Local pan dulce pick up never disappoints there have been other panaderias that their bread is just not enjoyable but here this bread is addicting. Always fresh, delicious, fluffy, and great with coffee. Very nice people as well, local panaderia that anyone can easily afford went in to get a bag of bread for ONLY $15! That's crazy affordable, if you go to Porto's you get 2 breads for that price but here you get a variety of bread (around 12 breads)! I really like this bakery because they have a wonderful selection of pan and tres leches cakes to choose from. They do get busy so I recommend placing an order ahead of time or going very early. The workers are very kind as well. Delicious moist cake that was the perfect birthday surprise for my fiancé. They also have cafe de canela. read more

Its a hit or miss here. Love coming here for the bread but during the summer there are so many flies in there I couldn't come back. Ill probably be back closer to winter when there isnt as many flies. Also cakes are good but Ive noticed at times they have cakes out for a while and you can see the fruit rotting. Their tortas are amazing!! I think its $6-$7 but soooo worth it! They have cute earrings they sell here too. Its a bit of a drive for me to come here but I prefer it over a bakery closer to home. It just broke my heart to see the flies inside the store, going on the bread, inside the bread display glass cabinet thingy. read more

We've came here for years to order cakes. This time was such a disappointment. I went in to order my daughter's cake. Left a picture of how I wanted the cake etc. only think I wanted different was instead of white we wanted the cake pink. When we went to pick up. They handed me the cake with no writing what's so ever. I questioned it. The girl had no clue., went to call over the lady that was the once I placed the order with. I told her the cake was supposed to say sweet sixteen. Then she asked me if I still had the picture because she no longer did . I luckily still had it. Then asked a man in the back to write it. Came out mediocre and ugly. To top it off we ordered a 3 leches cake. It was completely dry. Unfortunately this will be the last cake order we place at this bakery. read more

I like all types of breads. Carbs are my guilty pleasure. I have tried home baked baguettes, all types of Asian pastries, but I am not as well versed in Mexican bakeries. So I decided to give La Ideal a try. It was a little intimidating seeing all types of breads but the entire family that works there were extremely friendly and made recommendations for me. I ALWAYS support small business because they are made by hand and you can taste the love and care in the product. La Ideal bakery is no different! I enjoyed all the pastries I tried. I don't even remember the names. But they also make little cake pop desserts! Very good and fresh. Price was definitely fair considering they use quality ingredients. My sister surprised me with pan dulce this morning. She arrived with a beautiful assortment. I am not a fan of guava, but their guava empanada was so delicious. It left me wanting another. An update from my last review ! They have some pretty good selections for pastries and my wife and I have a new tradition where we try new pastries or bread anytime we stop by and we have both found a new favorite. I have two new favorite which are both pretty much bread and sugar they are so fluffy and I think that's what I love the most. My wife really liked the cream cheese filled pastries but I'm not a huge fan of them because I don't like cream cheese but oh well. We will be back for more. Unfortunately the cake we will not be purchasing again because it gave my wife an upset stomach and it made her sick. read more

My family has been coming to this bakery for over a decade. We have seen it go from the small space to what it is now. We love this place and especially their Roscas. With that being said this year we got 2 hard Roscas and when we called to exchange them the lady gave us a hard time, almost like I asked for her liver. We will continue to support this place because I don't believe in crucifying someone for a single mistake but I really hope they work on their customer service. read more

Very disappointed after 5 years of go-to bakery service has really gone down. Cake that was ordered and paid for $45 and they were unable to Deliver what was promised, mind you previous order cake also had issues but has more to do With image so party guest were able to bypass that but a flavor. The bakery even texted me one day before to confirm strawberries filling. It truly dampened an 8 year who was eager to bite into his cake to them get a pieces of peaches. Besides the cake having little fruit in general they weren't even able to put the correct fruit requested and discussedI texted immediately for complaint and Called the next morning. NO PROPER CUSTOMER SERVICE and recovery. TRULY DISAPPOINTED. Not referring anyone anymore. Well we'll the cake I order was a mil hojas and scale 1-10 give it and my family a 3.5 it was so thin to sweet a lot more of the whip or may have been the cream but bread wise was not there. Very little fruit filling inside.. we also had a picture in front of the cake and it was a very small size pic printed on the cake was for I think 20-30 plp can't exact remember for $85 :( read more

I found this place originally by chance and the mocha tres leeches cake is delicious. The sweet bread my personal favorites is the concha and elote so fresh n soft. I recently moved to Bakersfield and I still drive back to Anaheim just for the bread. Julie is super nice and friendly she remembers me and always welcomes me when I stop by or call an order in. This little spot by far is a treasure reminds me of my childhood growing up and enjoying coffee and sweetbreads with my family. read more

It's first come first serve once they're don't they're out and let me tell you... they go fast cus they're SO GOOD. vanidoso cake is my favorite. I was just planning to buy a few individual ones since it was the day before I needed it but the woman I spoke with said I could order a 6 inch for $32 which would feed 6-8 people. PERFECT! I was honestly a little skeptical since I ordered it the day before, but it was AMAZING. The pick up was so easy and it was boxed up well. They also gave me a little serving knife which was great. The cake was absolutely beautiful and most importantly it was delicious!! So light and fluffy and had an incredible amount of strawberry flavor without being too overly sweet. Everyone said it was the best cake they've ever had. I will be back for all of my future cakes.

The self service, pre-made lunch bentos, sandos and sushi area is fine, but once you need assistance from a worker, it starts getting ridic. How so? You speak to whomever is attempting to assist you OVER and UNDER a twenty-four year old counter area that holds the pastries and/or through a tiny hole in the cabinets. You can hardly make eye contact with the person, because all the pastry is in between where you are standing and where they are standing. Some people are tall, some short, but regardless, there is NO WAY to have a conversation with them. They are trying to see what exactly you are possibly pointing to in the case, but as noted, you're talking thru a case of pastry. This is also true at the Fountain Valley location, where they only have a very small counter to check out with many people standing in line trying to have someone collect their order from the back. Maybe also ask WHY there is never any KINAKO donuts? I was there at 11 am and I got THE LAST ONE! If these are so popular, why don't you make enough to sell throughout the day? Every other time I've been here, you were already SOLD OUT! SMH HAS ANYONE HERE SEEN THE SELF SERVICE process at 85 degrees? All their pastry is individually wrapped and you calmly walk through the SELF SERVICE pastry area with a tray and tongs to help yourself. If you'd like to pass the person in front of you, it's easy and doable because there is plenty of room and it doesn't make anyone feel like you are taking "cuts". Once you get to the end, the cashier totals up your tray and puts it in a bag or box for you. Done & Done. Let me reiterate that your pastry and food are all above par and I know you've been in business since 2002 and let me commend you for 24 years of service, but it's time to CHANGE IT UP to a more user friendly process. It's not appealing to anyone in this busy day and age that there is a line out the door, ONLY BECAUSE THE PROCESS INSIDE NEEDS HELP! It's also more sanitary that the pastry and breads are wrapped ahead of time as I saw a fly inside the case today. Ugh.

The lady who greeted me wasn't too friendly she literally started me down and looked like she just wanted to rush me out. Also guys they take cash only but if card use they charge $1 fee. So she took my order and went next door to charge my card but I didn't know next door was a coffee place guess they link together. Funny thing was she didn't smile and the man who came after me she greeted him with a smile because they are of the same ethnicity. Language wasn't an issue here but to stare at customer like that I'm not coming back there ever again. Even though the cream puffs were so good very soft and not too sweet. I always go by first experience and impression. I will be looking forward other bakery's in Garden Grove.
