Could use some more bacon in the $12 breakfast burrito. The ice mocha was decent at the airport location.
I was here last month for business and I decided to pop on over to this restaurant. I ordered a breakfast plate, 2 eggs, fruit, bacon and toast. I didn't get my toast and they were not busy. I wish restaurants would take the time to make sure everything is right before it goes out. I was really upset about the toast. It was early in the morning and I was hungry. I would recommend this place. I am giving this an updated review. Management reached out to me, which they were super polite and they care about their customers. I wish more restaurants and places are this way. If I ever come back, I would come back and try this place out again.
We already love La Grande Orange, so we had to come here when we needed lunch at Sky Harbor. There was a warmer where you can just grab a pizza in a box and pay, but you can also get pizzas and sandwiches made to order. There is a coffee counter with bakery, too. We decided to eat dessert first and ordered gelato, one vanilla and one chocolate. We split a papering pizza that we grabbed from the warmer. It was not, of course, as good as a freshly made pizza, but it was still pretty dang yummy. We paid around $38 for one 12 inch pizza, two cups of gelato, and a bottle of water.
I was in need of coffee and sustenance early this morning before a flight to Indianapolis. Terminal 4's D gate has limited options but La Grande Orange looked most promising and convenient. I'd visited other locations years ago so I decided to give it a go. I settled on a Potato, bacon, egg and cheese breakfast burrito. There was a selection of them pre-made this morning on a rack so I grabbed one and headed to the counter to pay and grab a coffee. Obviously any time you decide to eat at the airport you're going to overpay but you already know that going in. At $15 this was a pricy burrito and with coffee came out to over $20. Having said that, I have to say it was a really quite tasty burrito along with some salsa. The coffee was just what the doctor ordered so overall I really won't complain since it all fit the bill. At this hour the terminal wasn't terribly busy so it was a pleasant enough time sitting at a table to eat. Service was ok, nothing out of the ordinary but friendly. Not much on ambiance but again it's the airport and it does what you need it to do. 3.5 stars bordering on 4 since I did enjoy the food and coffee.
Off to vaca, needed some food before the flight. Of course over priced airport food. Ordered California burger which came with fries. Order comes with fries which was soggy... . Burger is fresh made to order which was nice. Burger itself was not too bad. Definitely not worth the price for what you get. If the burger and fries were around $8 I would have been happy. I would save my money and pass this place next time. Staffs were very friendly which was good.
I'm glad they have this spot at the airport! I've been to their location in Phoenix before, and their pizza and coffee are always good. This time, I grabbed a sandwich, and it was really good fresh and flavorful. A great option for a quick and tasty bite while traveling.
Wonderful service by Milo at the location at the D date, this is the second time I've been through and she's such a sweetheart. I got a quad espresso over ice with mocha and fat-free milk on the side and it's perfect for those who like coffee forward flavors!
Food was just horrid, they put refried beans in my burger even though that's not what I ordered and the put pineapple in my fries. Don't ever come here it's just a scam airport restaurant plus the brother's beef was here again.
They didn't have a couple of the items that were on the menu. This isn't what I wanted and it was hot in here.
I have heard about La Grande Orange from a lot of friends and finally made it in this past weekend. The store is set up like a grocery store when you walk in, but also has a dine in area, coffee bar, and counter where you can order all of your food at. We had the Kale & Quinoa salad which was very refreshing and had an excellent texture to it. The Kale/Quinoa & Sunflower seeds gave it the perfect crunch. I was excited to try their pizza as I have seen some great reviews and didn't believe for myself that the pizza would live up to the hype. It was amazing, and the crust was delicious too. If there was a little less grease on the pizza I would say 10/10!! I am excited to try some of their other fresh food and the coffee bar as well.
This is at airport location, bought a simple cappuccino to drink before flight. I had 30 min After waiting almost 10 minutes while there where is was no line, then got the drink super hot, boiling hot , after sitting by gate, being 3rd group to board this expensive drink is not drinkable yet !!! Waste of money and time. Don't get your coffee here.
What a disappointing sandwich. I got this turkey and cheese sandwich with avocado. For 19 bucks, I expected better. It has avocado but it was dark. The lettuce was fresh though but it didn't have much mayo. I was bummed with the quality of this sandwich. Wouldn't recommend.
Decent airport food. Pepperoni pizza was very salty (which may be what you like). It was cheesy and huge pieces of pepperoni over a very thin crust covered with cheese. 3.5 stars. Chicken Caesar salad: romaine lettuce was fresh and sweet. Too much Parmesan and chicken pieces (some of you may like this). Dressing was good. I wished they offered it with or without chicken because I ended up throwing most of the chicken away.
I stopped by here yesterday with my wife for our lunch. We were flying out of PHX that day and with a 4 hour flight over lunch, we felt it prudent to get ourselves some food. We ended up drawing a D gate for our departure and so heading to La Grande Orange was more of a convenience than a choice. This restaurant consists of a large space where it has seats, coolers of to go food and then multiple different registers to order from. They offer everything from burgers and sandwiches to salads and gelato and even had pizza on the menu although I didn't see anyone ordering it. My wife and I both looked at the menu as well as the to go food and both ultimately ended up choosing the chopped turkey salad. What was nice was that I could grab a to go version of it without having to wait for them to make it which was nice. They actually had pre made versions of most of their sandwiches and salads which I thought was nice. The salad consisted of turkey, lettuce, tomato, egg, avocado, bacon, Point Reyes Blue Cheese, cheddar and came with both ranch and champagne vinaigrette. It was nice to be able to choose my dressing and I ultimately went with the vinaigrette. As for the salad itself, it was pretty decent and I liked how much cheddar and blue cheese was on it. The turkey, while looking like lunch meat, certainly didn't taste like it and was enjoyable. Then the avocado and egg made it feel somewhat healthy which is always appreciated when eating something from an airport. It was only the lettuce which let down this salad a bit as it was a shredded combination of iceberg and romaine (I think) and felt rather flat. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. I love trying to eat at least somewhat healthy in the airport and Le Grande Orange helped accomplish that goal. read more
While on a layover at the Phoenix Int'l Airport on our way to So Cal, my wife and I were on a search for lunch options. When we arrived at gate C19, we quickly checked the monitors for our departure gate for our connecting flight leaving in a couple of hours. The monitors indicate gate B6 so off to B6 we went where we came upon Le Grande Orange. After reading favorable Yelp reviews and seeing they have a wood-fired oven for making pizzas, we opted to order a pizza to share. We ordered their Gladiator pizza ($16.50) which came with huge slices of pepperoni and sausage. All pizzas were personal-size but we weren't all that hungry so we shared one. The pizza was good, with a nice chewy crust with just the right char. All in all, a very good pizza at the airport, albeit a bit pricy. Was going to give it 3 stars, but after considering its airport location, decided to give them 4 stars instead. Quick lunch for 2 came out to just under $21. Oh yeah, good thing we re-checked the monitors again as our departure gate was changed, moving us back to gate C19. read more

