I visited here for the first time with some co-workers. The food was great, and the service was quick for our party size. I tried a few tacos that were special for Taco Tuesday ($1 off each). The pastor, chorizo, and asada were all good. I also had a side of rice and beans, very tasty. I was hungry sooo ugh some of my food was camera-shy Margarita was good as well! Would recommend checking it out.

Great food, fun inviting atmosphere, and owner and staff are friendly, definitely recommend and will be back.

It's been a few years since I had lunch here and not much has changed. The service is still pretty quick and the ladies are polite. Happiest hours is from 3-5pm weekdays We wanted tacos for lunch so I had the barbacoa, asada, carnitas, and Al pastor. Not sure why I needed to eat 4 tacos in the middle of the day but hey, it happened. The barbacoa was the star of the show, super tasty and a decent amount. The carne asada was a great runner up, would definitely have more. Hubby had the chorizo, barbacoa, and asada, and he agreed the barbacoa was excellent. I had the mango margarita, it was on the sweet side but a good amount. We were in and out in like 30mins which is perfectly fine by me.

I ordered the veggie fajita & everything was fresh. I loved that they added grilled celery with it, I never had hit celery lol but it was delicious. All the flavors went together extremely well. The chicken nuggets and fries were fresh, my son loved it. The service was quick & the staff were polite

No thanks , nasty as heck ! I ordered carne asada and the food looked rushed and under cooked !!! I sat for about 3-4 minute and the food came right out . The beans had no consistency it was watery the ambiance was slim to none, about 2 people there eating and the rest was just sitting around. PLEASE LOOK AT THE PHOTO OF MY PLATE 0-10

Stopped by for a quick lunch to take out. I ordered carne asada tacos, esquite, charro beans, and a carne asada torta. Everything was around $34. When i arrived they were out of esquite, so they took it off my bill. They did offer me elote but i didn't want it. The girl at the counter was nice while i paid for my food. The atmosphere was real chill. When i got home the food wasn't hot any longer so it changed the texture of the tacos. I'd say if you eat it there its probably a better experience. The tacos were ok. I liked the green sauce that went with it. The red sauce was hot, hot, hot... I took 1 bite and knew the red sauce wasn't for me... Lol. But if you like spicy, you should try it. The charro beans were my favorite. They had good flavor!! The torta was alright, a little salty but still ok. The bread was soft and good. I would still like to taste the esquite, so I'll probably return. 3.5 stars for me... Check them out!!

My boyfriend took me here to make up for the Las Tapatias/Costa Del Mar scandal that occurred the day before. We originally went to Las Tapatias because he raved about it and their website said they had elote, but their entire business model had changed as they had been bought out by another restaurant, replacing the menu. I digress. We walk into the restaurant and are met with Latin American music and a cool interior that reminds me of Plaza Azteca before they got remodeled. I love restaurants like this. We are seated quickly and given menus and chips. I search and make sure... yes they have elote. Lol. The menus are kind of hard to read because they are kind of all over the place and not organized in a concise way. However, we eventually figure out what we want to order. The language barrier was kind of an issue, I think, because I ordered cheese dip and 2 elotes, with a side of sour cream for my entrée later. She brought the elotes and sour cream, but later we find out that our cheese dip order didn't get put in, so we ordered it down the line once our entrées come out. For our entrées, I go with a shrimp quesadilla as usual and my partner got 2 birria tacos (no consomme) and a beef tongue torta. Our food comes out fairly quickly, and our chips and drinks are refilled often as we wait. The salsa that comes with the chips was flavorful and spicy. I tried some of the sauces given to us, just on a chip for each, and they were sooo spicy to me (not complaining, it's just my tastebuds). So I just had the salsa and it was delicious. First, we share the elote. It was served steaming hot, with lots of cotija cheese. This was some of the best elote I've had. The corn came right off the cob, and it was just seasoned and coated to perfection. Yum!!! Our entrées come and my boyfriend notices that he wasn't served the beef tongue torta, but a normal carne torta. He was a little irked, but no big deal. I heard him ordering it and he definitely said beef tongue, but she said "beef?" and he said yes. So just another miscommunication. Again, no big deal, he enjoyed the carne torta regardless. It was a huge sandwich!! There was a hearty portion of meat and veggies in a toasted roll. The birria tacos were scarfed down before I could take a picture. He always forgets that I like to Yelp! Lol. My shrimp quesadilla was yummy and deliciously cheesy. It was served with rice and beans. I used my sour cream for dipping it. It was just cheese and lots of shrimp, which I liked. Sometimes, when there's veggies, it just seems like filler. It was great!! We ask the waitress if we had ordered cheese dip, in a polite way to see if it'd remind her. She just looked really confused. So we put in the order for cheese dip as we ate our entrées. It's always awkward for me when that happens. But we tipped her well. One weird thing is it was hard to get her attention because she and all the other waitresses were taking shots at the bar and going over to sit with a noisy table and drinking there as well. I dunno, just not a good look to me I guess. The cheese dip came really quickly after, and it was very tasty and a little spicy, served with more chips. Always a fan of cheese dip from a good Mexican restaurant. Definitely come here for some authentic Mexican food and for their elote. Such good food!! With the service, just make sure they have your order down. I think it's because I ordered a bunch of stuff at once that they didn't get my cheese dip in, and my boyfriend misunderstood her about the torta. But everything came out great in the end.

