Food is pretty good. My last to go order, they forgot one of my pastries. I called immediately when I got home and the person in the bakery assured me it would be refunded to me and it would take 3-4 days to post to my account. After waiting 3-4 days, it still did not show up on my account. I called back and spoke to a manager. He told me wasn't there the day I picked up my order but would look into it. After a day, I saw the refund pending on my account. Glad they made it right. I love their pastries! read more

Pleasantly surprised by the French inspired foods. Reminded me of some good meals in Quebec. Had the Beef Stew Crepe and loved it and the atmosphere. Bakery has some good options too. Baguette's are good but nowhere near what i can find in France ;) read more

The staff are friendly and quick. The tables and the restrooms are always clean, and the food comes out in a good amount of time. I tend to get to go orders and they don't take long either, even during lunch rush hour!! The food is always consistent and the service is great! Will come again! read more

Love la Madeline but the employee Reagan had an ugly attitude like she was mad she had to get up from where she was sitting on her phone to help me. Been coming to Arlington for business since the mid 90's. I've enjoyed LaMadeline over the years, but have noticed the quality of the food, the cleanliness of the restaurant deteriorate. This morning at 8 am I was greeted with a strong odor of cleaning solution as I opened the door. Employees were mopping the floors while patrons were eating. This couldn't be done prior to opening? This apparently was okay by the manager as he went about his business. I will probably seek another place for breakfast. Extremely disappointed. read more

Went here for the first time here with my daughters. We placed our order with the hostess then found a table. Our waiter came up to us later and said, very politely, that we were supposed to pay before we would receive our food. Who knew? I didn't since the hostess did not inform me. Anyway, so I paid, got our silverware and sat back down, then our food came out. One daughter got the strawberry Roma French toast and liked it. The other got the breakfast croissant and liked hers as well. I was supposed to have the nouveau breakfast (avocado toast, egg, bacon), but the host somehow got that mixed up with the egg breakfast. I'm not sure how, as I stated that I wanted my bacon extra crispy and the egg breakfast did not come with bacon. After I received my wrong order I went up to the hostess who proceeded to tell me that I could add the avocado toast for the additional cost. Adding the toast on top of the amount for my egg breakfast would've been more than the cost for the nouveau breakfast, and there still would not have been any bacon. Needless to say, I was less than pleased that that was the solution offered to me. But on a positive note, our waiter was awesome and the scrambled eggs were the best I've ever had. This place is great! Also has carry out! They have this chocolate cherry cake that is to die for. I am not a sweets person but it is soooooo good! For lunch sometimes I will call in and pick up a sandwich or something. It's close to the mall and not far from work. If I'm out shopping I will stop in and eat. Nice friendly staff. It seems impossible to get a pick-up order correct at this location. EVERY time I am missing key parts of my order, I.e. The chicken for my Caesar, the toppings for my soup. EVERY TIME. I call ahead, I use the Bonne Rewards App. It doesn't seem that make a difference. Unless I'm in line ordering at the restaurant, this very simple order never gets done right. It's this location. I came to town on business and was excited to find a French cafe. When I walked in I was greeted with friendly staff but the ordering was confusing at first. I had Croque Monsieur (1/2) with Caesar salad and ordered some pastries. Sad to say the food was disappointing. A must visit. There is a large variety of foods to choose from, like soups, sandwiches, pastries, and more. Service can be a little slow, but that's because the food is so well prepared. The desserts are the best part. Creme brule (?), cake, parfaits, tarts, and more. My recommendation is a half sandwich and a cup of potato soup, and to finish it off, a chocolate parfait. This place has very good coffee and bakery. They offer a few different freshly-baked breads, which are very good. The cakes are wonderful! I will recommend this place for breakfast. I ordered Mediterranean Paella, but was not very much impressed. It was OK, but I will not order it again. The coffee mugs were not very clean, I changed two of them. The host at the front door seems a bit distracted too often to take your order. He seems too interested in doing other people's job instead of his own and causes the wait time to be unnecessarily long. The food is good and have decent portion size. It's not very kid friendly if you have a toddler or smaller. The tables are close together and the high chairs have broken straps. read more

When I called, the host (Monica) was not even being nice and did not try to explain the sides that come with my croissant ands the pasta that I ordered and she talked to me like I was asking for free food from your restaurant. When I came picked up my order, she, I did not even get a greeting from her, the only thing she asked me was " Picked up?". What if I wasn't the one who called and placed the order to go? I then handed her my credit card and she didn't even bother to ask what I ordered or what the name the order was under. I ate here for the first time on the night of 11/7/13, and I came out with a few thoughts. First off, I love the atmosphere. My party of 3 were able to sit down for a good while and just talk and catch up without feeling any pressure at all to turn over the table for the restaurant.. Next up, service. The service was friendly, if a little pushy at times while we were waiting for the rest of our party to show up, It took a surprising amount of time for our food to come out, considering how it didn't seem overly busy. It seemed that some larger parties who ordered after us got their food sooner, and when we got our food, they only initially gave me a half sandwich instead of a full, although they fixed this very quickly. The food itself made up for this. I ordered a turkey bistro sandwich (turkey, swiss, and bacon) with a cup of french onion soup and salt and pepper chips. I also split a quiche lorraine with my girlfriend. I thought the quiche was a little bland and lacking in most ingredients besides egg, but the soup, chips, and sandwich were excellent. Dessert was a slice of cheesecake and a cup of hot chocolate. The cheesecake felt and tasted as though it had been in the cooler for a very, very long time (to be fair, it was the last piece they had that night), but the chocolate was very good. Customer service and parking awful here! They have rude staff that will flat out ignore you and even yack on the phone. There is one lady that is consistently rude every time at the register. She acts as though she could care less if you come back or not. Long wait times. Strange considering the amount of staff standing around behind the counter, yet it takes 25 minutes to get a basic salad? The service has been a problem for quite some time at this location. The chicken was juicy and the sauce was creamy. $6.95 was a great price for it. My husband ordered the soup and sandwich combo. He got a French dip sandwich and an amazing bowl of tomato basil soup with pesto pasta on the side. Yum! Drinks are a little expensive at $2.19, but refillable. There is complimentary fresh bread slices with your choice of jams and butter that you can munch on while you wait for your food. My husband insisted on dessert so we got strawberry cheese cake minis and they were delicious. Some of their employees seem to have issues with young black customers. I noticed an older white female (Tiana?) failed to acknowledge me or hand me a menu. Instead she chose to straighten her clothes and look down at the floor; even though I looked dead at her. She fell over herself greeting and handing out menus to the next few white customers and going over things with them. I also noticed that she didn't greet the young black male who came in a few minutes later. This was at the to-go counter, I placed my order with Barbara and she is always nice when I come in. I've ordered from this restaurant twice. The 1st time I swore I would never return. I figured I would give them another shot this evening and they have failed again. The first time I waited almost 45 minutes for my order. The Manager apologized and offered a free slice of cake to make up for it. Tonight I placed the order at 6:10 and arrived at the store at 6:30 and the order still wasnt ready.
