Came here on Saturday evening to have cocktails after eating elsewhere. There is a speakeasy in the back ( close to the toilets) that I had hoped we would check out but that only opens after 7pm. It felt a bit akward to sit in the main restaurant to drink but the host and servers were very gracious and didn't seem to mind. We had a few rounds of drink and ended up with several desserts as well as premium tasting cocktails. The service is as good as Pujol or any of the fancy Michelin restaurants in Mexico City. I dont think they offer split checks, they do take split payments. Separate checks would have been easier after the alcohol. This is a beautiful restaurant with great service. My past food experiences have been excellent and I will be back. It's a solid 5 star.

Everything about this place was excellent. The atmosphere, the service, the food, the conversation. This restaurant was recommended for a Michelin Star, and I can understand why. Every dish that every one of us had was delicious, and the service was just right. They were always attentive, but not in a way that intruded in our conversation or interfered with the enjoyment of the meal. The drinks were the most delicious thing! The best eating experience in Tijuana hands down.

Had dinner here for the first time and was blown away. It was so good! We shared a few appetizers (a tostada each, chicharrón, and birria) and they were brought out one at a time. I loved this because it meant we could really share and enjoy everything without anything getting cold or having to reach over each other. For dinner we shared the short rib dish, the Parmesan fries, and the Mac n cheese. Honestly, I have no complaints about anything - everything was amazing! It not only tasted amazing, but the presentation was beautiful and it came to our table in perfect timing. We ate a lot of food but because it was spaced out so nicely, I didn't feel gross. Our service was perfect and the ambiance inside is gorgeous. Overall, I would highly recommend Oryx!

One of the best meals I have had in a very long time. Flavors are balanced and innovative. It's food that seems familiar, but surprising! Simply great. The service is OUTSTANDING! Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and give great advice. The sous-chef came out and was so kind to our entire family. Music is modern yet soothing... the kind of ambiance that invites you to really enjoy yourself and slow down. We drove all the way from Los Angeles and would gladly do it again. Incredible experience

A real wonderful dining experience at Oryx restaurant in Tijuana. We walked in before a concert at El Foro for Beto Cuevas and were totally blown away by the food of Chef Ruffo Ibarra! The attention to detail and service were great from the maitre'd to our server Braulio. You get excellent food with a story that makes it all the more enjoyable. An amuse-bouche of a croquet that was delicious presented on a bed of rocks was beautiful! Had the ceviche with mussels and sea snail that was delicious accompanied with habanero sauce and blue corn tostadas. The Taco negro with local cod was delicious with a macho salsa on the side and the fish was lightly breaded with squid ink topped with a delicious beat salad! The grilled octopus dish was an experience with our server Braulio painting a Pollock masterpiece for the serving board with pureed onions and avocado and habanero sauces to provide the backdrop and place the grilled octopus on it to eat! The next dish was the smoked corn cream soup! A childhood dish for the chef that was so creamy and flavorful with some beets and spinach like herb added for slight flavors. The last dish we had was the gold rush filet of beef. 8 slices of perfectly cooked meat with the potato puree on top and the Demi glaze sauce around it like a moat to dip it into for added flavor! The only regret we had was not having the time for desert or the speak easy bar in the back but you have to always leave something to look forward to! I hope Oryx and Chef Ruffo and staff continue to give Michelin guide dining experiences to there patrons for a long time and some stars are in there future!

    Tasting menu

We got the tasting menu and it was so delicious, creative, and thoughtful. There was a story for each course and the wait staff and chef described how each dish was created. Great space as well! Highly recommend!

Stopped for lunch during a work trip across the border. To start the place was beautiful, the staff was amazing and the food was so flavorful! I had a taco negro which was fish battered in squid ink with a beet compote and topped with purple cabbage and pickled red onions. The tortilla was almost made with purple corn maze hence the black taco. The flavors went well together and everything was fresh and delicious! Hats off to the chef!

