5/5 Food - staple foods, but good. 3/5 Price - gotten too expensive for me these days. But bonus points for Speed and Simplicity I've never eaten-in there but I take food to go all the time. Or I use to, but it's gotten a bit too expensive for me now considering it's mostly just good, staple food. The service is great. They're direct and it's nothing fancy. I love calling to place an order. No fluff, just place the order, show up in 5 minutes to pay, grab it 5 minutes later. In particular, I use to get the burgers a bunch and some of their breakfast burritos. They're all generally solid, and I think I've had almost every combination they offer over the years. It's just not worth it to me anymore when I've gotten better at home cooking and can make it for a fraction of the price. I have been coming to Imperial Burgers since I was in high school, many many decades ago, and this is the pastrami to which I hold all other pastramis to... none compare. In town for family stuff, so when we were deciding where to go eat, I automatically said, "Pastrami at Imperial Burgers." My cousins come here all the time, but they agreed. The pastrami is thick, flavorful. The juices soak into the roll. The pickle and mustard just add to the deliciousness of this sandwich. This is your west coast style pastrami... not your East coast dry pastrami on rye. We ordered onion rings to go with our pastramis. So crisp and flavorful. We got ranch on the side to dunk the giant rings into. Hot and cool. Yum. The service was quick. I had been wanting to try this place for quite some time, so I was a bit disappointed with our experience. The employee taking our order seemed somewhat curt. It almost felt like she was annoyed, although she was still trying to be polite. The food was just okay overall. We mainly ordered burgers, and my children seemed to enjoy theirs. Unfortunately, my burger was overcooked and a bit dry. On a positive note, the food came out very quickly. The service afterward was frustrating. My son tried to get a refill and was ignored for several minutes. I understand that places can get busy, but even a simple acknowledgment or "I'll be right with you" goes a long way. I'm genuinely trying to understand why Imperial Burgers only has around 3 stars because my experience was honestly great. I was in the area for work, hadn't eaten all day, and randomly stumbled across this spot while driving between locations. I was craving a good corner burger stand type of meal, so I decided to give it a try despite the mixed reviews. I ordered the cheeseburger and a side of onion rings, and first of all the portions were HUGE. I honestly thought they accidentally undercharged me when my total came out to around $12. Living in LA, that price for the amount of food I got felt more than reasonable. The burger was big, fresh, and flavorful, and they loaded the onion rings into the order. The staff was really polite and welcoming. I ordered from the outdoor window and didn't even realize they had indoor seating at first. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also used the restroom before heading back home, and it was extremely clean and fully stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap, which says a lot about how a place is maintained.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While waiting, I talked to a woman in line and asked what she recommended. Her response was, "Everything." She also mentioned they make the food fresh to order, and based on my meal, I definitely believe it. I've eaten here since 1982 when I was 12. I know all about mean lady who owned the place and saw her daughters helping out when they were young. Yes she wasn't very kind but I also remember her making a huge burrito and giving it to a homeless man for free. I moved to different city in socal but whenever I drive by la habra, id always stop here as their chili fries, burgers, Pastrami, and steak dinner were so good. Came here few weeks ago and notice a different vibe and I now realize ownership has changed. Hope new owner keeps same food recipe. 2 stars for recent trip as I ordered bbq beef sandwich and there wasn't hardly any bbq sauce on it. So I asked for little bit of bbq sauce on the side and they wanted $1. They really shouldn't run the business this way...BTW Pastrami Meatball was also chewy. read more

The toast is luke warm bread w/ cold butter that doesn't melt, eggs are watery & rubberized, and the sausage tastes like plastic. Their hours are 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM Wed- Sat. I drove across town and arrived at 10:45 PM and they said that they were closed because they wanted to leave early. Shady business practice. I stared eating here in 1980. Apparently it was just recently sold and everything has turned to . The food is subpar, the service is rude, and the lazy manager closes early. I purchased a burger, and onion rings. I asked for Ketchup, and the woman working the pickup window asked if I wanted Ranch as well. I said no, just Ketchup She went ahead and placed a container of ranch in the bag. I thanked her anyway, and went to my car, and drove home. When I arrived home (approximately 2 miles from the restaurant) the ranch dressing g had opened in the bag and had covered the burger, the onion rings, the napkins and soaked through the bag. This burrito is actually very very good. One thing I will say, though is that I did not understand the red salsa. Honestly it was delicious, it was not overly greasy and was just right. The pastrami was classic and it just felt familiar. Perfect amount of mustard and pickles nothing was overpowering, it was delicious. I told my fiance just wanted one bite then it became 4 then 5 until half was gone. Do I feel guilty eating it? Yes. Stop Supporting This Business! If You Want to Close Early, Change Your Hours!!! I've been a loyal customer of this location for over 5 years, but tonight was the final straw. I called in a phone order 45 minutes before closing and was placed on hold. While still on hold, I drove over and arrived 35 minutes before closing. There was already a line at the window, but suddenly they decided they were "closed" and stopped taking orders. The couple in front of me said they'd only been waiting 5-7 minutes, meaning this place effectively shut down 35-45 minutes early. This is not a one-time issue. This is the fifth time this has happened. About two weeks ago, I arrived 30 minutes before close to find the window shut. I knocked, and a tall younger female employee opened the window, told me they were closed, and before I can ask a question she laughed, and shut the window in my face. Tonight, I confronted the same employee. Instead of addressing the issue, she sarcastically asked if I wanted to work there and proceeded to list every other restaurant nearby that I could go to instead --clearly showing she did not care whether they lost my business or not. I asked to speak to a manager. She began yelling, told me to "report them," and again encouraged me to go to competing restaurants. If you want to close at 9:00 PM, then change your business hours. Don't keep the lights on, the window open, and customers waiting --only to decide you're done early. After I walked back to my car, the manager came out and apologized for the employee's behavior, stating he "couldn't control her." That's concerning --because if management has no authority, then customers have no reason to trust this business. Plus this wasn't the 1st time. This used to be a great local burger spot. Unfortunately, it's clear this location no longer values its customers or its reputation. Under Mexican food is the Chicken Burrito. I ordered it. It was put together with basically what they put in a garden salad with chicken minus the salad dressing. The chicken was bland and not seasoned. The tomatoes were fine but basically what you would get on one of their hamburgers. It was probably the worst chicken burrito I've ever had. read more

Stopped by here on the way home looked pretty popular as I usually see a lot of peope I spent about $30 on food including a large side of zucchini when I asked for an extra ranch because there is a lot of zucchini but they gave me one little tiny cup of ranch she had the audacity to try to charge me another dollar for a little cup of ranch this is the kind of thing that makes you lose customers I will not be returning.
