I have been to Born & Bred in Scottsdale a handful of times now, and every single time I've had nothing but incredibly friendly service and an amazing meal. We've had the cheeseburger, pizza, chicken Parmesan sandwich, fries and tots for food. For drinks we had the Newcomer & Lady Luck. 10/10 on everything, this is genuinely the best cheeseburger in town whether it's plain or as it comes on menu. Gigi has helped us every time we've gone for lunch, and she does an amazing job of making everyone feel like a VIP guest. We will be back, many times, and I'll take more pictures. read more

Unfortunately, the actual experience seems to have been misplaced somewhere between the marketing department and the kitchen. The food simply isn't very good. Add flies and a moth enthusiastically buzzing around the dining area during brunch and the overall experience becomes rather difficult to defend. Service started strongly enough, but then disappeared despite the restaurant hardly being busy. We eventually had to ask the hostess to pick up the slack, which is never an especially encouraging sign. To be fair, the service is probably the strongest part of the operation, although that bar is not exactly set at Olympic height. The atmosphere was completely blah. It has the curious energy of a place that either used to be very good or is desperately trying to convince you that it is. There's a sense that whoever owns or manages it lost the spark some time ago and is now relying on the branding to do the heavy lifting. And that's really the issue: great website, overpromised experience, underwhelming delivery. Hospitality is about execution, not just having attractive photographs and clever copy. Nothing was catastrophic, which somehow makes it worse. It's simply mediocre, tired and drifting. Scottsdale has far too many good options to spend money somewhere that feels like it's already in a slow decline. Won't be coming back. Another person got the Aftermath burger, it looked great, he said it was decent but didn't like the bun, said it was "a lot of bread". She later came back to verify our order, and she had remembered it wrong. We were skeptical that our food would come out correctly, but fortunately it did! We got the Aftermath burger on happy hour, which came with one burger patty instead of two. We had tried the jalapeño burger at Aftermath not long before and loved it, so we had high expectations for this one. The burger patty was consistent and had the same crispy edge that we enjoyed. We added the beef tallow fries as a side to the burger, and they were pretty good. We also tried the Margherita pizza. The crust held up well. There was not enough mozzarella though. Came back here with my lovely girlfriend again last month, joined this time by my mom and her boyfriend Eric. We had a great time overall, it was quieter night for the restaurant and the music was chill. Our server was accommodating and we never waited too long for anything. I just drank some water but my girlfriend tried one of their specialty cocktails called Lady Luck. My mom had their German beer which was called Hefeweizen/ Halfway to Hefen. I had kept seeing the Aftermath burger all across my instagram timeline and I was glad to finally try it, it was delicious and did live up to my hype for it, though it was pretty pricy. I would get it again though if I came back here. My girlfriend got the Ragazzo pizza, which came with barbecue sauce, red onion, grilled chicken and cilantro, that she quite enjoyed as well. I had advocated for our table to order the crème brûlée cheesecake this time around (I'd had it my prior time here, and couldn't stop thinking about it since) though we ultimately decided to go to Handel's next door instead. The wrap definitely has potential, as the restaurant was encompassed with wonderful, fresh bread smells. The accompaniment of pasta salad was an interesting choice and not something I got to pick. For a place that is open for brunch, coffee is a must. Both the bowl and the sandwich were delicious and the eggs were cooked perfectly on the sandwich and bowl. The short ribs in the bowl were perfectly seasoned and added a nice touch to the meal. The sandwich was served on a huge plate with a side of fruit and because of the plate size, made the entree seem small (which it was not). Looked odd to get such a big plate for a breakfast sandwich. Stopped in while visiting town. Came mid afternoon on a Sunday so we were provided with the brunch menu. I went into it thinking I wanted the Caesar wrap. However after learning it may be a bit anchovy heavy I decided against it. The antipasto salad was a great substitute for getting my greens. The pizza was also fairly tasty. It was fairly dark inside for an afternoon. I wish they had offered at least a pasta on their brunch menu. I really wanted to check that out. The service was fairly helpful. It was my girlfriends birthday and she loves burgers so we decided to go. The fries were fantastic!! Super crispy and easily the best part of the meal. I did order the AM burger which is a double but it was brought out as a single, very thin patty. When I mentioned it, I was offered another patty, but the interaction felt a little off, so I just kept it as is. The burger itself didn't match the expectations I had from what I've seen online. We decided to order the truffle fries to share and they were delicious!!! Highly recommend, and they come with three dipping sauces. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, and it was ok. I don't think I'd order it again. Just kind of plain and basic. I also had tea with honey and lemon and that was nice, as I was getting over a small cold. So the kitchen took over two and a half half hours for mine and my coworkers food. The restaurant was not packed and the kitchen was not overwhelmed. It was a logistical nightmare and it was embarrassing to see the kitchen staff eye gawking the plates trying to figure out what is going on with 9 steaks that were ordered. They looked lost trying to figure out whose plates were whose. Yes, they comped mine and my coworkers meal after I said that I didn't want to eat it and wanted to leave and have it to go. Love the vibes of this restaurant. Every chair is comfortable, including on the covered & shaded patio. The service is amazing and the food is even better. For food, we had the Newcomer cocktail, Pesto Pizza lunch special with Cesar salad, Chicken Parmesan sandwich, Chicken Cesar wrap, Buffalo Chicken wrap, & the cheeseburger (modified to be plain for onion allergies). Everything was delicious, but the cheeseburger really stands out, even when it's served completely plain you can taste the quality. I need to specifically point out that the entire staff took my onion allergy very seriously and the chef even came out to discuss the ingredients in their homemade ketchup to determine if it was safe for my allergy. Being able to genuinely trust a restaurant with a food allergy is rare, but I'm so glad it's a place where the food is so delicious. Happy hour late lunch early dinner. Waitress was great, pleasant attentive and quick response ( as described later). Ambience was clean and typical bar dark. The staff is super friendly and they gave us excellent recommendations regarding their specialty cocktails which were great. We ordered the shrimp cocktail for appetizer, but the absolute best thing on this menu is the aftermath burger with side Caesar salad. We can honestly say that this is the best burger you could ever order in a Phoenix restaurant and the side Caesar salad is so great as well. The burger is absolutely delicious and so different from most traditional burgers, that you will leave this place rethinking what a burger should actually taste like ... it's THAT good. They also have a location in Downtown Chandler but haven't been to that location yet. It was my first time at this Scottsdale location. The place isn't too big but it's decent. We sat at the bar. Ordered a round of drinks, chatted for a bit then ordered food and more drinks. Our order: Bloody Mary Vodka soda lime x2 Permanent Vacation cocktail x2 1/2 dozen oysters Margherita Pizza Oysters were a bit small and the sauce was more on the salty side. Not bad but just okay for me. The pizza was delicious!! Saucy and cheesy. I really liked my Permanent Vacation cocktail. That was pretty good and I would order that again. I decided to stick with the same drink the second time instead of mixing. He started with a bloody mary, which was good, then switched to vodka sodas afterwards.