Ok so In this review, keep in mind I will compare apples to apples. This is a quick counter food place in the airport...not a fancy sit down restaurant and so I will compare to other airport food places. It has a long counter you can work on your laptop or people watch. I grabbed a foil wrapped premade breakfast burrito, orange juice and coffee cake. The burrito was pleasantly delicious. Hot great egg potatoes bacon ratio and salsa had good flavor. I'm picky about my OJ and let me tell you this OJ was soooo good. Also had a little sweet tooth so ordered the coffee cake which is one of my favorites. It was a little dry but flavorful. Overall I like this place better than any others in this area and I have tried others. This is located in terminal 4 Gate D. read more

Leaving Indy is always bittersweet. I had a great time with my co-workers, but it was time to return to reality. Thankfully, it helped to have a positive experience during my layover in PHX. My flight from IND to PHX was delayed so I thought it was going to miss the connecting flight. Good thing that was delayed too. This gave me time to grab a quick bite to eat. It was late at night, but La Grande Orange was still open. Hallelujah! Probably wouldn't have eaten dinner otherwise. And the cashiers were so nice, which means a lot to a disgruntled traveler waiting for a delayed flight. I got the chopped turkey salad, which was a good size and super cheesy. Yum! I took this to eat at a gate adjacent to mine since the shop was obviously closing down. I couldn't finish the whole salad but ate as much as my tired self could stomach. It was satisfying and saved me from hunger going home. If I had a layover in PHX again, I would totally come here, and it looks like many fellow Yelpers feel the same way! read more

