The Wait and quality of food.. Not worth it…read more Came here around 12pm to get some lunch because I was in the area craving Thai. Their menu looked appetizing and the reviews were decent so I gave it a try. Before I ordered I asked how long the wait would be and she said 15min. So I ran an errand and came back, 15 minutes have past and I'm still waiting. I waited until 25 minutes before I asked about my food. she said it was coming up next, and sorry for the wait. I understood I mean it's lunch time. You can tell they were rushed, there's only two of them and the people waiting in line to order slowly left. She didn't acknowledge people waiting in line, she had he back towards them. 40 minutes have passed now and I'm HANGRY... She kept telling me it was next and that it's backed up. I waited another 10 mins before my food came out... By this time I was over it. I took a bite of the pad see ew and it was so bland... The beef is dry and tasted like they Rushed it.... All that wait for something gross.. Very disappointed !! I mean cmon even when I'm hangry and the food doesn't taste good still.... Sad

Well, that's what just happened to me. I wouldn't mind trying other things on their menu, next time. I'm hopeful. But I have to admit, I didn't love the bbq pork noodle I ordered. It came with a peanut/vinegary/liquidy sauce. The noodles tasted like nothing, and the bbq pork was good. But I guess you're supposed to pour the sauce over the whole dish, else the noodles would just be dry and flavorless. Kind of like you do on Vietnamese vermicelli dishes.I've never had Thai food that way, but I'm open-minded. The prices were a little on the high side for a food truck. I mean, why are food trucks generally expensive for fast food? It kind of contradicts the whole concept behind the "roach coach". Dontcha think? These prices were like sit-down restaurant prices for the pretty good Thai food places around town. So, not sure how the whole business model of having high prices works out for these food truckers. I also ordered the fried tofu with the sweet chili sauce. You can't go wrong on fried tofu, so nothing to write about besides it's good :). Service? They could definitely pick up some storefront personality and speed. But overall, they seemed nice.

Tried out Mastermind during a food truck event at Eat See Hear at LA state historic park near china…read moredown. There was a choice of about 7 food trucks. There was the Philly Steak truck with a very long line, The Chairman with a medium size line, and then the rest had basically no line. I knew that it would be a mistake, but we tried out Mastermind as the Vietnamese / Chinese food sounded good, and we have had good luck in the past with it from food trucks. I figured that it is usually hard to go wrong with a Drunken Noodle dish, so I decided to try that one. What I received was not drunken noodle. It was linguini, tossed with some spices (very dry) and more dry chicken that had tendons and was hard to chew. A piece of cilantro was tossed on top for decoration. I ordered a 3 on the spicy scale of 1-5, and tasted barely any spice. If I ever did get food from Mastermind again (which I won't), I would get a 4 or 5. Lastly, regarding the amount. This poor dish was $10. However the annoying part, that the other food trucks there did not force on me was a charge to use a credit card, that was not noted and the addition of tax, which other food trucks included in their pricing. Overall this dish was a failure, and I would be shocked how much loner Mastermind stays around. Considering I'm just the 3rd review, I think that it's days of business should be coming to an end.

The owner Aldi is such a nice guy, he would joke with you, and super friendly! Go there for lunch and you will never go back to panda

The meat was very tender and flavorful and I'm a big fan of the slaw. The burrito was very thick and hearty and definitely worth it for the price. Kogi was one of my favorite food trucks back then, but without the crazy lines from eons ago. Recently my boyfriend and I were trying to figure out what to eat for dinner and luckily the Kogi truck happened to be nearby. And there was only 2 groups in front of us. This was probably the easiest Kogi visit either. I'm not sure if it was only the day we came and they had technical difficulties or if the Kogi truck changed, but there was a handwritten sign up saying CASH ONLY on the day of our visit. My boyfriend ordered their Short Rib Burrito ($10) and I ordered their Short Rib Taco ($3.25) and their Blackjack Quesadilla ($9). The wait wasn't too bad. The burrito and taco were well packaged but the quesadilla was in a paper container and it was so oily that it seeped through and spilled into the bag. Good thing the plastic bag didn't rip or it would have spilled into the car. The taco was just as I remembered it with a good filling and a generous amount of protein. The blackjack quesadilla was oily and completely covered in salsa making it really soggy. I actually got this item so that it would be good to save for a subsequent meal since I knew I wouldn't finish it. Still a good overall meal but just too oily. I'm glad the Kogi trucks are still in business and going strong after all these years. Looking forward to continue my ongoing support whenever they are nearby.

As mentioned by other Yelper(s), this taco trunk can be found parked in front of the LAC USC Medical Center building. In fact, I remember seeing more than 1 trucks available, but this white Buenos Tacos (easy to remember) truck is the only one that opens late and on the weekend. But please don't quote me on this. They offer tacos, quesadias, burritos, and tortas, but I am only interested in tacos usually. Regular tacos cost $1.25 each, while tacos de lengua cost $1.50 each. I recommend opting for regular ones, as you can get 4 for $5, no change, no mess. I am not even sure why lengua costs more, or if lengua actually tastes better. Shrug. I got cabeza and pastor to go. The cook was very speedy in cooking, and packed everything in foil for me to keep them warm. Limes was cut up and put in a separate bag for convenience. Both tasted very good! Now, if you cannot handle spicy, you may wanna let him know ahead of time, because after eating all 4, my eyes and nose were runny, and my oral cavity in general was burning. It's a delicious kinda burn, but I could do without it. I also enjoyed the toppings such as cilantro, onion, etc. Get everything on it. I didn't regret it at all for doing so! Specifically, cabeza was visibly more fatty but I liked it that way--it was super yummy. Pastor in comparison was drier, but still very well marinated. They tasted good enough, and were cheap enough, for me to come back and try for more. I'll update you guys if I ever buy their other options: azada, chorizo, pollo, and buche. (Btw, all spelling is per menu on the truck. Some look kinda funky, but I don't speak Spanish, so what do I know.)
