On a rainy, gloomy day, I made my way over here for what else...COFFEE! I dropped my sis off to UCLA for an appointment then made my way over here for my favorite "Pistachio Latte." There was a short line but I waited patiently to get my fix...Extra Hot, No Foam, ofc...I wanted every sip to last. I also ordered a fresh cheese danish with fresh yummy blueberries. Plenty of tables inside and small tables on the very slender patio. You order at the counter, get a number, and they will bring your food/drink to your table. Very clean and this location is quite pretty. Reminded me of a cafe in Europe. *Street parking only ~ and that's all I have to say about that...
Roasted vegetables with pesto entree 1/2 order was categorically phenomenal! Divine! Transcendent!! Euphoric! Sublime!

I tried the burrata salad, which I'd never had before, but it sounded too good to pass up, and it did not disappoint. The balsamic vinaigrette was so flavorful that it balanced out any bitterness from the arugula, and the burrata itself was creamy and delicious. Just an overall really good salad. My husband finished his huevos rancheros burrito, and my cousin finished her Caprese sandwich, which says a lot, everything was really, really good. The ambience is very cool. There's some outdoor seating, and on a beautiful day it's perfect to sit on the patio. You order at the front and they bring the food out to you, so it's more of a cafe-style setup rather than a traditional sit-down restaurant, but it works really well here. Great food, great vibe, and a solid first experience. Five stars!
I always love coming to this Urth Caffé location! It can get pretty busy, but surprisingly there's usually not much of a wait. The service is always good, even when they're busy. Definitely my favorite location compared to the others!
I've visited a few different Urth Caffé locations on separate occasions, and overall the experiences have been consistent. The food presentation is always beautiful and the ingredients taste fresh. I've tried the grilled sandwich with a side salad perfectly toasted bread, melted cheese, and jalapeños for a little kick. The mixed greens were crisp and lightly dressed. On another visit, I had the smoked salmon plate with tomatoes, red onions, capers, cream cheese, and a bagel. The salmon was fresh and the portion size was generous. I've also had scrambled eggs and other brunch items simple but well prepared. That said, this place is expensive. Considering the locations and the type of food they offer, it makes sense but it's definitely not a budget-friendly spot. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're on a tight budget or in a time crunch. It gets busy, especially during brunch hours, and you should expect to spend some time there. Overall, it's a lively café with fresh food and consistent quality, just be prepared for higher prices and a wait during peak hours. The staff at this location are very friendly.
Love Urth Cafe. It's been a while since I've been. The mocha and bread pudding are still amazing. If you can get a seat, I recommend dining in, as the people watching is always amazing. This visit including watching a guy's day being totally made by a getting approached and asked out by a woman. Took him a few minutes to realize what was happening, but I'm pretty sure that he was happy for getting a cup of coffee that day. Even if you don't have a LA moment, their drinks and pastries will make your day.

The best coffee in Los Angeles and great food and dessert options. If you are looking in Santa Monica and looking for a healthy or hearty meal, urth is a solid choice. I've been going since they opened and know several of the staff by name. They always great everyone with a smile and even though it's fast casual (you order at the counter, then they bring everything to you) they aim to please. My favorites include waffle and oatmeal for breakfast. For lunch, I love all their soups, the farmer's salad served with the gorgeous nut and fruit bread, the tostada with grilled chicken, spinach tortilla quesadilla with veggies, and if I'm really hungry the pot roast sandwich served with an au jus on the side. I find their eggs either overcooked or undercooked, so I avoid them. I find their pizzas too bready. Desserts are excellent especially if you are hosting a party, get one of their cakes to go or a bunch of the single pastries. I love their flour less chocolate cake, pumpkin pie, cheese danish, and fruit tart, but you really can't go wrong with anything they offer. They have vegan options for desserts too!

On a recent visit. I was devastated not to have time for any of their delicious baked goods, which looked as incredible as always, but did get a chance to enjoy a coffee by the fireplace. It was fairly quiet and beautiful on a Tuesday morning in October.
Hang with the locals and enjoy a rooibois rumi latte or Spanish latte and homemade vegan oatmeal cookie or brownie with huge chunks of walnuts. Whenever we fly into LAX we make sure to make Urth one of our first stops.

