It was piled high with lots of tuna mixed with just the right amount of mayo, celery, and seasoning. The bread was toasted perfectly with a nice buttery crunch on the outside while staying soft inside. The melted cheese added a nice creamy layer without taking away from the flavor of the tuna and a nice slice of tomato to finish it off. It was a really good. I found myself in the area as I dropped my daughter off at school. I was craving a char burger and stumbled upon Tom's, 3 minutes away from Coastline Community College. I pulled right up to the drive-thru speaker and was greeted by a kind voice, I placed my order, it was repeated to me perfectly, then I was invited to pull up to the window to pay and receive my food. As I got to the window I saw a big display on the wall advertising housemade cookies, with a good variety of flavors to choose from. And once the sweet woman came to the window I asked her about the cookies, she was excited to share with me that they are homemade and quoted me the price for them. The price was a little more than expected, so I only asked to add one to my order, the brownie cookie. I was a little concerned paying more than $5 for a cookie, but holy smokes when she handed me the cookie, I was pleasantly surprised. That thing was HUGE! It smelled amazing (and tasted amazing too!) I ordered the Jr Cheeseburger Combo, it was well made and a great value for the price. However, on that day, her chocolate shake was nowhere near as thick, and we noticed that its consistency was closer to that of chocolate milk. My mom decided to call, and to my surprise--and frankly, disgust--I was put off by the attitude I heard over the phone. Katerina, I think her name was, was very dismissive of my mom. I happened to be nearby and felt second-hand embarrassment from the lack of professionalism throughout the phone call. "Any complaints, talk to the manager tomorrow," she said. I found a hidden gem for burgers and fries, you absolutely have to check out Tom's Place! This spot has quickly become my favorite, especially now that they're open on weekdays from 7 AM to 8 PM. I tried their signature burger, and let me tell you--it was incredible! The burger is massive and cooked to perfection. And the fries are perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! Tom's Place is a located on 17th St and Placentia, easy to miss because it' in an industrial/business area and is on the way to Hoag Hospital. It does have a dining area but I have only order by the drive-thru. While waiting for my daughter to get treated or admitted at Hoag Hospital I decided to stop for quick dinner. Called it stress eating, or nervous eating and boy I'm I feeling both I have been two diffetent times. I've tried the Pastrami sandwich. The Pastrami was tender and delicious I would def it otder it again. This time tried the Chicken sandwich w/fresh lettuce, tomatoes and a small order of fried zucchini both were on the larger size and are shareable . Even though this is a fast food place it is on the higher price but most places in this area are higher prices.
