    Full breakfast

This place is busy from the moment it opens and I can see why lots of attention to detail and very generous servings. You can sit inside or outside, but be prepared to wait in a line. If you're not there at the moment they open. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast, especially the buckwheat pancakes.

i was wanting to try this spot for a while, and i was not disappointed! all the food was great, minus the potatoes with some being perfect texture and soft while other pieces were pretty hard. service was good, but they did not let us know that we were supposed to pick up our coffee. by the time we realized, they were a little watered down. nothing too crazy though. i will definitely be back! also very dog friendly so it was super cute

I have been craving pancakes and was super excited to try pancakes here. My sister and I both got the Haute Combination and we both substituted our pancakes. Instead of buttermilk, I got oatmeal blueberry and she got orange ricotta and we shared. The sausage is super yummy!!! Probably my favorite thing I ate that morning and my latte was super yummy, as well!!! Would definitely recommend the latte every single day! It's soooooo good!!! Plenty of parking. Service is great. You order first and pay. Then, you find seating. It was packed when we went, and all the tables were taken. However, we only waited a short time and were able to find seating inside. Staff were very good about clearing/ cleaning the table for the next person/ party/ group.

Idk but they do if you show the picture.

I've been coming here for at least 6 years, and the quality has remained the same - friendly staff and excellent food! My go to is their Orange Ricotta Pancakes. These are so light and fluffy, and you can really taste the orange flavor as you can see there is orange zest in the pancakes. Personally, 2 pancakes is enough for me, but if you're hungry or want to share these with someone, I'd get the 4 pancakes stack. I'll be back next time I'm in town.

This is a beautiful space. It is situated in a fun shopping mall. The menu is diverse with many options like soups, sandwiches, and avocado toast. I ordered the three bean chili: it uses beef and you get a good amount of it. I also ordered the wild mushroom and leek tacos. I loved the earthiness in the flavor. The service was very friendly. Our food runner made sure we were well taken care of. I sat in the courtyard. The nearby flower shop makes it a very pleasant experience.

the pancakes don't taste that good and it took over 30 minutes to come out when the store was relatively empty at 12pm on friday. i got the buckwheat house cakes and orange ricotta. the orange ricotta came out really fast after 8 minutes of ordering, but the buckwheat took an additional 30. in terms of taste, it really isn't anything special and the buckwheat just did not taste good. the blackberry jam was too heavy and tasted artificial. service was nice but food was slightly disappointing.

Parking is in a shared lot & can be notoriously bad so plan to come a bit early to find some. This is an order at the counter, get a number, & sit down establishment. Went around 11:30am on a Saturday & there was a small line no issue. Got the seasonal strawberry lemonade which was amazing, orange ricotta hot cakes which were so good, & I had the BLT with homemade potato chips which was delicious. Outdoor seating is nice, plenty of seating inside & out. Fair prices as well. Nice casual brunch spot

This place had the best pancakes I've ever had in my entire life and I'm still dreaming about them a week later. There was a pretty big line when we went but it moved quickly. The inside is super cozy and cute! And it's one of those places you order first and then go and sit down. I got a chai latte which was definitely one of the top Chais ive ever had and I also got the haute combination breakfast and got the orange ricotta pancakes... oh my god the pancakes looked ordinary at first but do not let that fool you because it tastes like a warm hug. It's the ultimate comfort food!!! I will definitely be coming back for that combo ASAP.

one of my new favorite brunch places in newport! such a cute cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating! parking is kind of difficult especially since it shares a lot with other restaurants and shops, so try to come early or expect to drive around for 10-15 minutes to find a spot (there's also a valet option but who wants to pay for that lmaooo) staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating! i believe that this place is known for their pancakes and it is definitely true! it was fluffy and the orange flavor came through without being overpowering!

Been coming here for years and somehow never left a review. Realized it this morning while standing in their (always) long line. This spot is consistently solid, and honestly, it's one of the cutest cafés in one of the nicest neighborhoods in OC -- the location alone is a big win. Service today was excellent -- super friendly staff that make you feel welcome right away. Food-wise, most things are really good. The standouts (no surprise): the sausage (pause) and the famous orange ricotta pancakes. Definitely worth the hype. Everything else on the menu is solid, too. If I had one gripe, it'd be the coffee/espresso bar. Not terrible, but a little underwhelming -- maybe I'm just not a fan of their beans. Thankfully, Kit Coffee is right next door, so you can go wait in their long line before hopping into Haute Cakes' long line. All in all, a neighborhood gem that's always worth it -- just be ready for the wait.

Haute Cakes Caffe might have my favorite pancakes ever. This is one of my go to spots for brunch, especially for celebration weekends like birthdays. It just feels like the right kind of place for it. The pancakes are the highlight, soft, flavorful, and consistently great every time I come. Overall a really enjoyable brunch spot that I keep coming back to.

This was my second visit to Haute Cakes! I am a big brunch fan but as pescatarian with a gluten allergy and someone who tries to eat fairly healthy, it can be hard to find places that align with what I'm looking for. For my first visit to Haute Cakes, I got the Paul's "A Lil" Eggy Sandwich, and then this last visit I got the Buckwheat Haute Cakes (2 count). I enjoyed the sandwich, it wasn't my favorite thing ever but it was still good, but I loved the buckwheat pancakes! The house made blackberry jam and crème fraiche on top were both really tasty. I also got a hot matcha latte at both of my visits which was also very good. I am so happy to have found this place!

