Excellent fast service, went here on a Friday afternoon and the person helping me behind the counter was very helpful and provided fast, efficient service. The pupusas here are delicious - would recommend the chicharron and bean and cheese. People need to understand the need between wants and needs. I want abs but I need pupusas! 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up! I came in one day when I was craving Salvadoran food. It's one of my favorite cuisines so I had no problem ordering everything my heart desired. My logic was it was a cheat day and calories don't count. I ordered all my favorites...yuca, pupusas, plantains, and some rice and beans. I took my order to go and proceeded to rip the bag open as soon as I could. The pupusas were superb! We ordered 2 cheese, 1 jalapeño and cheese, 1 squash and cheese and 1 bean and cheese. The cheese and squash pupusa was cheesy, yet not too greasy. It was delicious. My second pupusa was the jalapeño and cheese which burned my tongue off. If you like spicy it will kick your taste buds across the room. I liked the burn! The rest of my friends enjoyed the other pupusas we ordered. The yucca was crispy, deep fried and hot. If people tried more yucca they would give up eating french fries. As for the plantains they were a bit of a disappointment and weren't as sweet and soft as I usually like. Their plantains actually reminded me more of Colombian plantains. I like rice, it's exactly how it should taste but the beans were a bit strange. I would pass on the beans and get more rice. The girl behind the counter was nice but she didn't speak much English. That was ok because we had fun trying to speak Spanish and English to each other. A lot of authentic Salvadoran restaurants are like that. Forget the English language here. At Sabrositas you can leave the day-to-day and travel to an authentic Sabrositas experience! I spoke zero words in English and just practiced my Spanish "skills" and I was transported to an oasis. The coctel de camaron was amazing; my single revuelta pupusa was just juicy! This place made me feel welcome amidst this covid crisis! I think everyone should come here when they are visiting this area. P.s. Someone mentioned in the reviews that this place had small Pupusas...not the case at all. They probably fixed their mistake and started making bigger Pupusas cuz I only ordered one, and it was a significant size; NOT the size of a cookie, like someone else said. I've followed them from their North Hollywood location. I love to see how they've expanded. The location is in a busy area, but there is ample parking in the back. The pupusas are delicious and they have a giant pupusa, which is the size of about 2 to 3 pupusas. Pretty large and definitely a meal you can share. The staff is very friendly and attentive. First time here and give a shot on pupusas. I was expecting like nah for the special pupusas. But, I was completely wrong about it. I ordered the special 10 x $13 because they are not revueltas, they are cheese and pork. If you want revueltas or cheese and beans they are 10 x $10. Back to my experience, the pupusas I ordered blow my mind on flavor and amount of meat inside, usually when you order specials somewhere else they are really cheap on ingredients but here that's not the case. From what I was actually able to sample, the food is not bad but the service is horrendous. We went on a weekday afternoon -- AFTER the lunch rush and before dinner hour, yet the staff still wasn't able to keep up with the customers. The restaurant wasn't even full! To start, it took them at least 50 minutes to bring our food out. We ordered only 4 pupusas. They got half the order wrong and brought out just 2 pupusas and a carne asada plate (instead of the carne asada pupusa I requested; nevermind the pork pupusa I also ordered). When I pointed out the error to the waitress who brought out the food, she told me that the price of my plate costs the same as 2 pupusas so "it's okay". WTF?? Lol. She then proceeded to say that I COULD get the correct food but she'd have to put my order at the end of the queue. Who runs a business like that?? When she saw how clearly upset I was, she brought out the order ticket just to show me that it was not her or the kitchen's fault -- the waitress who took my order did not write it correctly on the ticket. (She was more intent on using her energy and efforts to excuse the error rather than try to correct it. Again-- WTF??) Meanwhile, the waitress who took our order never appeared at our table again nor bothered to apologize for the mistake. She just went about her business, avoiding our table or making eye contact. So unprofessional. So inconsiderate. So disappointing. Irresponsible with no sense of accountability. Avoid at all costs. There are tons of other pupusa places in the area that I'm certain will be far more satisfactory. read more
