Great experience at La Grande Orange! We visited on a week day so it wasn't very busy. I'm sure it gets quite busy on the weekends, especially with the small parking lot. I ordered the vegan Dalai Lama pizza which was delicious. Yummy sourdough crust, but they also have gluten free! We also shared the bacon wrapped dates, which were perfectly balanced. The coffee shop, bakery, and store is fun to walk around. I ordered an iced latte and chocolate cupcake. Sorry for the word but... the cupcake was so moist and the buttercream extra creamy and not too sweet. Fantastic place for any meal! read more

I feel like everyone should go to La Grande Orange at least once. I love, love, love this place. We usually go during the day when you order at the counter in the store, but I learned today that it turns into table service in the evening. This was the first time we've gone in the evening. We grabbed a soda and sake from the fridge in the store and then went into the dining room, where the hostess seated is right away. Our server was there in literally a minute. We were pretty much ready to order, so we put in our order. I was really appreciative that when we misread the menu and almost ordered a $40 pizza, he warned us that it was pricey. We ended up ordering two Gladiator pizzas to share, which was more than enough. They were, as always, amazing! You can immediately tell they use very high quality ingredients. Oh, that sausage is soooo good! And the cheese, too! And the sauce--i could drink it up!!! The pizzas are not huge, and are very thin, but somehow they filled us up with leftovers to take home. The place itself is super cool. There is a store with gourmet foods and lots of fun gifts and lots of wine. There's a bakery case and a gelato area as well as a coffee bar. There's some tables dotted along the window and a couple tables outside. The dining room is through a door where you can see them making the pizzas. I love when you can see them making your food. Place is bright and cheery and has some interesting art on the walls. There's a small bar through another door. This place kind of just makes me happy. I love looking at all the cool gifts in the shop and the pizza is phenomenal. I will continue to love this place. read more

This used to be one of my favorite places in Phoenix to meet a girlfriend for lunch, so this visit was incredibly disappointing. I ordered the rotisserie turkey salad, expecting it to be freshly made. Instead, it was a pre-made salad sitting in a cooler. The avocado was brown, the cheddar cheese was mushy, and there was barely any turkey--about the amount you'd get from a single slice of sandwich meat. It tasted anything but fresh. My husband ordered a breakfast sandwich. It wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't worth the price. Between the pre-made salad, a basic breakfast sandwich, two drinks, and two cookies, our bill was over $60. The only redeeming part of the meal was the gluten-free cookie--it was still as delicious as I remembered. Unfortunately, the experience didn't stop with the food. The cashier had an attitude, the music was so loud it made conversation difficult, and the overall experience felt nothing like the LGO I used to love. I understand that prices have increased everywhere, but when prices go up, quality and service should at least stay the same. Instead, both have gone downhill. I really hope La Grande Orange can get back to the fresh, high-quality food and welcoming atmosphere that made it such a Phoenix favorite. read more

This was a strange experience for my sister and I... so let's dive in! So I was gifted a gift card to this spot and we decided to go on a Thursday at 3pm. The parking is tight so definitely want to go there early if you want a good spot. Walking in, there's a restaurant/cafeteria type spot and it did look clean. I assumed this was where the pizza is served but it didn't look like you could just order anywhere there. Connected to that spot was a little store that had socks, bracelets, candles, etc... and an area to order baked goods and breakfast/lunch items. We got to the front and wanted to order pizza and calamari and was told that would be available at 4pm at the area that looked like a restaurant so then we just ordered French pancakes while we waited to order the pizza. The French pancakes were delicious but for $19 a little pricey. When it hit 4pm, we went back to the restaurant space and seated ourselves as no one seemed to be hosting even though we were told that there would be a host. As we were seated, there was a lady that seated two other people and gave them menus. I tried to get her attention and she kept ignoring us. So I got up and got us a menu. As we waited, literally 2 seats down from the other 2 people, they were asked if they wanted water and then their order and again we were not greeted at all. The lady just didn't want to help us so when I saw someone else, I grabbed their attention and was told that she would get someone to help us. This other person got our order and gave us waters finally. When our pizza and calamari came out, the lady that did not want to give us the time of day, passed by and I got her attention by saying "excuse me miss" 3 times and she turned around with a scowl on her face and then smiled so fake and asked what I wanted. I asked if they had garlic aoli and she said "no, I wish" and then left. There was another lady walking by that heard us and went to the kitchen and came back with garlic aioli. There is nothing special about this place at all. Even the pizza we got which was a margarita pizza had the basil dumped on top and not even cooked with the pizza. For $20 pizza, this isn't worth it. Glad we had a gift card for this cause I won't go back and I for sure will tell my friends it's not worth a stop. read more

This is by far one of the best places to eat at in the valley. I really love their pizza! I usually get the gladiator pizza. The bakery items are so good too. They have an amazing variety of cookies and the red velvet cake is the bomb. It's so good. I do wish it was more affordable. It's pretty expensive but I really do feel like you pay for the quality of the food. read more

