When we got there, the young man behind the counter warned my husband they were out of snapper but they had tilapia. He opted for the national dish instead, pulled pork with rice and beans. I got a pork arepa, sans ketchup. The food came out quickly, along with a small carousel of sauces. I think he was bummed with his meat : beans and rice ratio (see attached). He was not particularly impressed with his dish. I think if they had snapper this place would absolutely be on the regular rotation. Okay but my arepa was really really good. It didn't need any additional sauce. It had a thick slice of cheese, crispy corn base, and had a pleasant, crisp pairing with shredded lettuce, tomato, and mayo. I loved it! I was full for the rest of the day.
