I haven't even left the parking lot yet. I ordered a bean, rice, and cheese burrito. I've ordered this burrito here before and was happy with the burrito and it felt like a good value, enough to get me to trust that I could come back again and be happy. Today, around 2:30 I hadn't eaten lunch and was in the area so I figured I could swing into this place since they didn't let me down last time. Nope. Today's burrito was so pathetic it was about the size of a single tamale. When I got to my car and opened it up I was so upset I wanted to walk back in there. I got a Super Veggie Burrito and it was way less than Super. I feel ripped off, it was supposed to be a Super Veggie Burrito, it was actually quite small, and they shoved it in a tiny bag in foil, 2 mini salsas and a few napkins and not served in a nice to-go box. False advertising!! I prepaid ahead and added a tip! Terrible service, burrito was way too small and over priced!!!!! You'd think they'd appreciate their guests, but clearly not! I'm disappointed. I don't know what it is, but lately it seems like all taquerias are created equally. Burritos, tacos , quesadillas and so on. I tried this restaurant the other day on a relative's recommendation. I was in the mood for a carne asada burrito and called in my order. I opted for the super burrito that came with your choice of meat, rice, beans, cheese, avocado, sour cream, and pico de gallo. Not bad , but not anything to write home about. For almost 15.00 , I didn't see the value here. I feel like taquerias used to be better. Nowadays, it feels like they offer the same standard fare and don't offer anything creative. I miss the days of eating carne asada that was so tasty with salsa that was so hot- it would make a grown man cry. Perhaps if this burrito was 8.00 my rating would change . "Whole beans/rice/cheese/sour cream burrito" came as only beans, rice, LOTS of lettuce. :/ Chile Verde burrito was bland/ no tomatillo or peppers, just stringy brown stewed pork.. Came across them on a drive from San Jose to the Central coast after a long trip, I'm glad we found them. Weird spot in a strip mall, but they were open late so it worked well for us. Super clean spot, they clearly take pride in their business. After we rolled in exhausted from a 5 hour flight it was so nice to get some good burritos. It seemed like this is a spot for people to grab some stuff last minute as several Spectrum and other workers came in about 15-20 minutes before close as well. I was shocked at how fresh the food still was so late and only 30 minutes before they close. Most places around home, we get stale rice, slightly crunchy beans and dry meat and then smother in sauce... but not here. Everything felt like it was freshly prepped. My wife's chile verde was delicious, everything went well together and a touch of their hot sauces were a plus. I got a carnitas super burrito and while I'm used to super burritos having cabbage/carrots/jalapeno in them this was really pleasant with the avocado and sour cream. Their hot sauces are quite good too, nice to have a green sauce with some kick. The salsa that came with the chips was great, I had to put some on my burrito too because I couldn't let it go to waste. I would definitely buy it in a jar to take home. The kids burrito "little burrito" is great, great price and great option for the little one... however our daughter doesn't like refried beans and we should have asked for pinto. But dang, the burrito lasted her 3 meals for a 3 year old so we were stoked. Just literally bought a California burrito with no beans and a large pina from this place and the food was just mediocre. They were so stingy on the carne asada that it was like basically eating a burrito filled with just rice, fries, and sour cream. I even put a tip in their tip jar. I would give this place 2 stars, but I kept it at 3 because the employee at the front was nice and their pina is really good! Other than that, if/when I'm ever in Gilroy again, I most likely won't come back to this taco shop for the food unless they change their stinginess on the meat portions. I stopped at this little place (in a small strip mall) to grab a quick bite and it was surprisingly really tasty!! I got two carne asada super tacos, which had beans, cheese and avocado added in with the meat and pico de gallo. The meat had so much flavor and the combo of all the ingredients was so yummy!! My husband had a carne asada burrito and was also really happy with his choice. The hot sauces and pico de gallo were better than average! They had horchata and a couple other juices to choose along with canned and bottled beverages. I prefer a fountain drink, so that might be my only complaint. The lady employees were really nice and cheery and didn't charge me when I asked for a cup of ice. It's an order then sit down kind of place but was still cute in decor and was clean.
