#4 No Regrets with carne asada fries and drink
    Lily G.

La Hamburguesa in Gilroy is a hidden gem! I tried one of their Mexican-style burgers loaded with the works--grass-fed beef, bacon, hot dog, avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo. It was incredibly flavorful and definitely a hearty meal. The fries were also a pleasant surprise--they reminded me of classic McDonald's fries: crispy, salty, and addictive. The service was friendly and welcoming, and they were happy to customize the burger however you want. Next time, I might keep it simple with just a traditional grass-fed beef patty, lettuce, onion, and tomato so I don't need a nap afterward! If you're looking for a unique burger that's packed with flavor, La Hamburguesa is definitely worth checking out.

Really delicious food and a super cute family run concept Hamberguesa spot also very clean inside and friendly service and the food is fresh and delicious burgers, are recklessly large loaded fries and churros as well as the signature pink drink were all so good!...just wish the actual burger patties were a little more flavorful and seasoned a bit more but not really a deterrent in terms of overall experience...you should definitely try it!

HUGE YUMMY BURGERS Very attentive and friendly service. The food portions are huge, might seem a bit pricey but when I saw the burger I was surprised!!! My teen (who eats a lot) was not able to finish it. I tried the salad and it was sooo good too!

I tried this on opening and I would say the hamburgers were pretty good. The price is expensive but they are relatively big. I would highly recommend the asada fries they were so good. The service was super kind as well overall a very nice environment as well so many lights and just looks like a vibe overall!

We were on our way home from the 17-Mile Drive and wanted to get dinner before our long drive back. I found Padrino Restaurant on Yelp, and we decided to give it a try. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted and seated. I loved that they provide the table with a pitcher of water, but I do wish it was a little larger. We ordered the kids' food while we looked over the menu. This restaurant is a little more expensive than most Mexican restaurants. A kids' quesadilla was $8 with no sides included. We ordered a side of rice and beans for the kids to share since they were $4 each. My oldest got two fried quesadillas, and my youngest got one regular quesadilla. They don't automatically bring out chips and salsa, but they do offer them. I actually don't mind that because it can feel wasteful to give them to every table when not everyone will eat them. I understand the choice. I ordered the Stuffed Chilaquiles with beef. I loved the flavors. They were definitely different from what I am used to, but still very delicious. The asada was seasoned really well, although don't expect a huge portion of meat. I would give this 4/5 stars. My husband ordered the Enchiladas Rojas with a side of rice and beans (for an extra charge). He did not like the sauce at all because it was more like a dark mole sauce than the red sauce he is used to. I traded plates with him, and I actually liked it. It had a darker flavor than what I am used to, but it was still delicious. I would give this 3/5 stars. My mother-in-law ordered the Green Enchiladas. They were very different--they were more like flautas covered in green sauce. Still good, just not what we expected. I would give them 3/5 stars. I am happy we got to try it, and the service was great. I am just not sure if I would come back again. That may simply be because we are so used to the flavors and style of food we grew up with.

This place popped up, and once we parked, we realized it was right by the farmers market... so clearly we had made the right choice. We got there right when they opened, so no wait, and grabbed a table inside near their very pretty bar. I had already stalked the menu a bit and had my order figured out for both of us: pistachio pancakes and the chicken mole breakfast tacos. And honestly, both were excellent and exactly what we needed after a wedding the night before involving a few (too many?) cocktails. The pistachio pancakes were delicious, but DO NOT skip the syrupp. I'm pretty sure there's cardamom in it, and whatever they're doing, it takes the pancakes to another level. And the chicken mole breakfast tacos? I've never actually seen mole incorporated into a breakfast taco before, but it totally works. A little unusual, very flavorful, and definitely not your standard breakfast taco. Hubby also wants to add that the coffee was very good!

Because of timing for other errands we came at 10:30 am and they were open on time and ready. Sitting outside or inside is amazing, outside you get the crowd and the sun. Inside you get amazing interior design. My overall feedback is this is one of the rare "fancy" Mexican places that justify the price and justification. Everything is above average in taste and execution. Brunch Tacos mole: chicken mole poblano, scrambled eggs, huitlacoche, tortillas, epazote crema, fried shallots & avocado. Perfect portioning and the salad that came with it had a fantastic dressing. I pulled some chicken out and gave it to my wife and then it was perfect, a bit too overstuff before. The mole and overall taste were quite good though. Chilaquiles: tortilla chips sautéed in chile de árbol-guajillo salsa, topped with queso fresco, cilantro crema, and an egg. My wife loved this so much it made her question every time she didn't order it before. Fried egg sandwich: two over easy eggs on house baked brioche bun, chipotle aioli, avocado, bacon, cheddar cheese, fried shallot. Kids loved this and happily ate the leftover after. Iced Mexican Cafe: delicious iced coffee with a distinct Mexican taste. Distrito Verde: mezcal, basil, lemon, and falernum. Simple but refreshing brunch cocktail, really paired well with the mole tacos. Chips and salsa: These are not free but worth the price. Both the chips and the 2 salsa are of extremely good quality and preparation. Abnormally tasty and the kids went crazy eating it.

As our organizer mentioned, they were fully booked that night so do reserve early. Warm earthy tones in the decor made for a comfortable, inviting atmosphere and the light jazz ensemble and lovely vocal performances elevated the evening's experience. The ambiance is a strong point. Being a paella newbie, I definitely looked forward to tasting a version especially after watching cooking shows over the years. The saffron broth rice nicely counterbalanced the seasoned shrimp, sausage and other ingredients. Thumbs up. I had several portions. The tempura cauliflower - good. KR Enchiladas were cheesey and rich, plumply filled, and the accompanied rice accented with corn. Since we shared the three enchiladas, my small piece was enough for me. Suggest passing on the sourdough side that came with the paella. The bread had melted, but cooled cheese on it and there was not much free broth in the paella to soak therewith anyway. With water being the group's primary beverage, perhaps request a carafe of water at the table to ease the thirstier folks (me). Our wait person gave helpful suggestions and efficient service. The rest of the staff had hustle. As normal with live music, be prepared to raise your voice and repeat yourself in conversations. Parking is ample, with a short walk, in this Nob Hill Foods shopping center.

We started with the Queso Fundido, served on a small hot plate with chilis, garlic, and oil on top. It's basically a block of cheese served with chips. Even with the hot plate, it didn't stay gooey for long, but it was a pretty good starter. The Coconut Campachano was creamy and refreshing. It also came with chips, though ours seemed like crumbs from the bottom of the barrel. We got the Trompo tacos and Sautéed Shrimp tacos. Both were tasty, and the tortillas seemed fresh. My wife is Latina, so we're pretty familiar with authentic Latin/Mexican flavors, and from the moment we walked in, we were a little unsure of what to expect. We completely understand we're in Willow Glen and that Copita is going for a more upscale take, but for us, authenticity and flavor still have to be at the heart of the experience. Our waitress was very friendly and polite, and this review is absolutely not a reflection of her service. However, when we asked about the style of the food, there seemed to be a little hesitation in explaining it, which made us even more uncertain about what we had gotten ourselves into. I don't like bashing restaurants or their food, so I'll simply say that, unfortunately, the highlight of our meal was the chips and salsa. The cocktails, on the other hand, were good and definitely not shy on the alcohol! Also, don't expect large portions. The restaurant is clearly aiming for a more upscale presentation and experience, so the plates reflect that. Overall, Copita just wasn't for us. This was our first visit and unfortunately will probably be our last. I genuinely wish them success, but I think a few changes, especially when it comes to the flavors and authenticity of the food could make a big difference.