The restaurant has a New York kinda vibe, it feel upscale but casual. We started off with a McCallen 12 year scotch on the rocks follow by shrimp verde aquachile, follow by Taco Negro, Oyster crudos, corn soup with roasted beets, Bone Marrow with pulpo, and our protein was. Filet Mignon. All dishes was done to perfection. The head Chef is Ruffo Ibarra. You will see him roaming the tables to see if the food was to your satisfaction. Service is very attentive by the staff. Recommend you make a reservation and they are open till 1:30 am. Enjoy, we did

This place is way way overpriced.

Don't waste your time or money. Los arcos or lion fish is way better value and taste. They charged me about $32 dollars for 2 tiny tostadas and 1 beer. the tuna was ok not great.

Was surprised, everything was excellent. Ceviche with watermelon with habanero ash AMAZING. Meat tartar with these wonderful blue tostadas. Octopus with 3 kind of sauce with a delicious not spicy chili sauce. Meat wrapped in a leaf And a very special Caesar salad

Llegue a media hora de cerrar pero me atendieron con mucha amabilidad y el servicio fue rápido. Todos los platillos estuvieron muy ricos y eso hizo que la experiencia fuera más memorable. Muchísimas gracias a todos y espero regresar pronto

Food was spectacular, ceviche, black taco, the uni and mussel pasta. The service is good but if you want prompt and quick service this is not the place for you. Ambiance is nice, Modernish. Would definitely return.

    Octopus entree - cooked perfectly

Octopus entrée good, but all octopus with sauce. No veggies. Next time I would like to try the octopus appetizer. The cauliflower side dish generally comes with cheese, but I don't eat dairy so the chef made me a special sauce of portobello mushroom that was out of this world. Really nice music - not too loud.

The first time we went I ordered the garlic green beans which were actually no longer on the menu. They were quite tasty. I also ordered a side of fried chicken which was also good. This is always a great sign. The manager, Ben, is awesome. He greeted us and added us to the waitlist. We were seated after 10mins of waiting in a great spot. Our favorite server, Nathan, is a lead now. We were seated in Matt's area and he was our server. Nathan came by to say hi and greet us, this is excellent customer service here. Matt was also great and customer service oriented and he took our order for table apps and drinks. The ambiance here is fun, family friendly, cool, and good vibes all around. They have a DJ some Saturdays. There are also very cool theme nights. Tonight was "Wing Wednesday". I posted a photo of the theme nights. For example, Thursday is Teachers 15% Discount Day and Karaoke. The walls, seating, and table decor is very nice. The design element here is wonderful. Our food: Bulgogi Fries App for the table starter, Fish and Chips, Chicken Katsu Plate, Side Order of Garlic Fried Rice, And 10 (4 Salted Pepper, 2 BBQ, 2 Sweet Chili, 2 Buffalo) of the $2 each wings. The food was great! The vibe is awesome, and the overall experience was great. We also got a chance to talk to Ben the Manager, Nathan the lead server, and Matt our server tonight. They all came to check on us to make sure that everything was going well in our dining experience. We HIGHLY recommend stopping here to enjoy a great dining experience.

Don't let the no wait time fool you thinking it is not good. I am not a beer person, but they had so many beer options for you beer lovers. They also had other drinks for those that don't like beer (some cocktails). I ended up trying the the Baja Artesanal Frambuesa Ale just to see if it was more on the fruity side. It was. Now as a person who doesn't like beer it tasted ok as long as you don't try or eat anything else. When the food came and I took a sip of the beer after tasting my food the beer did not taste so good. Now onto the food. OMG! I ordered the hamburger with fries and had no idea how big the burger was. This burger has to be shared with someone. The length and width were bigger than my hand (about 1.5 x my hand). The height ... probably a little less than my hand (I took a picture with my hand for scale, but it came out blurry so I didn't post). Not only was the portion out of this world, but it tasted delish as well. Please note due to the size it does take some time to cook the patty, but def worth the wait! Highly recommend checking this place out. I know if I'm back in the area I definitely will be going back!
