Lately, La Golondrina has been more of a miss than a hit. On top of that, the price increases don't sit well with me. My last three visits have been disappointing either the meat portions were skimpy, the food was bland or overly salty, or the overall experience was uncomfortable. The presence of homeless individuals around the area, including one person openly carrying a machete, made it feel unsafe and unenjoyable. We looked for the nearest taco truck after a nearby event and this spot came up. Those small random detours are always the best ones. We pulled up and got out of the car only to realize I left my debit card at the place we had gone to previously when I left a tab open. So we drove there again, and then back to the taco spot. We expected good food, but we didn't know how good. We got 7 carne asada tacos and a quesadilla with carne asada. First of all, I need to mention the presentation. The way everything was packaged was above and beyond my expectation at any taco spot! They wrapped everything up so tightly, then the tacos show up nice and warm to your next destination. The sauces were poured into very small ziploc bags for minimal mess. They didn't even need to do all that, and I would've still fallen in love with the spot. Now, about the food. Oh boy! The carne asada tacos were some of the best carne asada tacos I'd ever had. I hadn't had tacos in a while, but this place would just blow them out of water. The meat was finely chopped and had just the right amount of crisp to it. They give a perfect amount of limes, along with some fresh cucumber slices. They even gave us two extra bean tacos. The sauces were delicious and easy to pour. We also got a quesadilla and that thing was the quesadilla of quesadillas. Amazing all around. Everything about this place was amazing. Kind of surprised that La Golondrina isn't getting more love. This is one of the best taco trucks I've been to in the area, and it's easily accessible parked on Huntington Dr in front of the Food 4 Less. I usually head over on the way home from school, and because I can't give out half-stars, I'll round up from 4.5 to the full 5 due to the added sentimental value of post-exam celebration. The asada, pastor, and lengua are all done very well, and the cabeza is pretty good, too, and they have the right amount of onions/cilantro on well-oiled corn tortillas. The most special part about La Golondrina's tacos is that they're very juicy - both the meat and the way the tortillas soak up the juices. All tacos are $1.25 each and served with lime, grilled onions, radish, and chips. I haven't tried the wet burritos or enchiladas but I'm very curious - honestly haven't seen those options at most taco trucks. There's also good drink selection, and the lady who takes your order is also very kind and welcoming. If you're in the SGV area, skip Fair Oaks and head over to Huntington instead. read more

The drink selection is also quite impressive, soda, arizona ice teas, jarritos, cane sugar bottled sodas! McTorta or the Taco Truck on Alhambra Road taste a tad better, but La Golondrina Tacos are prepped on full size corn tortillas(not those BS mini me ones!)
