    Revueltas Pupusa de arroz
    Tanya N.

I just ordered through Uber Eats. First time. I ordered one pupusa de arroz revuelta and a breakfast meal. Didn't really have much flavor, I had to add salt to everything I ordered. 3 start because the portion was good and the pupusas was not so greasy. And for bonus- I appreciate that they read all special instructions that I put on the app. Might be worth giving them another chance.

Good local spot. I am Mexican and this food is pretty similar. The meat was so delicious and filling. If this is your local spot or you live by it definitely try it out. Good to try something new!

First and foremost WHAT a LIE!!! 10X10 Pupusas !! Not TRUE !! I think that is what's more upsetting to me, is the lie. I called to order the 10X10 Pupusas revueltas and when I got home I see mini tortillas, with a little filling in it. Very disappointing. They should be honest enough and say they're mini Pupusas. I also ordered a pan con pollo, and they didn't have any but didn't tell me or called me back. I called a second time and that's when he told me. But he was nice. I honestly won't go back, I think HONESTY is a must in business!!

Visiting LA for the weekend & ran across this gem! They have by far the best pupusas that I've ever had! Will definitely come here again for more pupusas & to try other items next time I'm in LA.

Food is delicious. I recommend coming here if you want a great breakfast. The desayuno gigante comes with eggs, chorizo, frijoles with crema and milk cheese along with some freshly made tortillas by hand

People need to understand the need between wants and needs. I want abs but I need pupusas! 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up! I came in one day when I was craving Salvadoran food. It's one of my favorite cuisines so I had no problem ordering everything my heart desired. My logic was it was a cheat day and calories don't count. I ordered all my favorites...yuca, pupusas, plantains, and some rice and beans. I took my order to go and proceeded to rip the bag open as soon as I could. The pupusas were superb! We ordered 2 cheese, 1 jalapeño and cheese, 1 squash and cheese and 1 bean and cheese. The cheese and squash pupusa was cheesy, yet not too greasy. It was delicious. My second pupusa was the jalapeño and cheese which burned my tongue off. If you like spicy it will kick your taste buds across the room. I liked the burn! The rest of my friends enjoyed the other pupusas we ordered. The yucca was crispy, deep fried and hot. If people tried more yucca they would give up eating french fries. As for the plantains they were a bit of a disappointment and weren't as sweet and soft as I usually like. Their plantains actually reminded me more of Colombian plantains. I like rice, it's exactly how it should taste but the beans were a bit strange. I would pass on the beans and get more rice. The girl behind the counter was nice but she didn't speak much English. That was ok because we had fun trying to speak Spanish and English to each other. A lot of authentic Salvadoran restaurants are like that. The language barrier never stops me from ordering food from anywhere. Salvadoran Food is my language of love!

Just delicious- coctel de camaron y pupusa revuelta mmm
    Maksim V.

Forget the English language here. At Sabrositas you can leave the day-to-day and travel to an authentic Sabrositas experience! I spoke zero words in English and just practiced my Spanish "skills" and I was transported to an oasis. The coctel de camaron was amazing; my single revuelta pupusa was just juicy! This place made me feel welcome amidst this covid crisis! I think everyone should come here when they are visiting this area. P.s. Someone mentioned in the reviews that this place had small Pupusas...not the case at all. They probably fixed their mistake and started making bigger Pupusas cuz I only ordered one, and it was a significant size; NOT the size of a cookie, like someone else said. I read reviews; and when I find a place that stands out I try it out. This is one of those times and places that just has IT. The food- delicious. The atmosphere- calm, authentic. The service- excellent. What more can you ask for?

Each plate has 4 regular sized pupusas.

Walking into Sabrositas, my first reaction was that the inside looked so much cleaner and more modern than I would have expected based on the outside of the building and its location! The pupusas were really good and they didn't taste greasy. They had many vegetarian options, which I really appreciated! They were so filling! I am typically a big eater and I ordered 4 pupusas...I barely ate 1.5 of them! The employees were very nice and although my Spanish is limited, they were so patient.

Pupusas Revueltas with curtido and salsa roja on the side

My neighbor bought me a huge order of pupusas awhile back, and I was hell-bent on finding where she bought them from because of how delicious they were. This was the first place I checked since I've always seen it on my way to neighboring Alberto's. For the record, this was not the place (I eventually found where she ordered them from), but for the most part, this place is solid. FOOD: x10 Pupusas Revueltas: Everyone makes pupusas differently, so these are the perfect size if you just want to sample them. As small as they are, each piece was stuffed with a nice amount of pork, beans, and cheese. It was flavorful and not overly greasy. These are 10 for $10 (plus tax). I like the curtido they serve with their pupusas way more than the bag my neighbor gave me since it's not overpowered by oregano; this was perfectly pickled and balanced. The tomato salsa was just okay. Though I am no expert on pupusas, but these were pretty good. They offer a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner plates too.

