We never go since the walk is so far from Oceana hotel but this time we had scooters! The menu had so much yummy choices and it was so hard to pick one!! I did end up getting the strawberry cloud matcha which was perfect!! Not so sweet but you can't still taste the strawberry! My husband got the world's best vanilla latte. I had to have him try it since he's a "vanilla latte connoisseur". He said it was one of the best! I also tried all the pastries. Olive cake and chocolate banana bread were fiireeeeeee! Loved how moist banana bread was! The olive cake was also still really good the next day after you warmed it up. Both were not overly sweet which I love! The cookie was okay. We didn't like the salt on top of it. It was kind of weird too that the staff if I wanted salt in my matcha. Not sure if that's a thing??? Ambiance is casual. Came in today and immediately got a bad smell when I walked in. It smelled like old dairy milk. I wanted a fun coffee drink that's dairy free so I ordered the banana one but without the foam since the cashier said the foam wasn't dairy free. I left as soon as my drink was ready cause I couldn't stand the smell in there (the doors and windows were open btw) I didn't try my drink until I got in the car and it was just a bitter latte. It didn't taste like any sweetner, or banana or any of the other ingredients listen on the menu. Just so disappointing. Safe to say I wouldn't recommend or return. 2 stars for the cute cups and branding, the actual product was a 0 for me today. read more

I've been wanting to try la la land so my friend and I came to this location since it was down the street (a few blocks down) from the beach. It's very spacious inside but felt a bit crowded due to how many people were in there when we went. It was also really hot inside, not sure if it's cause all the windows were open that day, but definitely didn't feel like the ac was on. They also had a good size patio out front with plenty of seating. Merch lined the walls, some pastries and grab and go items by the cash wrap. A small but overwhelming matcha menu (that can also be switched to coffee). My friend grabbed a lavender matcha in a size small and I got the banana cream in a medium, it was smooth and creamy, matcha taste was spot on. Drinks came out quickly, even with the place being busy. Cashier was friendly but the other baristas not so much. **They do have a small lot for parking but best to just find something on the street if you plan on walking around. read more

This location on Montana and 15th in north Santa Monica had great energy without feeling crowded and overwhelming. I had a hot matcha and a butter croissant. The croissant was flaky and buttery: delish! The matcha was good: I like my matcha as close to the original flavor of the tea as possible without all the additives. I brought my iPad and enjoyed working there by the open window, people watch when I took breaks and felt a part of the larger community. I would be back and look forward to visiting other La La Land locations. The interior is aesthetically white. The outside had plenty of seating to soak in the LA sunshine: a very LA coffee shop vibe: sunny, outdoorsy, pretty, green and picturesque. Service was good. Parking is metered parking for 3 hours. I wanted to try this place because I figured it must be good since there is always a line. Well...turns out it has a line because there is only one cashier who is also heating up pastries and doing other things besides taking orders and handling payments. The employee seemed miserable and got my order wrong, probably because they were trying to do too much. All the employees seemed miserable. I didn't realize my order was wrong until I got it but I had waited almost 30 minutes for it so I just accepted it and left. I can't say I recommend this place unless you just want to take a picture of your drink for your social media. If you want real coffee with normal wait times and better customer service, there are lots of better choices in Santa Monica. read more

Very cute store with beautiful outdoor and a little bit of indoor seating. We got their Queen Avocado Toast 5/5: absolutely loved the lemon zest, chilli flakes and creamcheese combo. The sourdough was the right balance of crunchy and chewy and had a good bite to it. Perfect Latte (iced) 3.5/5: the espresso itself was ordinary and their 'secret sauce' didn't stand out as much. I got it salted and that added a great touch to it. La la latte (4/5): friend got this one and really liked it. The cream top gave a nice thick texture to it. A little too sweet for my liking. The place was crowded (Sunday morning) and our orders took FOREVER! The toast took much longer than our drinks but was quite worth the wait. Street parking. I've come here a few times and no matter when I come, it's always busy! I think that's to be expected because lala land is so renowned. The wait time is usually not too bad and between ordering and getting my drink/food it never takes longer than 5-10 minutes. The drinks are super consistent--they're quality, the various foams/specials/flavors are so creative and delicious, and I think it's so cute that their straws are heart shaped . When I've grabbed pastries or small foods (chia pudding) they've been fine but nothing special. The staff are always super friendly, the wifi is fast and free. The only downside is there's sometimes a bit of luck involved with getting a table or seat to hang around, but overall a staple for a reason. read more

