Good spot for a burrito! First visit today, got a super burrito with shredded chicken and whole pinto beans. It was tasty and quite large, though I didn't get a lot of pico or guacamole in there. Lots of meat, rice and beans and a core of melted cheese. Overall pretty good, but I do like some more bells and whistles. read more

Usually, eateries have an indoor area and may have outdoor dining. This restaurant has no indoor dining. Their dining area remains outside. They do have covered areas but, surprisingly, no heaters nor structure to protect patrons from the elements. The customer service was welcoming, the food was very satisfactory, and the restaurant treasures the environment. They use recycled and disposable cartons for the food. 4 of 5 stars for they should invest in heaters. I've been a lifer with Los Panchos - I grew up in the area and would come here with my mom when I was little. They used to be based in Pacheco - I think this new spot suits them much better, especially in the new shopping area. They deserve this nice of a space. I don't decide what I want until I'm in the restaurant and feel out the menu. They have some seasonal items, like the Chicken Tortilla Soup for fall. It's an incredibly rich soup, topped with shredded cheese, salsa, tortilla crisps & dried chilies. This place is great regardless of how many people you're feeding, but calling in large orders is probably a good idea. Sitting on the patio is always nice in the setting afternoon soon. They play upbeat music & the chairs are comfortable. Also a good place to read or write to oneself. A Pleasant Hill mainstay for me. Always a good time for Los Panchos. read more

I've been a fan of Los Panchos for years. A while back we had them cater a party and the food was delicious and loved by all. My go to are the crispy chicken tacos, and the bean dip. Yum! People still do a lot of takeout, but there is seating outdoors on a very nice outdoor patio. No seating inside. read more

Did a walk in and service was fairly quick. Super Burrito with Beef Fajita for the meat was a gut bomb. Didn't find any peppers / onions so I think it was just the chunky beef The meat was tender, seemed like a whole pound of beans and rice, and loaded with cheese. Should have been 2 meals! Chimichanga was solid. Asked for extra guacamole in the chimi and got the $4.50 "Side" of guacamole. Bit over priced for the tiny size. Bag of chips were stale and a let down. Overall, decent. Will try it again when the weather is nice so we can eat there. Foot traffic was solid so it may have just been our experience. read more

BRC, basic but delicious! We stopped by having heard it was similar to Las Panchitas in Pittsburg. I was excited to try and it did not dissapoint. We had an al pastor happy burrito, BRC and bean dip. Ohhh Los Panchos - your food is so good, I miss the good old days. You used to have a salsa bar. You used to get free bean dip with large orders. Now, you are in a shiny, modern spot with a revamped menu. I needed food for around 10 people before a concert. My plan was to call in the order ahead. I called first thing when they opened, the sweet young lady on the other end of the line repeated my order correctly & I should have gotten a clue when she said before we hung up: "Your order should be ready at 4:00pm." Should? We arrived at 3:40pm because I had an uneasy feeling and sure enough, the cashier at the pickup register let us know it wouldn't be ready for 20 minutes. Not a big deal, we were there early. About 10 minutes later, my name was called and they informed me that they did not have tamales. They wouldn't be available unless we wanted to wait an hour. Wait an hour for something that I called and ordered for pickup 5 hours ago? Mmm, kay. My order that I called in at 11am for 4pm was ready, 15 mins late - 35 minutes after I showed up early & they started processing it and didn't include the tamales I asked for. I had to add on chips & salsa, on site. You have to explicitly order every single thing. Gone are the days of a salsa bar & free bean dip. Was the food we got good? Yes. If you are calling in a small, casual grab & go order in real time - you will be happy. I've been to both Los Panchos locations, and the Pleasant Hill spot falls short of the Danville one in two significant ways. First, there's an odd shadiness about their side of salsa/pico. Unlike Danville, where you can help yourself freely, Pleasant Hill seems weirdly protective about their hot and mild salsas. But the real issue came with my $17 Carne Asada Happy Burrito order. The staff told me they'd put the pico de gallo on the side, which seemed fine initially. However, the portion was laughably small. When I asked for more, I was told there'd be an extra charge. The explanation? The tiny amount they gave me was supposedly the "regular serving size" that normally goes inside the burrito, so anything additional would cost extra. For almost a $20 burrito, nickel-and-diming customers over pico de gallo feels petty and unwelcoming. The Danville location has never given me this kind of pushback. It makes me wonder if the Pleasant Hill location treats customers differently based on the local demographics. Whatever the reason, I'd recommend skipping this spot entirely. There are better Mexican food options in the area, or just make the drive to their Danville location for a more generous and straightforward experience. Bottom line: Save your money. Los Panchos Pleasant Hill isn't worth it when better alternatives exist. read more

