The stir-fried version comes with jalapeños, garlic, and onions, and it was absolutely delicious. Be warned though--the jalapeños bring some serious heat. If you like spicy food, it's so worth ordering. The deep-fried gizzard was just as good. It comes with a smoky, spicy dipping sauce, but honestly it doesn't even need it because it's flavorful all on its own. My only small complaint is the portion size of the gizzards. They're huge. One order of the deep-fried gizzard is around $24 and could easily be shared by four or five people as an appetizer. For just a couple, I wish they offered a smaller portion at a lower price. After trying the gizzards, I have a feeling the original crispy wings would be delicious even without sauce. That said, the sauces we tried were so flavorful that I'd probably keep ordering them. Here you choose your choice of rice cake + spice level and then add whatever toppings you'd like. It already comes preset with a good level of rice cakes, fish cakes, veggies and a boiled egg. I added sausage (+$3.50 for 6 pieces) and jjolmyun noodles (+$3.50). After adding those my total came to $22 for the tteokbokki (base price $15). The sausage I'd get again but the noodles were ehhh. They got soggy kind of quickly so I'll just get regular ramen next time. For type of rice cake just trust me and get the garaetteok!! It's made with rice flour and is the BEEEEST TEXTURE! Plus the name in Korean translates to "grandmas garae tteokbokki" so you have to order what they're known for! It comes in 3 long strips and they have scissors on the side for you to cut it up yourself. The texture is so perfectly soft and chewy. I cannot explain. It is simply the best like frozen regular rice/wheat ones cannot compete. For spice level, level 2 (out of 3) was perfect where it's slightly spicy but it builds the more you eat it and ends at a good medium-high. By the end I was like oooooh it's kicking in. But any less would be too mild and I feel like level 3 it'd be too spicy for me to finish it all and have a good time. It's good but.... there's only 4 little pieces ????? It's so expensive. Like baby pieces. In comparison that whole rice ball bowl was only $6 so I just can't justify this pricing.
