    Fried Chicken Torta
    Kelly C.

Staff are super friendly! The tacos are delicious. I would probably ask them next time if they could toast/grill the bread for my fried chicken torta. The sauces it came with were really good, one is a sweeter sauce & the other is a fried chicken dip type of sauce. I also wished they would open more days, I will definitely be back to try their other menu items.

Food was 5star! Best food truck we ever had and just happened to be at four legs brewery in Brentwood. Four legs is surprisingly really good IPA. Both the double and single IPA. La Kura was exceptional good and our kids and my very finicky wife loved it. Everything was a step up. We are looking forward to being at four legs on the 18th of September for our anniversary and bringing our fur family. Good fun and great food!

Mini Ube Pumpkin Tamal Dulce. I think this was my first sweet tamal ever. It paired perfectly with the Dark Bark Black Lager.

The Brews and Boos Yelp event had a special beer pairing with delightful bites from La Kura food truck totally wowed with vibrant flavors and unique creativity. The shrimp ceviche tostada was super fresh and zesty, while the al pastor taco delivered smoky, spicy goodness. Dessert stole the show: an ube tamal with pumpkin whipped cream was unexpectedly delicious, especially paired with a Side Gate Brewery beer flight. This is street food and beer done right!

This place does not miss! I've tried everything on the menu at this point and I honestly can say they have each item down to a science. It is very clear the father son duo running the show are very dedicated. Every Monday at Epidemic Ales in concord then Wednesdays at Sidegate brewery in concord both days from 4-8. Then their weekend hours and locations vary, just find them on Instagram and it will say. Can't wait to go back for the nachos and super kuesadilla!

Fried Chicken Torta! ... perfectly-fried chicken, pico inspired salad, avo, beans, tallera bun and a brewski from Sidegate!

Yep... top notch service, excellent fried chicken torta.... This time with a Ren IPA from Sidegate Brewing... pretty happy rn, albeit in sated zombie land for the time being... I don't mind. Hats off to Rob and Jose, sis was a sweetie too! Props!

Amazing tacos and friendly service. The al pastor was my favorite with fresh pineapple on top. Got a side cheese quesadilla that was great value for the price.

This is my third visit to the La Kura truck, and I am hooked! I try the tacos from every truck, everywhere we go.. the pastor tacos here blow my mind. They are simple yet complex, the flavors play off each other unexpectedly, and the depth of smokiness, sweet, spicy, are just freaking amazing. We have tried a wide variety of things from them now and everything is on point. Even the guacamole had a good lime tang to it you could tell it was fresh, and a great texture. The service is top notch. The friendliest guy runs it out to you with more efficiency than most sit down restaurants. But as good as everything is, damn those pastor tacos... I'm devoted! I will be singing their praise for the foreseeable future.

The zucchini was cooked perfectly and not overcooked or soggy at all, which made the whole burrito taste fresh and flavorful. We also got the appetizer with the chips, zucchini, arugula, and cheese and that ended up being one of my favorite dishes. Everything paired together really well and had a lot of flavor without feeling too heavy. I also tried the mango margarita with tajín on the rim and really liked it because it wasn't overly sweet. Super refreshing and balanced. The Dude ordered the chicken enchiladas with verde sauce and really enjoyed those as well. Customer service was also really good. They checked on us periodically throughout the meal and everyone was friendly and attentive without hovering. Overall the restaurant felt clean, relaxed, and comfortable. Definitely a spot we would come back to again. Especially a lot of vegetarian options ! Vegetarian approved!!!