I'm currently moving and I needed to make sure I ate something today, so I tried Los Panchos for the first time and the cheese enchilada was amazing!!! It's been a tough week but that was a great treat. I got a combination platter which also came with rice and refried beans, as well as a ground beef burrito. The burrito is huge and I'm going to save it for later. Fresh salsa too! Everyone was really nice. I'll be back for more enchiladas because that sauce is delicious!!! read more

I'm done-done after being a customer for 25 years Every time we come, they either forget something or they're out of something. How do you run out of crispy chicken tacos and that's your number one item? How do you run out of green salsa on a Saturday night and it's not even 7 PM? These are the things that have continually happened at every single visit. When you were charging five dollars per Taco, this is unacceptable behavior. Amazing Chicken Tacos and Great Spot in Pleasant Hill The chicken tacos at Los Panchos in Pleasant Hill are incredible. The amount of chicken they pack into each taco is honestly wild--in the best way. Everything tastes fresh, and their red salsa is one of my favorites anywhere: flavorful, just the right kick, and perfect with the tacos. You order at the counter, and it's super easy whether you're grabbing food to go or eating at the outdoor tables. Since it's right across from Diablo Valley College, they stay very busy, but the line moves quickly and the food is absolutely worth it. It's Taco Tuesday and we were in the area. I always enjoy their crispy chicken tacos and today my son was able to enjoy some as well. It comes out hot and fresh, made to order, and individually wrapped. He especially liked that it came with a side of rice and beans (you pay extra for that as a plate). What happened? This has been our favorite Mexican to-go restaurant for years, but last night, we were disappointed across the board. We placed a very simple order, a single super Asada burrito with extra cheese and grilled onions. It is a regular order, and as we have gotten older, one is enough to split. We received the normal 15 minute estimate. I arrived and the place was oddly empty. I walked up to the pickup counter, and was told it would be a couple of minutes. The normal crowd began to grow, and after check 3 times and 35 minutes later, I was called up, I got my burrito, and left. It became clear that they either forgot, lost, or handed my burrito to someone else, but the staff made me feel awkward for asking about an order that was taking 4x the estimate. And what a mess of a burrito. It was extremely greasy to the point that I had to wipe it down with a napkin. It actually left a puddle of oil on my plate. The extra cheese was one solid block in the middle and grilled onions were practically raw. It was one of the worst burritos. The meat was good, but there was no care taken in the preparation of the burrito. I used to tell people how good this place was. I don't think I could do that again with a clear conscience. We have been coming here for 16 years. Today we ordered 3 burritos that almost cost $50.00. When I asked for red and green salsa, the woman at the register refused saying you only get one container of salsa per burrito. Anything after that, there will be an additional charge. This is less than the hospitality that I have been receiving here for years. There are a ton of Mexican restaurants in town a who have free flowing salsa. The food was ok. The super burrito was massive, a good value but it wasn't super flavorful. The asada was bland. The bean dip tasted like the insides of a Taco Bell bean burrito. The burrito had tomatoes in it or maybe it was pico de gallo, but that wasn't listed on the menu. Had I known I would have asked to not have that as I'm not a fan of raw tomatoes. First time here. I went inside to order and noticed there are no tables inside. All of the tables are outside. I placed my order for the chicken flautas and a Jamaica drink. I asked if they wouldn't mind bringing my order outside. They were kind enough to bring it. My order showed up quickly. The guacamole was yummy! The flautas were crunchy, but the the meat didn't taste seasoned, so I added guacamole to each one to add flavor. The beans were a tad too salty for me, but the rice was EXCELLENT! It had the right amount of flavor and fluffiness. Yay! The drink was a 'no' for me. It tasted like sugar water and I had a BIG cup of it. I do like the outdoor seating and hope they have umbrellas during the summer. I suppose all orders have to be to-go when it's raining. Two of our three dishes were uninspired, meh, not great. The main problem was the chicken - dry and lacking flavor. I ordered "grilled" chicken, which was an option, and I don't think that's what we got. The chicken quesadilla was large and tasty. There was no option for shrimp and I found that disappointing. Very sad to see this place that I have frequented for about 20-25 years now (back to the Pacheco location) become now off of my list of possible options. I had back to back terrible experiences in which a chile Colorado burrito was kids sized and BCRs looked mini. The BCR my mom used to be able to eat half of she now ate all of and was still hungry. 5+$ for a BCR I can eat in 3-4 bites is sad (I have small hands). I tried a 2nd time and the same thing happened. I called and asked what had changed...(new tortillas were blamed) which seems odd considering the wet BCR I ordered was the usual size, but the last 5 plain BCRs I ordered were minuscule, and I Will not be back and neither should you unless they fix whatever changed recently. I don't normally leave reviews like this but extremely upsetting with the nostalgia behind it. This bcr barely fills up my tiny hands and looks like a kids grilled cheese somewhere. read more