Stopped by here on Fri morning and found easy neighborhood parking a few blocks away. Easy order at the counter in a sunny atrium with windows open to the sideway lended to a nice bistro feel. There was limited seating because were there with laptops and staying awhile. My friend ordered the banana cloud espresso latte (and wished they had asked hee what size she wanted because the regular was too small!) We shared the La La Dream Toast -- the pesto on the bottom was overpowered by the other ingredients, and I wish we had just gotten the regular avo toast. Stopped by La La Land to grab a matcha with a friend of mine. I'm not really big on matcha myself, I was mostly just accompanying her, but I will say the location was really nice. It has a very clean, bright, "cute" vibe as the ladies would say. It seems like a great spot if you're looking to start your morning with a matcha or coffee, or even just sit and relax with a drink in the afternoon. One thing I really appreciated was how clean the place was. I love clean venues, especially when they're clean without smelling like someone just finished bleaching the whole place. They also had some really cool merchandise and apparel, which I thought was a nice touch. I honestly think more standalone spots should do that. Service was great as well. If you're looking for a high quality and special coffee blend, though, you won't find it here. The roast itself is good but the coffee flavor isn't really strong--for the coffee connoisseurs, I'd pass on this place. The matcha however is really good! The color is good and the flavor is stronger than a lot of other popular cafes I've been to! The proceeds for their seasonal drinks always go to amazing causes. The tiramisu latte proceeds go to a fostering program! I really love the overall cafe and considering the large is a $0.60 upgrade from the small, I'd consider it decent esp with the average price for lattes these days. 10/10 would go back! read more

We tried 3 lattes and 3 pastries. The banana cloud latte was our favorite. The other 2 were s'mores and peppermint (seasonal). They were also very good, but the banana stood out because it didn't taste like artificial banana flavoring, it was real banana flavor! Highly recommend it. The pastries were good. The chocolate chip cookie was amazing, the best one I've had in a while, the pistachio one was really good (should be heated), and the chocolate croissant was just a little dry, not my fav. Overall it was about $40, so not cheap, but also kind of what you'd expect for 3 pastries and 3 lattes in this area! I really tried to not like this place- all 9 times I came here. I simply wanted to hate it, for no other reason than I was a late bloomer to La La Land, and I'm petty about being late to the party. Every chance I get when I go to Montana Ave, I make sure I park close enough to grab something here, although I must admit that 80% of the time, it's the Strawberry Cloud matcha. The ambiance is always fun. Such a vibe. So LA. Mostly young folks, but enough older folks so I don't feel like I'm invading the senior prom. Service is always friendly, and their product is good. Very good. Very tasty. I never have to wait more than 5-7 minutes for my drink order, no matter how busy it gets. There is ample seating, and if you like to people watch, this place has seating both indoors and outdoors to do it. I have a simple metric for whether a coffee place is for hardcore coffee aficionados - whether they have pour over coffee, esp. with an option to select single origin beans. La La Land does not do pour over, but they specialize in creative drinks that are made for Instagram, but do not compromise on quality. I was recommended the Einspanner with almond milk while the kiddo had hot chocolate. The barista was kind enough to offer the toddler a cup of whipped cream. Service is top notch, while the ambiance is clean. La la land is fun to sit in and enjoy the coffee. The location (Montana Ave) makes it a scene to check out the latest fashion in Santa Monica, Brentwood and the influencers. It's super busy, and very dog friendly. The baristas chug along and keep the conveyer belt of high calorie, creamy goodness flowing at full throttle. Would I go there for serious coffee? No. Would I go there to enjoy a blended drink and enjoy being around a lot of creative people? For sure. You feed off the energy, all the photos being taken, the unique yellow shades that don the minimalistic, almost Japanese chic without the zen. Theres cozy couches and the place is very kid friendly. I came on clear, cool early Summer's day with my mind focused on one thing - new coffee adventure. And it lead me to La La Land Kind Coffee. It was very early Sunday morning, hence, there was scant of humans hovering the store. I was perfunctorily greeted by a young male white staff at the counter. I perused their impressive coffee and food menu. And decided to grab a hot Latte. Minutes later, my latte was ready and took a sip. It was bloody good! Every axons and dendrites were stimulated. Interior design and special layout were brilliant. Seats both indoor and outdoor were comfortable. Service was spot on. Atmosphere was relaxing. I ordered a newer item- a matcha squared and there were about 15 people waiting on drinks. There were several to-go orders on the bench and a few baristas making drinks but no one was moving orders along. Uber Eats orders sat dying while the Uber Eats or door dasher was waiting for their name to be called and it didn't happen. There was no one to ask about these orders anywhere to be seen. After several minutes a barista put more drinks on the bench but never called out names. Several of us swarmed the bench to have to read the ticket our self and had to retrieve the drink ourself without any acknowledgement or chance to say thanks. My matcha was sloppy. It had visible clumps and not mixed well. The "cloud" on top was not cloud like at all. It tasted fine but quality control customer service/ communication is seriously lacking. read more