Being gluten free and having options for food can be limited while traveling. This place was a pleasant surprise. I was sitting next to a lady that was eating a delicious looking pepperoni pizza from this place and couldn't help walk down to try this place. There is NO up charge for gluten free crust, which is not common but much appreciated. I ordered the Margarita on gluten free crust, it was a 15 minute wait while they baked it in their wood fired oven. The pizza was about $15 which is decent for gluten free pizza. I was quite thrilled by the price and flavor. read more
Usually, Southwest Airlines' gates have boring food, especially if you have an early morning flight. I was delighted to see that good ol' La Grande Orange has a huge restaurant/shop here. It's not a sit down restaurant so you can just purchase your stuff, wait to be called, and then find a random table. It was early, so I only ordered a pastry and chocolate gelato. The morning bun $3.30 was warmed upon my request and it was sugary and good. The flavor of the chocolate gelato $3.50 was good, but there were too many ice chucks. They seem to have a good variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. read more

My favorite spot for a gourmet burger. My boyfriend and i chow down every time. I love the different parts of LGO, the cake shop, the bar, the pizzeria, the coffee shop, gelato shop and gift shop!!! been coming here for years. read more

was stuck in the airport waiting for three hours and this place mostly caught my attention because it looked great to me. Unfortunately though, the pizza turned out to be very bland, basil didn't go well with it, and i only enjoyed the crust. read more

Overpriced for what you get, lack of dressing for caesar salad, dressing is also extremely watered down. However on the "bright" side there was no line, sandwich is mediocre. read more

I visited them inside the airport in Phoenix. The food and drinks looked so good but it was a bit pricey. I got a latte and it tasty and prepared quickly. Staff was very accomodating & friendly. read more

Not bad for airport food but it comes with an airport price tag. The pizza I wanted, Gladiator, wasn't in the warmer so they made one fresh, to order. It took about 10 minutes +/- The pizza was pretty greasy (so if you get one, take lots of napkins). The pizza sauce actually had some chunks of tomatoes which was nice. The sausage & pepperoni were good, although there wasn't much for the price, over $16 for a small 10 inch pizza. The crust was also good, but a tad chewy. It was filling (although I wasn't very hungry) and I might order one again. It was just good, not great. But the people working there were very friendly! read more
La Grande Orange has a little bit of everything, giving you quality, freshly prepared dishes quickly and at reasonable prices. It's compact but there are lots of different food stations. You can order breakfast sandwiches at one cashier, pizza at another, salads, sandwiches, cookies, juices and more. They have a modern menu with healthy choice options like Kale and Quinoa salads, Veggie Burgers, Chickpea Lettuce Wraps, along with all your more "normal" food items. Commuter Sandwich (Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, Tomato, Mayo, add Avocado on an English Muffin) - I was really impressed with the freshness of my breakfast sandwich. For the main item, I could have had bacon, ham, turkey, smoked salmon or avocado. I went with bacon and they only charged me an extra dollar to add avocado. I would totally order this again. They have so much stuff to choose from here that everyone in your party should be able to find something to eat for breakfast or lunch. If you are in a hurry, you can pick up food to go quickly here, or you can sit down and eat after you order and pay as it's a fast casual spot. One of the guys working at the airport Starbucks suggested this place to me and I'm glad they did! read more

