The lengua tacos are the best I've ever had; a heaping serving of well seasoned, tender meat, with fresh hot tortillas. Jean-Pierre was our bartender both nights (we came back for drinks again the next evening). Brad B. suggested this spot for my friends and I when we were headed down to TJ late and just wanted a chill bar. Mila served us, and she was friggin' awesome. She told us we wanted to order the Bartender's Choice, and when a bartender tells you that how can you argue? She asked us some questions about what we like and then proceeded to take 15 minutes to craft us three cocktails. All three were amazing in both presentation and taste. Mila's English was amazing, too, and there was absolutely no language barrier. One of the other bartenders was rocking Two Door Cinema Club all night. I like that band, so the music was ok with me. Our three drinks came out to around US$5 each. Not bad for a really good cocktail, easily 2 or 3x the price in San Diego. I'll definitely come back to this spot. Gotta try the food, too! read more

INCREDIBLE! Stopped here for some quick appetizers and a couple cocktails after a tip from a local. Best advice I had gotten since I'd been in Tijuana. Their drink menu was extensive and impressive, but they really make their brand with their spin on several classics. I highly recommend the Labios Rojos. GAME CHANGER!! Absolutely one of the best crafted cocktails I've had in 2019 and I completely enjoyed it so much, I ordered a second one after a couple of sips. And the tuna. What can I say about this delectable plate. I don't think this tuna could've been any best. There is always something new to try at La Justina! First of all, there is valet parking! Or several parking lots around. The service is great with the best suggestions. I love their cocktails. I start with a Maria Antonieta in honor of my mom. And I do enjoy los Labios Rojo with the roasted chiles. This time we had the tortitas de cochinita pibil and they were exquisite with tons layered flavors. The best plate was the tuétano that I tried for the first time and it was out of this world. The variety of different flavors in a bone is just crazy then there ya caramelized sugar just like a brûlée! Delicious easy to end the week. read more

From my understanding this is a MIchelin star restaurant that was opened up by a reality tv show winner (forgot what show he won). Supposedly he no longer owns the location, however the food and service are still outstanding under the new management. The food and cocktails are just amazing. I'm not a big drinker, but I have to order one everytime I come here, its just so good. The old fashion will knock your socks off. The tongue tacos will literally melt in your mouth and everything else on the menu is worthy of your time as well. The best part is, although this place is expensive for tijuana, its about the price of an Applebees in America, but you're getting Michelin quality food. The wait staff is very courteous and kind and the restaurant is clean and a nice enviornment. It's also located right in the rio zone so its at a centralized location. read more

Ah La Justina, the swanky dive restaurant on Revolucion. I had been there several times before my last visit, but finally had time for a review. When you arrive they give you chile popcorn on the house. This trip I got 3 items. The 1st was a cocktail - bartender's choice. They are known for their drinks. I chose mescal with spicy as my hint for the bartender. The drink came out in spectacular fashion. He lifted up a box and a bunch of smoke came out of to introduce the drink. The drink was decorated with berries and flowers. The only setback was there was hardly any alcohol in it. I then ordered the tongue tacos. This was a home run. The tongue was succulent. The tortillas were fresh. When combined with their salsa and lime, it was a perfect combination. Lastly I got the tuna tartare. It was served tostada style and had great flavor. The only slight problem was it had to much mayonnaise. I might avoid this dish in the future. All and all a decent experience. I would make sure you tell the bartender for a strong drink. I loved that they have bartenders, errm, "mixologists", lol, that can craft up any type of drink. I only ordered one item off their menu which was a smoked fashion (old fashion w a twist) it was uh-may-zing! If you're in the main part of Tijuana on the avenue Revolucion, La Justina is a great restaurant to stop for food and drinks. It is a little hard to find because their sign is hidden but just look for the Hotel Lafayette and the restaurant is right underneath next to Yoshi Ramen. The food here is good! Tastes really fresh and homemade. However, the prices are a little steep since it's in a touristy part of town. Still inexpensive for a meal if you compare to the States though. My friend and I spent about $20 usd each for 2 cocktails (michelada and the pina a la revu cocktail), an appetizer (the pulpo (octopus) tostadas), and the tacos de lengua (beef tongue tacos). The food was so delicious! The octopus was so tender, the tostada was crispy, the pickled onions and lime juice added a burst of acidity and brightness to cut the fattiness and they had two types of creams on top- a green one and a black one. I think the green one was an avocado type of cream and the black one was a charcoal mayonnaise. The lengua was amazing as well. It comes with a cute little pot of warm fresh corn tortillas. The lengua was equally tender and juicy and they served it with some sliced radishes and pineapple. The portion was pretty big so I'm glad my friend and I shared. We both enjoyed the elevated fusion Mexican food and it was a nice restaurant to sit and eat after a full day of walking. The restaurant got pretty busy by the time we were finished eating so you know it's a good place to try! read more

made a reservation for 1pm for 3 people. arrived promptly on time. the staff asked us to wait 10 mins as they weren't ready for us. upon sitting down tlalcoyote our drink order and and asked us to wait before placing food order. shortly after the waiter comes back letting us know that one of our drinks wasn't not available. we asked for our replacement which never arrived. one hour later, no food order and 2 drinks. We asked for the bill and to speak to the manager who did not even care that our experience awful. I'm disappointed as I had been to valle de Guadalupe a few times and I had been looking forward having great drinks and enjoying this experience. I will not recommend this to anyone. read more

I ordered the La Justina, the house special, which is made with tequila, beer, and cinnamon but it's really refreshing! They also have a large number of drink specialties including bourbon and vodka cocktails which really good and a steal at TJ prices. Figure about $3 per drink. The food is also excellent, with burgers, pork belly steamers (must get!!), bone marrow, tacos, and tostados. They even serve Octopus burgers which I'll have to try next time. We ate here with as a group of 8 and come to El Valle 3 times a year from San Diego. This restaurant is definitely not a place you want to bring your elderly mom. The music was crazy loud (although the DJ was awesome) and it was freezing because it's all outside. They need more heaters and blankets. Our waiter was super accommodating and very good. The drinks and fries were pretty good but the pizzas were terrible. Probably the worst pizzas I've ever had. My husband had quail and liked it. We came here at the end of a long day in TJ. I wish I would have started here because they serve probably the best margarita that I've tried in TJ. We only had cocktails because we just had some fried chicken down the street. One of my friends who had opted out of the chicken ordered and octopus burger (shudder) and he loved it. A big tentacle leg on a bun....uh no thanks. But if you're not octopus adverse like I am and this is your bag apparently La Justina is the place to order it. We were seated outside on the street where we could take in the full extent of the TJ nightlife in TJ. We got to watch limos full of kids on their way to homecoming. Club goers in their club outfits on their way to partay. Inside the bar it was a little bit hipster and a lot of cool. Sliding barn doors on the bathrooms and a sign that says "You Look Good" in place of a mirror. La Justina would cost a fortune if it was in the Gaslamp or anywhere in San Diego for that matter. Next time I'm in TJ I'm heading here at the beginning of my trip. They are craft cocktail masters and you won't be disappointed. read more
