Family was craving tacos so I called up to make sure they were going to be there on Cesar Chavez. Called back with our order, an all meat carne asada burrito with extra meat, a carne asada quesadilla, and a bunch of tacos de asada, al pastor, pollo, suadero and cabesa. We love, love, love the red chile, it's spicy and so flavorful. The creamty avocado salsa is not spicy with the green being mild as well. We love the radishes and lime. My only request would be to add more cilantro in the onion bags. I prefer to eat there while they are freshly prepared and hot. But the fam prefers to eat them at home. This is a family owned business that has been serving the ela area for over fifteen years and offer catering. There service is always the BEST. The only one that still offers delicious $1 tacos. The area is safe and the vibe is always it when we want tacos. It's clean and our #1 taco spot in our area. We park in the lil shopping lot. read more

This is my favorite lunch truck in east LA! They have a variety of meats to choose from and the taste of each one is so incredible!! Hands down the spot for Mexican food!! Jesse gets to his spot a little after 7pm and his service is excellent food is ready in a matter of minutes. I really really recommend his burritos Bomb.com so big and meaty. omgwtfalpastor! We ventured way east for these tacos, into the ethereal regions of east L.A., at the corner of Cesar Chavez and Carmelita. 5/5 stars for these suckers. I ordered 1 carnitas and 1 taco al pastor. The al pastor literally knocked my socks off. Seriously, I got there wearing tube socks and left bare footed. The tortillas were uber fresh and piping hot, the tacos were stuffed with meat and the salsa verde was out of this world. Literally, so delicious it lives in space orbiting one of the inner planets. Being Mexican I'm a taco snob and I can honestly say these tacos are AMAZING! I ordered al pastor, cabeza and tripa tacos, all of which were delicious, especially the cabeza and tripa tacos!! They were only $1 each, so it's cheaper than most places and the fact that you can get all the cebolla/cilantro, guacamole and salsas you want makes it even better!! I haven't ate myself into a food coma since high school, but this place will do that to you. It's that damn good! I've tried SOOO many taco trucks, and nobody does it quite as right as Taco Jeesy! In fact, it was one of those things where I debated posting this review, since I know how Yelp can sometimes ruin great mom and pop - diamond in the rough type places! But they're so good and the couple are so friendly, I had to share this find with the masses! They open at 7pm, right outside the parking lot of a laundry mat. And the couple that runs the truck are some of the nicest people you'll meet. Their English is limited, but they can still take your orders easily. I love it that they only speak Spanish, that means their food is more authentic! No gimmicks, no skimping, just good authentic food at a low price. Tacos are $1, Burritos are 3.50, quesadillas are $3... How cheap is that? They have everything here. Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, and others... Then there's their variety of meat... Sudero, Carne Asada, Carnitas, Pollo, Lengua, Al Pastor, amongst others. Everything was SOOOO good. And they will not skimp on your meat. In the last 4 days since we discovered them, we have already been there 3 times! While on a diet! NO REGRETS!!!! Food: 5 stars! Service: 5 stars! Price: 5 stars! they're cool n cheap. salsa is good n spicy (red). you get to put your own salsa, cebolla n cilantro, cucumbers, limes ect.. their chicken is the bestest then again so is their carnitas. normally get the tacos $1 but I think everyone should try a mulita $2 which is like a mini quesadilla made w. cheese and your choice of meat in between two corn tortillas. ohhh n I can't forget to give them credit on how hooked up their tacos are. Oh lord stop four. You begin to feel full. Tired. Happy that you wore athletic shorts with an adjustable waistband... ...pssh, I could plow through tacos all day like a champ and only MAYBE regret it the next day. And with a name like Taco Jeesy's, how could one resist eating everything they have to offer? As local lore may have it, the truck was going to be named Taco Jessy's, but after a misspelling by the artist painting the truck the name Jeesy's was born. And it's probably for the better. Like usual, we order some carnitas, asada, pastor and chirizo. What was real great about Jeesy's was the condiments/ toppings ON ICE. I dwell in sketchy, so I don't mind a big bucket of onions sitting outside with flies crawling all over the place, but I understand that some people prefer more sanitary eateries. Jeesy's accomplishes that along with some delicious salsas, onions, and marinated carrots. The al pastor and asada tacos were the two stand outs. Large, spectacular pieces of pork topped with onion, cilantro and salsa...excellently seasoned (not too spicy, but spicy enough) while the asada was beefy without a flow of grease cascading down off the taco. However, the carnitas were bland, gray and disappointing considering the strength of the asada and al pastor. While eating, the car next to us featured a couple getting it on on top of their hood. Cheap!!! Really, really good!!!!! This is SOO funny.. I had heard about Breed Street last year but couldn't remember where it was. So a few nights ago, after failing to find the cemitas truck my husband's family raved about - and failing to find Breed Street - we stopped at Tacos Jeesy randomly after driving around for about an hour. The next day I was able to find out where the Breed Street had been and that it was shut down. Then I googled about how I could legally start a "Breed Street" of my own and happened upon the amazing article about Jeesy's Tacos. I read parts of it to my husband and we both decided we wanted to try and find it to support their struggles. Imagine our surprise to look them up and find out - that random taco truck we stopped at the other night was Tacos Jeesy .. !!! We will definitely be back!! Good food! they are very quick too! Only thing is their catering service is a little off I hired them for my daughters birthday and they arrived like an hour late, but they did compensate by staying till the party ended so like I said not so bad. Great food for sure!! read more

$1 tacos and excellent al pastor. The asada is good, too, but I've tasted a lot of great asada, and this just happened not to meet my particular asada preferences. As far as al pastor, it's definitely up there with the best. It's on Cesar Chavez, just west of the 710 freeway. They're really friendly. When I've gone, it's been pretty quiet ... but then again, I do come out only at odd hours of the night to take a break from studying, too late for respectable citizens, too early for post-clubbing drunk cravings. My only complaint is that you get the onions, cilantro, and salsa for yourself - and I prefer to receive the whole package completed. Then again, this truck is better prepared than other trucks and they have it all sitting on ice, instead of just out at ambient temperature on the side bench. read more

This place is seriously one of the best taco places in all of East Los Angeles! The tacos are a dollar and the put a good amount of meat and they aren't greasy! There tortas are to die for! They bake there bread fresh and also put a very good amount of meat! I would recommend the asada and al pastor; these are my favorites. Btw, they only cost $3.50!! Most places nowadays sell you a torta for $5 and they taste horrible! Anyway, I would seriously recommend this place to anyone :) read more

I had a chicken torta and it was so good! At first I thought it was a risky move adding beans to the torta but when the food hit my mouth it was like a party ignited in my mouth! I have been frequenting tacos Jeesy's for about 3 years now. I started with the quezadillas de asada. So very delicious. Then I moved on to the burritos de asada. they are so big I usually make 2 meals from one. Now Iam into the tacos, which are nice and fat and so scrumptious!!! I am worried because the truck has not been here at Cesar E Chavez and Carmelita all this week. And tonight I saw 2 taco stands down the street. Stopped by here the other night. Very generous on meat in the tacos. Not greasy and not dry. Carnitas were my favorite, El pastor did not have a lot of flavor. I would of liked more varieties of salsas, only 2 to choose from and they were on the hot side. I prefer going a few blocks east to Taco's Jalisco by Angel, he got 4 salsas to choose from. read more
