We are suckers for a good burrito. We don't want to be stuffed with potatoes and lettuce. This place did not disappoint. They packed our burritos with all the goods, meat, sauces, they were delish. Nothing was overcooked, was warm and not cold, great spot.

Quick, clean, convenient, and delicious! Stopped in and tried a burrito - the tortilla was so light and fresh, it was packed with fresh ingredients and was large enough to share. They offer complimentary chips, and a delicious salsa bar with several different options. Prices are reasonable and their staff was super friendly. The parking lot is a little small, but we didn't have a problem getting a spot. Stop in and try them for yourself!

Solid place for reasonably priced Mexican food! Tacos are $3.50 ($4.50 shrimp) and most burritos are under $10. I got a taco combo plate ($10.25) with two tacos, rice and beans. I chose blackened fish and chicken soft tacos, which are topped with onions and cilantro. These tacos were loaded, the tortillas barely able to contain all of the ingredients. My husband got the blackened fish burrito ($11). It was big, but had a lot of rice and beans. They have a salsa bar that you can help yourself to. La Laguna Mex Grill is very close to the OC Fair and would make a great dining alternative to the overpriced fair food.

Was on the hunt for a California Burrito and I found this restaurant on my Yelp feed. Yay yelp!! Had the opportunity to stop by today and it's a cute spot! The burritos are reasonably priced and you self serve your sauces and drinks. There is no drive through. My burrito was tightly wrapped and full. It was lacking sour cream (California burrito), but it tasted delicious still. Service was friendly and I'd definitely come back to try their other options.

La Laguna has replaced El Mesquitito Grill. But don't fret--the food is still delicious! To be honest, the food tasted exactly the same to me (which is a good thing) I tried a Quesabirria, Carne Asada Nachos, and the Super California Burrito. We typically order the food ahead on the phone and it's usually ready in about 15 minutes or less. The salsas tasted exactly the way I remember El Mesquititios tasting. Pretty good! The Quesabirria and Nachos were good. Nothing too special, but still tasty. The most delicious item was DEFINITELY the Super California Burrito. A stomach bomb but still so delicious. Would definitely order that again!

Breakfast burritos are worth the price and is very tasty! They have a morning breakfast burrito special from 9am-11am that is $7, but not including the Laguna Burrito option. Chips were free and the sauces are pretty good with a kick! Service is welcoming and the interior is small, but has enough seatings for a few parties of 1-4 people.

This place is tiny but the food is really good. We ordered Al Pastor Tacos, a breakfast burrito, a blackened fish taco, and a kids quesadilla plate. The Al Pastor was not traditional but was still tasty. The kids ate all of their food. The staff also was very friendly.

Breakfast burrito, that is burnt egg not the tortilla

One of the worst breakfast burritos I have had in a very long time.. no scrambled eggs more like fried and burnt. The most overwhelming taste is the burnt egg. It has no flavor and I can barely taste any meat in it. I used to come here before it was sold to the new owners and the quality of food is crazy noticeable. Their California burrito was one of the best around and after this experience I'm scared to try it with the new ownership. I will never go back for a breakfast burrito which is unfortunate because they used to be really good.

Carnitas torta with chips and salsa.

Great restaurant has a good selection of Mexican food. Staff very friendly and the food was made quickly but not a fast food restaurant. This is a hidden gem with a home feeling. Great ambiance and tv to watch while you wait for your food and eat

They also had tortillas which you could eat with butter that was my first time trying that. The salsa was super fresh and not spicy at all which is usually my main concern haha. The burrito was super delicious. the carnitas were cooked really well and not overdone, I added rice, sour cream, and pico de gallo to mine. I liked how you could modify it to your preference. I have to commend our server Rocky!!!! He is the best, he was super communicative to our table and always made sure to refill our water and come by with napkins without us even having to flag him down! He works super hard, was attentive to not only our table but to everyone! I saw him at every table making sure they were all being taken care of to the highest regard. To Rocky: Thank you so much, this dinner would not have been the same without you as our server. Overall super fantastic restaurant, food came out all together in a timely manner, super well made and lots of love put into their restaurant! I know lots of places in Costa Mesa have limited parking space but this restaurant had a really big lot and we were able to easily find parking. They also play sports on the TV if you want to keep up with the latest events, Everything was super clean and comfortable! I will definitely be coming back soon when I have the chance :)

My family visited Avila's in Costa Mesa to celebrate both Father's Day and my dad's birthday, and…read moreunfortunately our experience was overshadowed by the service. Throughout the meal, we felt repeatedly rushed. Plates were cleared quickly, and it seemed like we were being encouraged to leave before we had finished enjoying our celebration. The most disappointing part came when the bill arrived. Our server, Mercedes, told us that the tip was not included. After my mom paid and left an 18% tip, Mercedes again commented on the gratuity and stated that it wasn't the suggested amount. My mom had to explain that she had intentionally left the amount she felt was appropriate. We were genuinely surprised that a server would openly question a customer's gratuity, especially after receiving an 18% tip. Afterward, it also appeared that the situation was being discussed with coworkers within view of our table, which made us feel even more uncomfortable. I understand that restaurant work is demanding and everyone can have difficult days. However, no guest celebrating a special occasion should leave feeling rushed, criticized for the tip they chose to leave, or uncomfortable because of an interaction with their server. It's unfortunate because we were looking forward to celebrating a meaningful occasion as a family, and the service left a lasting negative impression. I hope management takes this feedback as an opportunity to coach staff so future guests have a better experience.

The food was excellent [wife loved the Elote Corn], the drinks were amazing, the service was on point [Wife said Manny was the best and his dancing is the best entertainment], but what made the experience so enjoyable was the patio atmosphere. I guess they just recently started having DJ's on the patio for Sunday Brunch and the 2 DJ's that I spoke to really quick, Brandon and Jensen were absolutely amazing [Wife said, they used to DJ the Saturday Brunch at the Country Club that her and her friends loved, and the 3rd DJ Matt, Brandon's Brother, they used to DJ Friday Nights at Memphis Cafe].