There's a ton of seating inside, and everything is very spacious. Though, I do have to say it always feels incredibly empty for some reason and there's never anybody actually inside outside of a few tables, but they do have tons of takeout so perhaps that's the tradeoff. However, don't let the lack of eating patrons inside the place put you off. This taqueria offers a good variety of different options as any taqueria would offer, and many of the options have pictures and stuff with it. The service here is, kind of hit or miss. The people in the front usually aren't overly friendly, and will sometimes feel like they're just there until the clock turns work over. Sometimes they're bordering on rude as they just kind of give you an indifferent stare as you're ordering, or will just feel as if they're half listening and not even looking up. The service was a bit better when I dined in, so perhaps maybe it's just the takeout, although it's usually the same person for both. Price wise, it's certainly not going to be cheap. If you want the best bang for your buck around here, El Aguila probably won't be it as there's a plethora of taquerias in this area. Food quality wise, it's pretty good overall. There are some tasty dishes here that will certainly warrant the little bit of extra cost here compared to other places. Things that I have tried here are the burritos and the torta. The burritos here are yummy as they they will have ingredients inside the burrito that is slightly different than your cookie cutter burrito at any other place. It really does help adds layers of flavor to it that other places do not offer. However, the best part of it is indeed the fact they grill the outside of the burrito to get that nice flakiness that wrap, and makes it a oh so rewarding experience. Meat portions was okay, but wish it had more especially for the cost. The torta I got was pretty good, as the ingredients inside were pretty typical so nothing really stood out. The break was toasted well, but I do wish it was a bit softer as it may have been to toasted. Should be toasted outside and soft inside, but this one just felt toasted all over. The meat portion also suffers from the same issue as the burrito as that it's not as generous as it could be. However, the flavors and taste were fine. It's certainly a nice place for those who want a bit of a different style of their Mexican cuisine. They have some flavors here that will be atypical of most of the cookie cutter taquerias around. While they are a bit expensive comparatively, the portions are actually decent (minus the meats). You can certainly be filled with just a single burrito. Worth a visit.

We did find one that had excellent street tacos but they were very pricey, three tacos for $16.99 with no chips. I would need to get two orders so 6 street tacos with tax and tip would be well over $40 which is No Bueno. We weren't sure what to expect from La Tapatia but I liked that the menu had crunchy tacos. I ordered a pork tamale, a crunchy ground beef taco and some arroz. My friend ordered a chile relleno and a crunchy ground beef taco. The food came with complimentary tortilla chips and a salsa dip with frijoles. The dip and Chios were fresh and the salsa with blended with frijoles was enjoyable. The crunchy tacos were fried nicely and had a good amount of filling. I thinking about trying carnitas as the filling but there a bit of a charge. The tamale was pretty good. The masa was not too dry or too wet. The meat to masa ratio was about right. My friend liked his chile relleno. The rice was more well done than I usually prefer and needed a little more seasoning. Overall, the food was delicious, service very attentive and pricing was a bit higher than other restaurants but still fair. I plan to take the family next trip and try other dishes. For a good family meal or with friends, drop on in for good food and service. You won't be disappointed.

I'm already excited for an opportunity to come back soon! I was told the tacos are a must, so of course I ordered a Chicken Tinga Tostada and Vampiro with steak. I also ordered a Watermelon Aguas Frescas. For the table we did an order of Guacamole with Pork Belly (first time ever trying this!) and Birria Grilled Cheese Bites. Something cool about ordering tacos here is upon ordering two, you can grab complimentary sides that include cactus, radishes, grilled onion, and beans. There's also the cutest bottles of hot sauce on the table for your meal. The service was quick and friendly, ambiance was fun and vibrant. Would be fun to come back for a marg at the bar. Seems like a vibe for that post-work moment. I noticed a special kiddo menu and breakfast menu. Also, they have a pretty cool Birria menu filled with fun items like Birria fries, flautas, pizza, ramen, and more! The grilled cheese bites were a great app to get an intro to what a full plate could look like. Super fresh and flavorful food, parking adjacent in small lot, and left with overall awesome feels.

First off the FOOD was amazing and I come from a pretty critical BIG Mexican family when it comes to things like how the rice and beans are made. I got to know them from visiting their food truck on 18th St. in Antioch where I fell in love with the al pastor tacos. And check it out, they will be streaming World Cup soccer matches from the truck for patrons in June and July! Catering serves were amazing and the price point was excellent. Rick worked with me to help plan the menu and was able to provide a bounty of options for vegetarians as well as carne asada aficionados! All the ingredients were fresh and folks had access to all the traditional toppings and then some. The crew also brought huge containers of horchata and pineapple agua frescas, as well as cold waters for everyone. Everything was clean, clearly made fresh on the spot, and super professional. BUT what made it best was working with the El Grullense team. The crew was warm, welcoming, and engaging to everyone who walked up to the taco station. It felt like we had another host at our party - they were just dedicated to making sure that everyone was having a great time. If you are having an event - look no further for a partner in making it the greatest day ever!
