Because it was cinco de Mayo, we also received two rounds of free tequila! Chips and salsa are always a hit! The salsa had the right amount of spice. I ordered the flauta plate with chicken flautas. I enjoyed them, but I anticipated them being a little more crunchy which is what I typically think of when I think flautas, but they were still good! Our server was so fun, joking around with us all night making it an enjoyable experience! The prices were very fair! Seemed cheap compared to other Mexican restaurants but the food was just as good if not better!

I'm lucky to have my northeast DTC house sandwiched between the two locations of La Fogata (I can walk to the DTC location if I try; it's a bit too far to walk to the Evans location but it only takes about 10 minutes to drive there.) The reason for the Evans location was because I had $20 eGift car to this specific location, so I decided to use it today for my late lunch/early dinner meal. I've been to the Evans location but that was years ago (10+ to be frank.) I remember it being decent, but it wasn't super impressive was the impression/image I had towards it back then. It sure was nice to revisit this place after so many years. And I fortunately have only good things to say about today's to-go experience. Inside the restaurant: Very clean and fairly modern interior. They must have renovated at some point while I had not been dining there. To the right is a spacious/clean bar with some tables and to the left is (again) spacious/clean main dining area with ample number of tables to serve people even during the peak lunch or dinner time. I enjoyed the wall art decors that match the cuisine they serve. Service: This young man in his early 20's was so kind/courteous/easygoing towards me. Upon telling him I wanted to use the eGift card, he asked me my name and told me he was able to look it up, so he needn't see the actual eCard. He then patiently wanted until I told him what I wanted. Once I had set my eyes on the Carne Asada ($21), he immediately placed my order and told me it'd be at least 10 minutes. Oh, by the way, since he asked me how the meat should be cooked, I said medium rare. While I was waiting, I walked around the restaurant to take some great looking photos. Once again, all I saw was a very clean restaurant throughout. I saw no dirtiness. And they still have some amount of COVID protocol which is a good indication that they care about the customers' health. When the young man handed me my food, it was definitely less than 10 minutes. "Wow, that was quick!" is what I had to say to him. He smiled and thanked me again for my business in a very polite way. Food: My Carne Asada was really good. I mean it. The meat was exactly "medium rare"; I call this a perfection. Overall: I have to give this place 5-star review based on today's experience as I absolutely have nothing bad or negative to say about it. We tend to forget about businesses that are located in our direct neighborhood (don't we all have "I can go there anytime as it's close" mentality towards them?) I need to pay more attention to this neighborhood Mexican restaurant going forward.

Very nice and spacious space to enjoy their specialties. I really like the smothered burrito with beef and bean. Great service from the staff.

The food was delicious! We got $2 chips and salsa off the happy hour menu and the queso con soyrizo (not on HH menu) which was served with warm tortillas. Honestly we probably didn't need all that because the tacos were so good I could've just filled up on more of the tacos, but still was a great meal! I ordered the lengua, pastor, and taco special (breaded shrimp). They were all so good. Think taco quality of a good street taco spot but with the ambiance of a cute tex mex bar.