I am a frequent, loyal customer and have been for about two years now. The woman working the register at the coffee bar the morning of 09/15 was extremely rude. I've always loved how sweet and up beat the employees here are (never had any issues besides this one) so I'm pretty unhappy. She had a bandana on and blue long sleeve. After visiting the airport location for many years and enjoying it, I felt the physical location did not live up to the hype. My main area of disappointment was the pizza quality. The fallen angel pizza was insanely floppy and tough to eat with your hands and was delivered to us not exactly in a hot and fresh fashion. Service was acceptable and rather slow at times albeit friendly. The ambiance was on point and had a quaint bodega style store at the other end of the property with the with authentic options. Overall I would be willing to give this place another chance if I could be assured the pizza quality was greatly improved on my next visit. read more

First time here and came with coworkers for a working lunch. What a fun establishment...both gift store, winery, pizzeria, and restaurant. They have several ordering stations so even at 12:30pm, there really wasn't a line to order given how busy it was. Also parking in front is available but small and you can go around the building and park over by Postino's or their back lot. We were able to secure a table in the larger dining area, in the corner. Love all of the concert posters hanging around! Also there was music playing, which was a bit loud but we managed. I ordered the tuna melt, which was fabulous! I'm a sucker for Nobel Bread products and they use it for this sandwich. Loved their version of tuna which included golden raisins for a light, sweet bit. They press it on a panini press, and I loved the golden and few bits of char on the bread. I also grabbed a bag of plain chips because there isn't anything better than chips on a tuna sandwich! The plate also comes with some bread & butter pickles...not my cup of tea although I did take a small bite and I believe they are house-made. Also ordered a large LGOG iced tea, which they have containers in the dining area for refills. Loved the taste of this unsweetened tea! Almost along the lines of a passion fruit flavor. Overall a great experience and can't wait to come back and explore the shop more and try some other items. A couple of my co-workers had the turkey sandwich and it looked fabulous! read more

Oh, and on Saturdays they have free wine tasting?! absolutely yes! As I was buying my wine the employee told me to go out to the tasting, try some others and get a 15% off coupon, then come back in and buy my wine, I thought that was so nice! 10/10 and they also have pizza and a full bar, which I unfortunately didn't get to try. This place was amazing! My friend took me here and I've never heard about it before and it was truly something special in the heart of Phoenix. All of their pizza is made from sourdough, which is super unique and delicious. I got this veggie pizza and was able to swap out one of the veggies for avocado. I also got a delicious chocolate chip cookie that they warmed up for me. On the side of the grocery store, they have gelato and so many delicious options from the bakery, as well as a coffee shop, gifts, and things you can get to go. This place is cute! They service great pizza and salads! We got the rocket man as it had spicy Fresno chilies, but sadly it wasn't but still was a good with all of the veggies. The best part about the pizza was the vegan cheese! I am dairy free and finding good cheese for pizza is hard but theirs is great! The Caesar salsa was very refreshing and the dressing was more or a vinaigrette which was great! The best part of my meal were the wings. They were spicy and the bbq/hot sauce was so good! I ordered a hamburger with cheddar cheese cooked to medium. What was brought out was well done burger. Almost inedible. Besides that the cheddar cheese must have been dumped out of a bag shredded cheese and piled on ice cold. The fries were limp and covered with a sugar based seasoning. The food and drinks are great and definitely recommend but I have a serious problem with the management. One of the managers, Alexis is the most rude and negative person I have ever seen manage a restaurant like this. The environment is supposed to be welcoming and friendly but she brings in the complete opposite. I see her talking down on the employees every time I'm there and I have never seen such sadness in the girls eyes after speaking with her. She bosses around the other managers and acts like she's above all. Coming from someone who works in customer service I am shocked that she still has a job there. The food here is pretty good overall, a little over-prices, but the customer service and staff attitude are seriously lacking. This morning, I placed a pickup order over the phone and drove to the restaurant to get it. They have a designated pickup area, but all the spots were full, so I parked further away--no big deal. When I tried calling to let them know I was there, no one answered, so I went inside. As soon as I got to the register, I was met with blank stares from the staff. No greeting, no acknowledgment--so awkward. I told them I was there to pick up my order, and they handed me the food without saying a single word. That was the entire interaction. I felt like I was being judged by high school girls who think they're better than you. I don't understand why the staff can't even do the bare minimum, like greeting customers or being polite. It makes the whole experience feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. The owners really need to step up and train their staff because this has been a recurring issue. This place has so much potential, but the lack of effort from the employees ruins it. Customer service is such an important part of any business, and if a restaurant can't deliver even basic respect or friendliness, it doesn't deserve a good rating. Parking is very limited so you have to like circle until someone pulls out or park farther away and walk. Latte a little better. Not good. I took my 2 kids to eat here and spent 71 dollars for the 3 of us. The burgers were super salty, the salad was soggy and they would not let us sit down in the resturant side. We sat in a corner where the door kept opening which was super hot. For 70 bucks for 3 people and kinds meals I would think they would provide a good product. It fealt like the wait staff did not want us there. I would avoid this place. read more