Pupusas quemadas! Burnt pupusas. Waste of $$

Burnt pupusas! Seriously ??? Never coming back. The location is clean and new. However, the north Hollywood location is way better. What a waste of money.

I recently tried out El Cocinero's food at an event that they catered to. As a person who eats meat and is not restricted, I would come here for the good food. The vegan al pastor had chunks of pineapple and it is seasoned and cooked to taste just like the meat version. The texture is just a little bit different but it does resemble a lot like meat. The vegan pastor also tastes just like the meat version, just less "smoky" and the texture is softer. The rice is flavorful and fluffy. The beans are seasoned just enough to have flavor but not compete with the other dishes. The creamy chipotle sauce was perfect topping the rice and beans. I do like vegan food but the only reference I had with Mexican vegan are places that try to add fake cheese and lean heavily on beans and rice. This business shows that you can still have all the flavors and not rely on cheese and meat. They focus on the flavors and not what would make non-vegans feel comfortable. Initially, I was going to give this first time experience a 4 star review so that it encourages me to go check out the restaurant so I can add the service and the ambiance. However, I was lucky enough to bring home leftovers and as I was eating it, the food tastes better. Had to add the extra star!

In a city where Mexican food is probably the primary dining option; one might think that it is all…read morethe same: that a taco here is the same as a taco there. This line of thinking is completely false as each region and state in Mexico has distinct flavors, cultural preparations and unique ingredients. Luckily in the City of Angels; we have access to all of these styles whereas everyone can pick and choose their favorite! I was in the North Hills/Mission Hills area and decided Mexican was going to be the meal of the day - and thanks to the trusty Yelp app: Tacos al Tijuanense was the winner to satisfy my hunger pang. If you are a longtime LA resident or born-and-raised within the city limits and can swear to Tacos al Tijuanense sounding familiar/remembering that it was a food truck... Then your memory doesn't deceive you. Tacos al Tijuanense birthed as a food truck in 1987 quickly gaining popularity for its smoked meats and Tijuana-inspired flavors serving tacos, vampiros, quesadillas, birria tacos, etc; loaded with fresh toppings and offering a variety of meats for the protein selection. The LA love for Tacos al Tijuanense caused such popularity that the food truck expanded into brick-and-mortar locations with several now spread throughout the city. The North Hills location of Tacos al Tijuanense holds real estate near the Woodly/Nordhoff intersection in a small strip plaza shopping center that seems half sleepy and half eyebrow-raising. But, as most of us know, the hidden gems are usual the best spots so don't be deterred by such businesses like the sketchy massage parlor next door. In fact, diners will be pleasantly surprised when crossing the threshold of the entrance to find an airy interior with high ceilings, natural light, wooden accents and the combination of a trendy- almost gastropub sticking to the food truck theme (there is even a food truck motif behind the order counter) that feels like a party. Tacos al Tijuanense is not what you would expect from the outside! Tacos al Tijuanense is fast-casual meaning you order behind the counter and take a number to the table of your choice. After browsing the menu, my boyfriend chose a Quesadilla (13" tortilla filled with protein of your choice, jack cheese, cilantro and salsa with my boyfriend picking chicken - $13) and a Vampiro (toasted corn tortilla layered with jack cheese, choice of meat, onions, cilantro and salsa with al pastor - $3). For my order, I also went with a Vampiro but with chicken while also ordering Nachos to share with carne asada. When our plates arrived, we were surprised to see the size of the portions. Everything at Tacos al Tijuanense is large and in charge and they most certainly do not skimp! The fillings are overflowing with bright, fresh ingredients, toppings are numerous and the size overall makes everything shareable. My Vampiro was crisp with delicious guacamole that added a refreshing element and tender, tasty chicken. My favorite was my boyfriend's Quesadilla which was gooey, warm and perfect. You can't go wrong with a quesadilla! But we have to talk about the nachos because these nachos are HUGE! This is party size and could generously feed three people. The carne asada was heavenly and the chips tasted homemade. The only slightly "meh" factor was that the cheese atop the nachos was canned cheese and we would have preferred melted shredded cheese. This wouldn't have been such an issue had the canned cheese been in a rational amount but it seemed like a Costco-sized can poured onto these chips! These nachos were hidden under cheese glop! Regardless, they were still delicious. Tacos al Tijuanense holds true to its almost 40-year-old fame with affordable prices, delicious food, large portions giving you a bang for your buck and a surprisingly inviting ambiance. Tacos al Tijuanense is definitely recommended and the North Hills location is much recommended despite its odd plaza placement.
