Bondstock double oak bourbon; super smooth
    Ohmar G.

I found a staff member standing behind the tasting counter by the name of Joe and he noticed I was peering at a bourbon. He eventually offered to give me a sample of a Spirits Direct aged bourbon which was fantastic. I didn't plan on it but I took the bottle home with me.

Total Wine is my favorite place to replenish my liquor cabinet. It is a very rare sale when Fry's or Safeway has a lower price. However, last I checked, Total Wine will match any local competitors ad price. It has the greatest selection of shelters, beers, and liquors in the entire Valley. When I stopped in the other day, reps were doing a free sampling of a bourbon distilled in Austin, Texas. I have found employees to be very educated on their products.

I'm just happy they had soju. That's all I need lol. Wish they had the yogurt flavored one though. :/

A beautiful store with beautiful displays. Very helpful staff as excited about ringing you up as you are about drinking your purchase. Clean, well stocked and a great atmosphere. The nicest Total Wine in the valley. Great selection and perfectly presented.

This has been my main location to pick up drinks after a long day at work prior to heading home (seeing as I work so close by). Unfortunately today will be my last day stopping at this store due to how I was treated. Staff members Annie and Max behaved in a completely unprofessional way and it may be helpful if Max received some coaching on how to properly handle customer service issues. Using words to escalate a situation, act extremely aggressive towards a customer and attempt to rudely talk over someone when we were asking questions in confusion after Annie, the cashier, just left the line, is extremely unprofessional. I get someone may be unhappy they have to work on Easter.. but bringing that attitude to work is never acceptable. This interaction completely ruined my day and the impression which the store and its employees created of the surrounding Phoenix area (and people who are here) for her - as she is visiting from out of state was beyond frustrating. I'm so ashamed at how that was handled and expect TotalWine to make corrections in how their staff is trained and who is employed at the location as I talked this store up so highly before we stopped in. I deal with sales and sales training on a daily basis and if a worker EVER treated a client in such a manor in any of the companies I consult with, said employee would no longer to have a job as that would be looked at as a cancerous individual who will potentially smear the reputation of the company.

We are fortunate to live very close to Total Wine. It's our go-to ethanol establishment. Generous selection of craft beers, and very knowledgeable staff about all kinds of spirits and liquors. They can help you find just about any drink you want, and if it's not in the store they can order it. Bonus- they're usually always doing a tasting on something. Accessories (cups, glasses, mixers) are marked way up, but at least it's one stop shopping if you're in a bind. Cheers!

Ask the Community - Total Wine & More

Is there tobacco for corn pipe?

Hi James. At this time we only sell premium hand-rolled cigars. No loose tobacco for pipes.

Is there a growler fill station, and if yes, what brand/type is currently in tap?

There used to be a growler station, now there's not

Do they sell Japanese Sake? If so, what types and price ranges? I am looking for a Sake similar to what is sold in restaurants that is warm, mild and relaxing.

Yes they do! I would definitely go in and see what's the best one that matches your type and flavor

When/Days/Hours?, Cost? Of The WINE TASTING...thanks.

I must start by saying that my sweet bf, Nico, got us both free tickets to this event. We would normally not spend $75.00 per person for an event in a parking lot. On a weeknight. It was a nice enough setup. Parking was a bit of a pain, and we walked up to the exit and had to walk all the way around the whole dang event to get to the entrance. Once inside the event (I should still say outside, because the whole thing is set up in a parking lot), we were given a plastic plate and wine glass. So the idea is to walk around to each booth and try the food offering with the wine or beer offering. Most of what we tried was very good. Capital Grill, as well as Ruth Chris offered up some tasty beef. The shrimp and octopus concoction from Lon's was awful, however. Way too chewy and you could smell them from a mile away. Nothing we tried was so excellent that I'm dying to go back to a particular restaurant right away. There were small, high tables that you could stand at or sit on the very limited grass. I was a little disappointed that no other seating was available. Nick and I still had a wonderful time. Then again, we have a great time wherever we go. We'll go again next year...if we get those free tickets again.

Held each spring when the weather is at its…read moreArizona awesomenest, it was a intimate festival with chefs showcasing their best and mingling with the crowd and distributors tastings of some their best and popular wines. Two years ago, they added beer but the event still stuck to its name of great food and wine. This year, it hit a low. It's getting bigger, growing out of its space in the Esplanade cul de sac, the food was lackluster, and the wines bargain bin. It's like everyone just gave up and I'm not sure why. Could blame it on the economy, but you'd think chefs would want to show off for people paying to sample and discover new places. I know distributors are all about pushing the $10 wines, but at events like these we want to know what we can splurge on every now and then. Thankfully, the beer is still there and it's outshining the wine. I sampled a Belguim Tripel, the always great Four Peaks, Lost City brews and even and Agave beer. Yum! So is the emphasis on desserts - restaurants that handed out the sweets really went all out like The Districts decadant Whoopie Pies or the Banana Split on a Stick. It's sad to see things change. Go back to your roots Forks & Corks, or be prepared to rename your event Sweets & Suds.

I was excited to find Prickly Pear Lemonade by AZ Lemonade, which was exactly the kind of local gem I was hoping to discover. This is definitely a really nice grocery store and gives off a bit of a Pavilions/Whole Foods vibe, but in a more quaint, slightly more mom-and-pop kind of way. The produce looked super fresh, and they had a really good assortment of Arizona products like BBQ sauce, honey, and other local items. Many, many moons ago, while working a high stress, low paying government position in the area,; I used to come here for lunch every nearly every day with coworkers and my supervisor. It was a little pricey, but you couldn't beat those big slices of warm pizza and the salad bar to go, not to mention the dessert. Not only was a a customer during their lunch hour, but I was also a customer that shopped for groceries there. The bakery was my favorite with the iced sugar cookies winning hands-down. The last time I was here was with my son in 2014 to get those sugar cookies mentioned above. So imagine my surprise when I am aggressively approached by two men, who I've never seen before in my life, but clearly work there, telling me that I've been trespassed from that store before and that I need to leave. I am utterly flabbergasted, floored, speechless. At this point, I had a basket full of groceries and I was waiting to be served at the bakery. Just like every other law abiding citizen, I ask what is going on and what are they talking about. Now, I am a relatively young female, unaccompanied in the store with a pretty severe case of CPTSD. Now, of course I do not expect these men to know this but grabbing my purse and other bagged items that I previously purchased, shoving them aggressively into the sides of my arms and shoulders all while saying things like " you know who you are" that I "have been trespassed here before" (untrue) they "have a right to refuse service and don't have to tell me anything" and I "know what I have done" and they "know what I am up to." while literally surrounding me and physically grabbing my car and shoving my things at me. Needless to say, I was severely triggered. In fact, they didn't even give me all of my stuff from my basket actually, maybe they did; I'm so traumatized by the whole thing that I don't even know. What I do know is that I've never stolen anything from AJ's in my entire life. I'm not a thief. In fact I won't even steal refills from Circle K because I feel like they will know. I have no idea who they have mistaken me for, perhaps no one . It would not surprise me if they just made some kind of judgment based off of my appearance. Never have I ever been in a situation like this before but I wanted to let everyone know how they treat people with zero explanation.
