Wonderful little breakfast restaurant. The owner is very friendly and passionate as though today was the grand opening. They've been around for a couple years but the enthusiasm continues unwaveringly, which is great to see! Let him know if something is not right and he'll make it right, right away. Excellent customer service! The ambiance is cozy and welcoming. Their Billy Cakes aka Rolled Oat Pancakes are the star of the show. It seems like they mix some oatmeal into the pancake batter. I got the cinnamon which comes with homemade cinnamon butter on top. You don't need syrup. In fact next time I'll ask for a little extra cinnamon butter. I also tried a regular pancake with blueberries. That was equally awesome. I ordered the 2 + 2 + 2. The bacon was phenomenal. High quality with a nice subtle smokiness. My over easy eggs were too easy, so next time I'll ask for over medium. The Pastrami Breakfast Tacos were perfect. Again very high quality meats. I loved the Pastrami. The scrambled egg was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were seasoned with too much Cumin for my taste. The owner said they're constantly experimenting and evolving the flavors. I've been wanting to try Little Billy's for a while, but every time I come by there's a line -- and now I totally understand why! The line/wait situation was a little confusing and I was definitely getting hangry , but everyone I spoke with was SO nice. I believe the owner even came over and was incredibly apologetic and kind about everything. They ended up giving me a pancake, which was such a sweet gesture. I ordered the buttermilk pancake and the chicken Caesar wrap and OMG -- both were amazing! The restaurant is also super cute inside, has a good amount of seating, a great menu, and really friendly service. I'll definitely be back! Everything hit the right notes, from the friendly service, the cute but unpretentious atmosphere (no instagram-y neon signs or faux floral walls), and most importantly, the delicious food. We came here for a late brunch, and the girl taking our order offered us a free cinnamon rolled oats pancake since it was our first time and we were debating the pancake choices. When I asked for extra salsa, another girl brought it immediately with a cheerful smile (in LA, I would get a dead-eyed Gen Z stare followed by a sigh that the additional tablespoon of salsa would be a $4 charge). We had the breakfast burrito (massive, could've just split this) and the 2+2+2 with buttermilk pancakes (fluffy bites of heaven). I loved the cinnamon pancake too, but suggest this as a table share vs a standalone meal unless you have a major sweet tooth. Total including coffee was just over $50. Was visiting Newport Beach and stopped by littlle Billy's. It had a line out the door and had me intrigued. I sat down and was immediately greeted by Billy himself. He was very friendly and acted as if we were long time friends. You order up at the front counter and then they bring the food to you. We tried a little bit of everything. Their burger which was super simple but really tasty! Their breakfast burrito which was a classic. But the star of the show was the pastrami breakfast tacos I have never had anything like that before. It was so good and I will definitely be back for that! We didn't originally order any pancakes, but when the owner noticed he brought a complimentary side pancake for us to try. The only down side is the limited seating. A nostalgic blend of hospitality and elevated diner food. Little Billy's is owned by an actual Billy who had no prior hospitality prior to opening this brunch spot, yet keyed in on the things that matter to discerning foodies: warm vibes, excellent ingredients, and brand connection. One of the first surprising things was that street parking was free (2 hrs every day and unlimited on Sun), which feels like a rare treat in Newport. Hostess Mackenzie had arguably one of the toughest jobs greeting customers as they arrived and keeping them hyped during the wait. And yet, her smile never wavered and she explained that beyond thinking about food, Billy and team thought extensively about the customer experience, which includes being able to park without stressing and genuinely relax. What a mentality! The line you'll probably see outside is just to order, whether you're getting takeout or dining in. Tables are first come first serve after you've placed your order, and the staff do a really nice job of helping clear tables and coordinate your seat even if there's no table immediately available by the time you order. The indoor space is small, with tables all organized for about 2-4 diners each, with additional outdoor sidewalk seating. This allows them to ensure that no one is trying to poach a table and make diners feel attended to during their stay. They're also highly conscious of kids and have high chairs available for tots of all ages as well as a dedicated kid's menu. Single occupancy unisex bathroom available in the narrow hallway to the kitchen and alleyway is available if you've drunk too much coffee or OJ. Okay, everyone mentions that the Billy Cakes are a must - and I'm going to add my voice to that message. These are truly delightful crispy (gluten-free!) pancakes topped with the creamiest butter and streusel mix that you just can't stop eating. The Scramble and Eggs Benedict were also delicious and nutritious, but there was definitely a portion size difference, so make sure you order appropriately depending on how hungry you are. Billy himself makes a point to greet each group either in line or at their table to check in and works fluidly in all aspects of the restaurant to keep the dining experience a pleasant one. I stopped at Little Billy's for a late breakfast/early lunch shortly after arriving in Newport Beach. I had done some research on top eateries in the area before arriving, and LB's seemed to fit the bill. That being said, I was excited to check them out. LB's is located in a small shopping area; approaching the storefront, I was greeted with a line and quickly learned that you place your order first and then your meal is served to you. The wait to place an order wasn't too long, probably like 10 minutes. The interior is small, there are maybe like 6 to 8 tables plus several more outside. The decor is minimal with bright, neutral tones. They have a pretty extensive menu, separated into breakfast and lunch sections. It was around noon, so I looked at their lunch sandwiches and their Chicken Pesto stood out to me the most. In addition to the chicken, the sandwich contained arugula, sun-dried tomatoes, provolone, and pesto on toasted sourdough. The sandwich was good - all the flavors worked well together and remained intact despite multiple bites. They also served us one of their complimentary Billy Cakes (pancakes) - it had an interesting consistency and was quite tasty. Service was good - everyone was super friendly and welcoming. I was particularly impressed with the server running the dishes as she was able to effectively multitask and handle all the tables outside. My only criticism was the wait time for our food - before placing our order we were told