The food is adequate (actually better than Pollo tropical) and the seafood soup at this location doesn't have the shrimp with the eyes and legs attached, like at the North Miami Beach locations usually does. But it is best to always check your meal before walking away because they are likely to make an error and give you something you didn't order. Also, if you go in during the last hour before closing your seafood soup will be only broth... which is ridiculous for the amount of money they charge you. read more

When you need Peruvian food fast and in a pinch to serve a large family, La Granja has you covered. Called them with a large order of a half chicken with sides, a mixed chicken and beef chaufa, and a steak with green tallarines, and it was ready in 15 minutes. The location is huge. Once you are past the ordering area, there's a bunch of tables right past the sauce and toppings station. Even then, it was pretty packed for when I went on a Sunday. The half chicken was very juicy and tender. It was also very flavorful. I was impressed as usually most rotisserie style chicken can come out dry. The beans were very good as a side. The tallarines verdes with steak were good. I've had this dish in several Peruvian places nearby and while not the best one, it holds up nicely. The serving size was very generous as I had leftover pasta for the day after (but no meat... oh well...). Solid 4/5 stars for a quick and flavorful fix. I always enjoy my meals from La Granja. My favorite is the whole snapper but I often get the quarter chicken meal which never disappoints

This location is always my go-to! The food is consistently delicious, the service is quick, and the staff is welcoming. I recommend it every chance I get--great vibes and quality all around. I once visited the Copans location, but the experience there wasn't the same. There was an intoxicated person bothering the staff, which made things uncomfortable. Upon entering this location I walked past several tables that were dirty/still had food and trays on them. Exiting the same way about 20 minutes later those same tables had not been cleaned. The food was mediocre and they definitely skimped in the chicken. It looked like they butchered my piece of chicken so it looked full on top and then picked at the bottom. And the chicken was burnt in some spots and overall dry from overcooking. The rice and beans were fine. The garlic potatoes were about the closest thing to decent here. It lacked flavor sadly. All they did was pile a bunch of minced garlic on it and cooked it in oil or butter. No seasoning at all. I was excited for the yummy looking chocolate cake. However it was awful. The cake itself was extremely dry and definitely over cooked. The dulce de leche filling in between was nice, but not enough to cover the complete lack of moisture in the cake itself. I asked for a refund or exchange for another dessert. They swapped it for the cheesecake. The cheesecake was fabulous!!!! I got one good thing from this restaurant. The service was okay. Atmosphere not the best. Cleanliness non existent. Oh!!! I had some creepy older guy that would not stop peeking around his seat to watch me eat. Not the restaurants fault but so freaking weird. Who are all these people trashing this place? This is fresh, grilled food, prepared fresh to order. The jalea is great, the seafood sampler is great, the ceviche is great, grilled and rotisserie chicken is excellent, etc. Actually, there are only 1-2 things on the whole 100 item menu that I don't mess with. Amazing!! I got the whole fried snapper, it was so flavorful. I recommend that or the fried rice, I get extra eggs and chicken added, top that with there onion and jalapeño salad from the sauce bar and it's chefs kiss!! Nice great big location with lots of food selections to choose from but definitely a language barrier with employees. Place is very clean and employees were constantly wiping tables and chair down and doing their best to keep the place clean. I have to say that i may be an unfair critic considering I've been to most of the Granja locations around. This particular location seems to be nothing special; food slapped together without care, and without really comparing to some other locations (atlantic and 441 happens to be the best). We ordered the lomo saltado, garlic potatoes, and grilled bone-in chicken. The lomo saltado wasnt super flavorful and lacked sauce. The rice was ok, amd the garlic potatoes were just oil and garlic pan fried for a second with boiled potatoes. Really no care at all was taken in preparation of our food. The dessert my gf got was literally pure sugar, i couldn't manage 1 bite. I'll stick to the other locations, until i hear this one has improved. read more

Having been to many of their locations over the years -- and eating at this location today -- my opinion hasn't changed: the food is awesome. Yes, it's a dive; yes, speaking Spanish is a big plus; and yes, it's home style cooking. But wow, when you want Peruvian-type quick food, this is THE joint. The mixed ceviche was well made and flavorful, although I would have liked more shellfish in it. The pounded chicken was tender and juicy, despite being so thin, and the sides were all well made. Other favorites include the popcorn chicken (a Kid favorite), the papas or yuca huicanina (check the spelling, but it's a super tasty sauce), whole fried fish, and great chicken soup. The food wasn't bad but the place needs some serious upkeep. It was a bit dirty and just really worn down in general. The lomo saltado we ordered was tasty, but it needed more sauce and the French fries were basically burnt. The taste of the beef was good so we just ate it. Overall OK. But normally, people will write a review when the experience was or has been real good or real bad. In other words, worthy enough to come use/waste your time writting here. I had to write bad experience: Repeated times I asked for black meat but got white meat. Is ok one time but not 4 times in a row, after you emphasize the specification and mention the error of last time and still happens. And also not after the ticket clearly says dark and then still the preparers do white. Not after you assume that a 3rd time all clearly spoken, you assume it would be ridiculous to do it again that you didnt check the order, but atill at home the repeat the same error, and if thats not enough, seeing that 90% of the time you get chicken breast, it is not cooked well, where it has some blood and smells rough/borderline raw, or is hard and the chiken doesnt peel easy off the breast piece clearly being undercooked. Another time, I ordered for a second time a "Chaufla" and I said "the one with chiken and meat and shrimp" and the lady at the counter said "the seafood one is the one with all that, we don't have chiken and meat and shrimp".... so I said...."OK, I though I had that before, but ok just give me chiken and meat with it then"... Next time I went, I see that what I originally asked is called "Chaufla Lagranja" which has exactly Chiken, meat(pork) and shrimp. So the lady didnt have an ounce of courtesy to say "maybe you are refering to the Lagranja Chaufla which has chicken, pork and shrimp." instead of saying plainly "no, we dont have that which you ask". So if you dont have the exact name of the dish, good luck trying to ask for it naming the notable ingredients it has....you may be told "nope, dont know what you are talking about". All this is fixed by having the manager care and observe more, regularly verify food quality standards at the view point of the customer, not on paper, and having people care a bit since they are in the food service business and mainly Pay attention to what the customer asks and to what they are doing instead of assuming and following mediocrity attitude.. read more

The food here is nothing to die for. Chicken has zero seasoning, white rice is ok, bean sauce ok, seafood soup is pretty good. The best thing I had here by far is the rice pudding. Do not leave without trying it. For the most part the food is under seasoned. This place is over staffed but still takes awhile to get your food. All of their sauces are onion based and is needed to enjoy the food. Pricing is average nothing too expensive but the desserts that are worth it. This is the home of my wife's favorite ceviche. Tonight, she sent me up the road to pick some up - it always makes her happy. "Get one of those little yummy deserts too" she said with a smile on her face as I walked out the door. I like making her happy, she is disabled and can't just go out and enjoy the finer things as much as before. Well I got to LA Granja tonight at 9:46 (they close at 10) and the door was locked. There were still people eating inside and staff (manager included) bustling behind and in front of the counter. A staff member looks at me and just continues about his business. 4 more people arrive a min later and pull on the door and knock and call the store. We are all completely ignored.