Stumbled upon this place while traveling to Virginia Beach. I've eaten good Mexican food across 12 states during my regional visits. This place has GREAT food!! if you see a Mexican restaurant that says authentic Mexican food you need to run. This is the real deal. I took my Hispanic business partner, and he stated it taste exactly like home in Mexico. I was the only non-Spanish-speaking person in the restaurant and I was glad he interpreted for me. I enjoyed every moment! Great food great atmosphere. You can't go wrong with this place.

Came for my grandpa's birthday celebration and it was a great choice for him since he loves real authentic Mexican food. Food was fresh and authentic just small quantity for the price in my opinion. She told me my $10 huarache was going to be big and it was barley bigger than a sope. Left the restaurant hungrier then I normally would than say, a taco shop in San Diego where we're from. They put a sombrero on my grandpa and sang and he loved it, even gave him a shot of tequila, that was sweet, thank you. Overall, great experience just pricey for the value.

Here's the deal: Jessy's is located in a small shopping strip. While the building is a little older I did not think l it run down or in a part of town that I would consider questionable at all. I saw at least one review that noted this- could not disagree more., nothing to fear here. Plenty of parking and it's free! Once inside the restaurant is medium sized with seating for at least 15 parties and tables that can accommodative larger parties, 10+ people. There are two order stations at either side of the restaurant - one for hot food the other for ice cream and desserts. Service was friendly and attentive. You can choose to self order for takeout or be waited on. While staff wait on and bring you food and drink, pay is self pay at the food order counter. The menu is larger and has something for everyone. Proteins are optional for nearly every dish. The food here is authentic with lots of protections including some of my favorites- Al pastor and chicken tinga. Chips and salsa are scratch made and fresh- very good. We had street tacos which were very flavorful and also scratch cooked including the corn tortillas. Served with traditional hot sauces to add that little extra heat- awesome. The Al pastor was not grilled to get that char that some Al pastor dishes have but was otherwise spot on. Chicken tinga was perfect. If you are looking for authentic Mexican at reasonable prices, this is your place and absolutely worth a few minutes drive over. Hope to see you there sometime- happy eating!

Happy hour was 3-6pm I think, and there were 2 taco specials on the board. I'm not sure if it was valid or not.. There was one person at the bar taking orders, serving drinks, and pretty much running the place. She was very busy. The anxiety of watching her try to handle everything made me a little uncomfortable. She was doing her best, and kuddos to her for not flipping a table and walking out. She was nice, but she asked us every 3-4 minutes if we knew what we were ordering. It was very aggravating. I don't think she realized after several times we were over it. The inside is pretty much a bar setting with a few booths. It's very dated and low-key kind of gloomy inside. I'd say this is a bar for locals, not really a restaurant. It's definitely the kind of food you could eat if you had a few drinks, maybe. But sober, heck no!! Lol. Ugh. I was excited to try them because they have some 5 star reviews, but it wasn't what I expected. When it was time to eat she went and got the cook from outside. We ordered 2 burgers and fries, and chicken nachos. We left and came back to pick up our order and the seats at the bar was packed at this point. The waitress met us as we walked in, with our food. I was hungry, so I tried the food in the car. The burger was definitely a frozen patty and thick as heck. It looked decent kinda sorta, in a way, maybe, just a little bit. Idk what to say. The fries were crispy but awkwardly greasy!! There was one tiny tomato on my burger and a huge onion that was a little moldy. I've never seen someone use a slice of onion this big on a burger. The burger definitely needed seasoning. I think if it had flavor it would have been decent. I'll give the burger a 4/10. My sister got the chicken nachos and she was not happy. Whatever mystery beans they had made were disgusting. They tasted old or something was off about them. The guacamole was a little sour tasting also, and the chicken was flavorless. She tried so hard to make it work, she even re-cooked the beans and it just didn't help. 2/10!!! She spent $25 and felt it was the worse decision she made all day. I wish I was exaggerating or something, but this is actual factual. The prices are reasonable, I'll say that. But it's definitely certain things to stay away from on the menu. I don't think we'd ever return. Maybe the tacos are better than what we had ordered. If you're looking for a drink maybe things would be better. I think they specialize in drinks over food!?

It's a bar a little dive kinda spot I had ordered the bacon cheeseburger for my boy, the grilled chicken nachos for myself. I can appreciate that they didn't put the toppings on the nachos or burger. My sister has gotten some kind of burger also lol. I get dropped off gave my son his food looks like it's about to be good lol until he heats it up for a second, I put all the fixings on my nachos right. Believing things was about to hit smh nope.. my kid said mom I appreciate you bringing me something to eat home but.... The burger tastes like nothing was like chewing sawdust bacon was the only thing to taste alright, fries were ok though. now lol for my nachos looks can be deceiving. My lettuce was brown and wilted, was supposed to be like a refried beans I guess ‍ they were kidney beans looked those. When i say they smelled like I was taken back by the look of things but when my crazy self tasted that mess my lawdt smh had my stomach doing flips. Also the guacamole tasted like that was old and sour. I have had guac with too much lemon or lime juice in it, this was like past its time only looked ok due to the lemon juice or whatever. Will not be doing that again. The ambiance was chill a few of those slot games bar area in the middle of the place a few tables around it nothing to really hype up. I will say even though we didn't care for what we had, maybe it was a bad day. ‍ Who knows other things may be good if we stop past that beauty store again, I'd go and try the lumpia or fried fish taco. Was told that they taste really good. lol honestly y'all go be the judge for yourselves could have been an off day.