Do they serve gluten-free waffles or gluten-free French toast?

Do you still have gluten-free pancakes? If yes, are there flavor options?

Yes they do! I just went about a month ago. They have buckwheat and another (I think oat based?). Buckwheat were delicious! Came with various toppings.

Are there any vegan options that equate to a meal?

    Can you make reservations?

No... it's about a 10 min wait, plenty of tables, unless rude people hang out for hours after eating

Do they have gluten free bread?

Yes they have gluten free English muffins.

    Are dogs allowed?

    Yes! On the patio

    Is there parking nearby?

Yes, there's a large parking lot for the complex

    Do they sale mimosas?

They sell champagne splits - 187mL (1/4 size of standard bottle of wine) and orange juice for you to make your own. IMO too pricey and not worth it. You essentially get two very small glasses of mimosas (more orange juice than champagne) from a…

I ordered a churro latte half sweet and a deluxe avocado toast. The latte was delicious. Sweetness level was just right for me. I don't like super sweet drinks. The avocado toast was also great. There was so much flavor from the egg and bacon and seasonings. It was a little hard to eat out of the to go container, but I made it work. It could easily be shared depending how hungry you are. Inside is a café inspired by natural accents with an industrial flair giving a rustic character with modern style. The vibe inside is chill with plenty of seating for groups or singles. They also have an outdoor area with covered seating surrounded by plants. The menu delivers just as much appeal as the setting. They have an expansive list of coffee, tea, and lattes with several modifiers to choose from. To accompany your drink the menu provides options of sandwiches, bagels, and a variety of pastries. I had the smoked salmon bagel, featuring delicate slices of salmon layered over cream cheese spread, topped with capers and fresh chives. This is my go to for coffee houses that offer it. The bagel exceeded my expectations and I believe the chive's subtle flavor complemented the smoked salmon really well. For drinks we tried the chai and hot chocolate. The iced chai latte was smooth and not too sweet with a dusting of cinnamon on top, but I would rate it average in taste. The hot chocolate was deliciously velvety and detailed beautifully. I would rate it a five out of five! The difference at this coffee shop is that you can choose from a range of seating arrangements and have an opportunity to support the business by picking up clothing, a bag of coffee or other merchandise. The con for this coffee shop is that the beverages are somewhat undersized relative to the price point. In addition, the customer service experience fell short. We were greeted upon entering, but it was unclear where customers should retrieve their order or whether orders numbers were called out. With that said, those looking for a quiet morning coffee or a cozy place to catch up with friends, this spot can accommodate.

Despite being relatively close to two major colleges - OCC and UCI - this place wasn't as crowded as you'd imagine it would be. They serve coffee, matcha, breakfast foods like breakfast burritos, protein bowls, avocado toasts - but I didn't pick anything to eat since I already had lunch. I shared with the barista that it was my first time here, and he asked what type of drink I was looking for. I told him something iced and caffeinated - and he mentioned his favorite was the Honey Cinnamon Latte - which I opted for - iced, with oat milk. Total was $8.50 including tip. My iced Honey Cinnamon Latte was yummy, creamy, and fantastic! With the oat milk substitute, it sorta tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch in liquid coffee form. It wasn't overly sweet, definitely had a nice kick to it - love this recommendation by the barista! Such a cute coffee spot! I love the outdoor seating. It is full-service when you sit outside, but…read morethey do have a counter for grab & go drinks as well. The coffees were a little on the burnt side but the croissants were delicious! Service was very friendly and easy going. The parking lot can be a little chaotic, but they do offer free valet if you cannot find a spot. It was crowded on a weekday morning, so I'd probably stay away from this place on the weekends, but I will definitely come back here again!

Cute Spot, But a Lot of Room for Growth…read more I came to Milligram around 11:30AM on a Saturday after seeing a post about it being a nice spot for pictures. Unfortunately, the patio in the more aesthetically pleasing area does get full so we were not sat there but instead at another patio on the side. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The options for food are plentiful with both breakfast and lunch options. We ordered the Milligram Breakfast and Steak Sandwich. Everything tasted very fresh but the Milligram Breakfast presentation-wise was much better than the Steak Sandwich. I also saw another customer order the Protein Breakfast and it looked amazing! Spices here are very minimal so everything is quite light on the stomach. The service here is what mainly left us feeling poorly about the restaurant. Wait times for food here are long, and it's definitely not a spot to visit if you are in a rush. After we sat down, we had pretty much finished all of the water we were given before anyone had even come to take our order. Then, the food took 30+ minutes, so just know when you walk in that you could be waiting up to 45 minutes for food to hit the table. As well as this, our server seemed a bit overwhelmed or scrambled. We made a to-go order that was brought out in dishware and we had to attempt multiple times to grab her attention for the bill, stretching out an already very drawn out lunch. I think our time would've been better spent somewhere else considering the patio we were sat lacked the aesthetics that were the main draw of coming. If you are looking to catch up with a friend and aren't very hungry, this would be the place for you!