I was in Phoenix for the day on business and landed around breakfast time, feeling a bit famished (the peanuts on my two-hour Sourhwest flight from Oakland were a bit inadequate). A quick glance at my Yelp app while standing in front of the first restaurant I came across - La Grande Orange - happily revealed that the very same establishment came highly recommended! "What luck," I thought to myself. I ordered a Zuni Burrito off the breakfast options helpfully put up on a board behind the counter, and waited about 10 minutes for my food, eagerly anticipating the tofu "chorizo" and charred tomato salsa (among other things like mushrooms, corn, potatoes, egg whites and spinach) my Zuni was meant to be filled with. I opened up my burrito and the wrapper came apart. I have never had a burrito be served to me so badly wrapped. Never. Re-wrapping it up myself, I took my first bite, getting huge chunks of potato and bland tofu, but little else. This continued as I worked my way through this sorry excuse for a breakfast burrito, vainly searching for all the ingredients which were promised, letting out small grunts of satisfaction when I found a kernel of corn or a bit of spinach or mushroom. But it was mostly a mass of potato and tofu. Filling, yes. Tasty, no. So if you decide to breakfast here, do yourself a favor and order something else. Not the Zuni Burrito. read more
I happened to go here on the first day it opened, 10/6. For an airport place, for a first day, and for a duplicate of a place with quite a reputation, for once I was not disappointed! I was a little frantic and running late for my flight, so I could not get a cooked meal. Rest assured, the friendly staff pointed me to the very well stocked cold case and I was able to get a tasty side of mixed fruit with creme fraiche for $3. There were fresh strawberries, grapes and something else, I forgot already, oops. There were definitely other choices in that cold case that I will be back for next time. The line was quick, smiles all around, and for once I got to eat something I didn't regret before flying! I have a feeling next visit will give me enough of an experience to merit the 5th star. Travel can be rough but Jelani will put a smile on your face and make great recommendations of what to try. I most definitely will stop by again on my travels. LGO gets my vote! Go see Jelani. I had been dreading coming to the airport and finding out that LGO had a location made me feel better. While our flight wasn't in section D, we had enough time to kill so we scrambled on down. I ordered the commuter sandwich and the Havana latte. My latte was divine - sweet and tasty. The sandwich was so large we could have shared. Their homemade English muffins are to die for and I could have just eaten that. My husband ordered a Caesar salad. The salad was meh. There were tons of to-go salads in the display case and my husband figured that's what they were - to-go salads. Since we were sitting down and eating he thought they would make the salad fresh and bring it out on a plate. Nope. The employee grabbed a box and handed it to my husband. There wasn't a lot of salad in the large box and the crotons were soggy from being inside the box. Overall, the freshly made items were delicious and the bakery case was full of tempting treats. If I come back through the airport, I'll definitely be grabbing a latte and sweet treat. read more

Really very good for airport food. The choices were unique and a bit new age. I had a breakfast burrito with tofu in it. It was really very good. The cashier who helped me was fun and seriously perky. I was scanning the wall menu and then looked around for a cashier in a dazed 'lost airport soul' manner. He grabbed my attention with eye contact and handed me a menu then led me to the right counter. Great customer service! It was also a nice place to sit and wait for my flight. read more
Snagging a meal before a flight can often be a pain, because the food is often overpriced, low-quality or both. Luckily, La Grande Orange offers a variety of pizzas, salads, and sandwiches at (relatively) reasonable prices. I grabbed a kale salad between flights, and it was pretty good! The pizza also looked quite tasty, but takes more time because you have to wait for it to bake. There is a fair amount of seating, which makes this place a particularly convenient stop if you have a Phoenix layover. read more

My FAVORITE place to eat. Need to post pictures later but it's sooo delish, I forget to take a picture. This is my treat every trip, I'm a flight attendant. I love THE COMMUTER sandwich anytime of day. The bacon is so crispy and they are NOT stingy!!!! I also love the CHEESEBURGER- I choose to get it on an English muffin. Mmmmmm. The salads are also exceptional. The TURKEY salad, is amazing! The Kale (add chicken) salad is a flight attendant favorite. It's good but I love the other stuff too much. IT IS PRICEY, but worth every penny ;) They also have a stamp card, for $10 off after every 10 purchases. Basically a FREE meal if you frequent often read more

I just want to save you the trouble of ordering the Avocado BLT unless you just really want a lettuce sandwich. For the price you really should have some avocado slices not some guacamole smear and not even very much. Check out the picture. If your vegetarian steer clear. read more