The first time I visited Urth Caffé in Santa Monica off Main was the day after my wedding with my husband, my daughter, and my best friend. It couldn't have been a better choice! This place is beautiful and has such a fun, lively vibe. It's also very popular, so be prepared to wait -- but trust me, it's worth it. Once we sat down, everything from the food to the drinks was outstanding. Honestly, it was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. The coffee is amazing, the smoothies are refreshing, and every dish tasted so fresh and flavorful. The only downside is they really need more than two bathrooms for how busy it gets -- but that's a small thing compared to the overall experience. Pro tip: Don't miss the French Toast King, the Eggs Salmone, and a Sunshine Smoothie. Perfect combo! read more

I'll start out by saying I'm disappointed this morning because after years of eating here I noticed that my omelette was a little bubbly and it got me thinking how does it get bubbly and after asking the manager if they microwave the omelets he said yes the kitchen is very small only two guys back to back sad can't have omelets here anymore I wish they would get a real stove at least they could get a guy out in the patio with a fryer like some hotels do but for a healthy Place microwaving eggs just doesn't seem like all that kosher . read more

We only came for some caffeine. We saw the Spanish Latte at the top of the espresso menu. It was bolded and in red font so why not give it a shot? Honestly, it wasn't very impressive. It had the typical taste of an espresso with sweetened condensed milk. Lots of ice inside. The first sip reminded me of a modified vietnamese iced coffee. I think there may have been a little bit of a cinnamon taste to it but it was pretty "mid". Service was fast and ambiance was moderate in noise. There were A LOT of people there eating and chatting. Maybe next time we will try their food instead of just a latte. To be fair, the food coming out of the kitchen looked pretty appetizing. Had a great lunch at Earth Cafe. I ordered the half chicken Caesar salad, and it was more than enough food. The grilled chicken was flavorful, the Caesar dressing was excellent, and the cheesy crisps added a unique tang and crunch that really elevated the salad. The smoothie was solid and refreshing, and the complimentary bread and butter were a nice touch. The ambiance was great, with good lighting and very comfortable seating. Stopped by for just a matcha! Cute location on Main St. I ordered an iced matcha latte with pistachio milk (think it's new!). It was good but pretty sweet for my liking. Not sure if their matcha is sweetened or the milk itself is sweetened. I actually thought the combo of the matcha and pistachio milk worked really well. It gave me a nice caffeine burst! Urth Caffe is our permanent anniversary spot for us. No matter which location, their Spanish Cafe Latte always impresses us! Patio is dog friendly, and their croissants and cherros are just amazing! These sandwiches aren't what they used to be. The chicken tasted dry and reheated, with some pieces being hard. There's way too much cheese compared to the amount of chicken. The salad was good, but overall it feels like they're rushing orders and using leftover ingredients instead of serving fresh food. read more

Urth cafe is just one of those places you go to when you want a relaxing, refreshing pick me up. This is by far my favorite Urth location and each time I go I leave satisfied. I'm also really impressed with the transparency within their menu, especially when it comes to gluten-free and vegan items (I am both V +gf). They actually do have quite a bit of items. I love coming here with friends for a relaxing brunch and I always get the Vivicado smoothie (it's one of my favorites) and the portions are actually pretty decent. The service is always great even when it's crowded which it tends to get especially around lunch time. My main complaint about this location is only how crowded the stairs can get when you're looking at menus/ trying to order but it's not the biggest deal. The ambiance is always great and strangely peaceful even when it's crowded. Parking can be a tad annoying on main but it's so worth it. I suggest parking somewhere on 2nd or 3rd street if you can! read more

Have been coming to urth for over 10 years and I have to stay the quality has stayed just as great as it was back then! The food I always amazing! The pot roast reminds me of how my mom used to make it! The tomato soup is so simple but so delicious every time! The chicken pesto sandwich also has a great flavor! Poach Di Parma - earthy savory flavor from the mushrooms and arugula. soft poached eggs were perfectly runny but not liquid messy. Good toast and yummy prosciutto. The fresh fruit is a nice touch to balance out the heavier main Chocolate Pistachio Waffle - omg so delicious I would go back just for this waffle. The matcha cream is light with so much sweet rich flavor and every bite made me want more. They do not skimp on the fruits and drizzle. And the waffle itself was crisp and fluffy. No. I would not go here with more than 4 people. Especially after 930am. This place is popular and limited seating. It a great place, break away from the large group of eat separate in the cafe
Is it safe for people with celiac disease - complete gluten free?
You have to ask for gluten free bread when ordering. There’s also oatmeal, yogurts and omelettes. That’s about all the gluten free they have.
Do they have Apple Pay?
They have mini Apple Pies that are delicious! As far as Apple Pay?....I doubt Apple will pay for your meal...but call them. Excellent staff.
Are Urth gift cards working yet? I received mine a month ago and I would like to redeem it, but Urth Main Street STILL cannot accept their own gift cards. Please fix!

Is it pet friendly?
Most of the seats are outside on the patio. I saw little dogs there with owners. Not sure if they let the dogs inside...if not- inside is just to order your meal you will be seating outside anyway.