it was going to be about 45 minutes. I appreciate them setting expectations but still it seemed a little long for breakfast and lunch food. First time here and read reviews about possible line so we were expecting it. Not a problem. It went by fast and boy was it well worth the wait! The owner kept checking in on the people in line, which I felt was such a great touch of care. Once we ordered our food, we were ready to get seated and the owner had a few tables that were already seated move over to make room for our party of 3. Everyone just seemed so nice and the way the owner approached it was sooo pleasant. We were very appreciative of the others for moving as well. We ordered the chicken basil sandwich, breakfast burrito and eggs dish. I forgot to order the cinnamon pancake (as the couple Behind us suggested it) and the owner just brought it out to us to try. He then brought a buttermilk one for us to try as well while we were waiting for our meals. The food was amazing, the service the people in the restaurant were beyond exceptional. Wanted a solid breakfast burrito on a Sunday morning, and after having a hard time finding the right spot, we came across Little Billy's and decided to give it a try. The moment we got there, we saw how packed it was, which honestly made us even more excited. From the start, the customer service was excellent. Billy himself was there going from table to table, checking in on everyone, making sure food was good, and refilling drinks. His energy and kindness felt so genuine. You can tell he really cares and works hard to create a great experience. Bad service today(usually great) with no one in the kitchen showing any urgency/caring. My table has a view into the kitchen. Kitchen staff need a kick in the rear end. Front of house staff have no supervision and don't say much to speed things up. My order came up and the lady at the counter just patiently waited for my daughter's food to come up to deliver(food just sitting on the counter with no heat lamps). Problem was, I then received Luke warm eggs. At the end of the meal she brought us a pancake for the wait. My advice to management is when you are not in your rush hours, make sure kitchen staff don't change shifts without a point person. This would not have happened if ownership was present. The interior is a small, pastel blue space but there is so much sunlight it truly feels big. The prices of each meal are reasonable for the portion and the owner generously gave us a sample of the Billy pancake as well (which was the best thing I ate)! The pancakes are fluffy and huge. The omelets were cooked well with lots of add-ins. The breakfast burritos were good, a little too much tortilla at the end which always tends to happen with bfast burritos lol. They had tasted syrup for pancakes and sauces for the burritos. I can't even tell you how much we love Little Billy's. First of all, I'm an artist, so I was immediately drawn to their branding. The logo is so cute! I bought some of their merch in Day 1 and I wear it all the time! Billy and his team are amazing! The service is always above and beyond. You're greeted with a smile every single time and they genuinely take care of everyone. This is absolutely a local favorite! My go to order right now is the Big Brekkie with an over easy egg instead of scrambled, which they're always happy to do. My fiancé cannot stop talking about the pastrami breakfast tacos. He raves and craves it all the time, so if it's your first time here, I highly recommend trying both of those dishes. I also had their Cinna Stack the other day and wow! If you love Cinnamon Toast Crunch, these pancakes are for you. Honestly though, all of their pancakes are incredible. My partner got the Billy breakfast burrito and he thought it was okay, he said he preferred my sandwich. What stole the show for me was the cinnamon billy cakes, I loved them! The cinnamon and the oat made them delicious. I will say that we ordered a single pancake but we got 3 and got charged 3 when we explicitly asked for 1. Overall I would come back. The service was good. The hot pot coffee was good. I will say that the place itself is tiny with not so much seating. First time here and we will definitely be back. We came because it's only a couple of minutes down the street, and there's parking around there. We parked on the street, but it was pretty easy to do it and there's a lot of parking lots around. But also because they're famous Billy cakes can be ordered gluten-free. We got the gluten-free cinnamon Billy cakes and they were delicious. If the gluten-free was that good, I can't even imagine how good the regular ones are, but I plan to get those the next time I come. They were so thin and crispy, but yet soft and fluffy on the inside. We also got a chicken Caesar wrap that was delicious because first and foremost the chicken was quality, the dressing was good and the croutons were yummy. But they also grilled the wrap which not only gave it a nice crunch, but also contained all of the food so it didn't fall apart, like many wraps do. The owner, Billy was so nice and running around talking to everybody and apologizing for the wait. Now the place is small so you typically have to wait in a line and then go place your order and find a place to sit. We were only in line for like three minutes before we placed our order but then there was about a 30 or so minute wait before the food came out. This didn't bother us as we had a place to sit and they let us know ahead of time when we were ordering that the kitchen was backed up and it would be a while. We decided to ride the trolly this weekend and try Little Billy's for lunch. It was a very pleasant experience. There was a bit of a wait- but it was shaded and the attentive staff was constantly checking on the line and doing their best to move it along. We ordered a spicy tuna wrap and tuna melt- both were excellent. We saw all these delicious pancakes going out and got one of those as well- it was perfect. I highly recommend giving this place a go. Another 10 minutes went by and we were getting annoyed. But we finally got our order. The breakfast burrito is good but for $17 I wish it was a little bigger. Waiting 30 minutes for one burrito was not a very good first impression. But I'm not opposed to going back and trying something else. Too busy to eat in store. Surprisingly on a cloudy Monday morning, this small little shop had a line out the door. So I decided to order what I've seen that they're known for which are their billy pancakes. The hostess was so sweet and accommodating. They will even call you when your order is ready on your phone since seating nearby is limited. The store itself is quite small. There were probably six tables on the inside and two tables on the outside. For an order of their flapjacks, it came out to around $15 and when I got home, the pancakes were still warm and I dug in right away . I got the most popular which is cinnamon and it was very unique. The flavor was good not as fluffy as normal pancakes since they're oat rolled, but I liked the texture and I would love to come back and try more of their menu items. read more
