I'm beyond impressed. My 3 littles and myself are sick with the flu. So a gf from church ordered dinner for us via the La Madeline website. Unfortunately, due to a spill at the restaurant, their computer was down so they were unable to see the order. Employee, Bill, drove to my home, was apologetic and asked for my order. He got our order, called it in before leaving and our order was delivered by the originally promised time. Who does that?! I've never been treated so nicely by anyone at a restaurant! I arrived and picked up the order @9:50pm. I asked for some of the complimentary white bread and was told I was welcome to go get some. I walked over to get it and there was no white bread left. I walked back to the takeout counter and was told they would get me some from the back. I went back to where the bread was and waited while someone brought out a fresh tray of bread. A gentleman brought out a fresh tray and placed it in the rack and switched out the protective top. I picked up the tongs and someone hurriedly came out loudly saying, "uh uh, no, she can't have that bread. You cannot have that bread. That is a fresh tray for tomorrow. You can have whatever is left from the other tray." I said, "there's no white bread left" and he just walked away with the tray. I waited a minute or so and no one ever came back so I left with no bread. I went straight home with our order. I was disappointed to find that both large soups we ordered were only half full in small containers and cold. Not just room temperature, but chilled. The Cesar salad did not come with any dressing...again. This is the third (and last) time in a row that we have ordered salad with no dressing included, even when I mentioned to please be sure to include dressing this time. It is not convenient nor worth the time or money when a relatively simple order is always problematic to the customer. I'd like to add that all exterior lighting was off when we drove up to a pitch black lot. The store appeared closed and the floor was slippery from being freshly mopped. If the store closes at 10:00, it should give the appearance of being open for business at 9:50 and welcome customers or lock the doors to let customers know that business is shutting down. I have to assume that the soup was cold because the store was shutting down long before 9:40. My family enjoyed La Madeleine in the past, but it's not worth the time or money when the service and the food is consistently lackluster and incorrect and/or portions missing. We gave it three recent tries and it seems to be a pattern. No more. I recommend you try Panera, Jason's Deli, or McCalister's Deli. read more

You need to provide an option for a negative star rating. I will NEVER order from here as the staff are certainly lazy and lack any knowledge of customer service. After waiting 2 hours thats 120 minutes I'm notified that they don't have an ingredient for my salad and if it's ok to serve without. I ask what alternatives can they offer - NOTHING- what discount from original price can the offer- NONE- what incentive could they entice me with to return? "Call before coming/ ordering to ensure they have ingredients". Always a nice stop after a busy day of shopping at the Parks Mall. The chicken friand, tomato basil soup, and lemon tart are a must have. I always get extra mushroom sauce on the side when I order the friand because you really can't have too much of that... I could drink that stuff! This is more a comment on the service than a proper review, but: The last time I visited La Madeleine, it was to pick up a cheesecake for a friend in a rough situation. I had just tried the nearby Cheesecake Factory, but the insane hustle and bustle ordering at the counter was a real turn-off. At La Madeleine, that same process was just perfectly accommodating. At no point did I feel rushed, and the staff really took pains to make sure I was satisfied with the product. They were perfectly professional, which I really appreciated. I've experienced a La Madeline before and I know for sure that it's not supposed to be like this at all. This is, by far, the worst location ever. Employees aren't friendly and are rude whenever the lunch/dinner rushes go through. I love La Madeline, and I suggested it to my mom on a lunch date one afternoon. The only other location I've been to is the one in North Arlington. I had such a great experience there that I was confident that my mom would like it. The woman taking our order was rude. Flat out rude. Didn't explain anything, shrugged us off, didn't provide any kind of help for anyone inside except for just write down sloppy orders on paper and shove them on your tray. She was horrendous, and I regret even thanking her for taking our order. Didn't even care that my mom was confused by the ordering process. If I hadn't visited a La Madeline prior to that day, I would have been so confused and would've just left because of that employee. Tables were sticky, chairs were uncomfortable, and parking is near impossible during peak hours. Noise level was high. My mom questioned why anyone would want to bring a laptop and do anything here. Nothing was refilled; I had the hardest time getting napkins, butter, or jam for the small amount of bread that was left. I was so embarrassed that I even suggested to bring my mother here. Never again will I dine in at this location. The only reason why I give this location two stars instead of one is because the food is somewhat consistent with the other location's food. Same things, but my mom thought her Chicken Parisien was overcooked (chicken and bread were too tough). However, we both love the Cream of Mushroom soup here, and would get it over and over it without hesitation. Plain sandwiches and terrible, terrible service. If you order here, take it home. Would avoid dining in to minimize the amount of time that you need to spend with the rude and lazy employees here. I'm still so embarrassed that I brought my mother here to dine in. The food has always been good but when I recently placed an online order to be delivered to a friend of mine they really showed how much they valued their customers. Something went wrong and they were only able to see that an order had been placed, not what the actual order was. Not reaching me by phone, Bill from La Madeleine went to my friends house, took her order in person, and made sure her delivery was made timely. Nicely done! My sister and I frequent this place together when we're both in town visiting our parents. We started coming here since high school. Our favorites are: chicken pesto pasta (must have), potato soup, quiche (it hasn't been great the last several times), chicken crepe, pesto cheese straws, strawberry ramonoff (awesome brandy cream sauce), and croissants. I'm glad to see they make mini pastries now, so I can eat/try multiples at once without feeling as guilty. You're usually greeted by a staff once you walk in. If you want to order salad, soup, quiche, chicken friand, drinks and dessert, then grab a tray and go down the line. Used to come here every Sunday morning with a good friend and read the paper while enjoying the amazing breakfast and the view of humble old people sprinkled all over the place. I've always loved their food. The tomato basil is delicious! Oh and I'm a huge cheesecake fan. If you're a cheesecake monster like I am you NEED to come chomp theirs down. This location of La Madeleine never fails to disappoint. The last two times I placed take out orders here I get home without all the food I paid for. Sandwiches are around $10 but the quality has been slipping for years and now produce only tasteless, overpriced food. The last time I got home with the sides but no sandwich. Today I received the most ridiculous looking sandwich I've ever seen. They called it a croque monsieur but is was a far cry from a real croque monsieur. The top slice of bread was 8"x4" while the bottom slice was 5"x3". The sandwich was constructed by placing 4 thin slices of ham on the small piece of bread and topping it with a miniature piece of swill cheese. They spread a very thin layer of the garlic cream sauce on the large slice and sprinkled with some shredded cheese and slapped that on top of the ham before running the sandwich through some type of broiler until the cheese on top was melted. The ratio of the sandwich ingredients was so wrong and was mostly just dry toasted bread. The meat and cheese inside never got warm enough to melt the cheese. I think this is my last trip to La Madeliene. Would probably be a good idea for the corporation to send some of their quality control people to that location more frequently to see how their food is prepared. Until then, don't waste your money here. Plenty of places offer tasty sandwiches for the same price and take time to make sure they they look appetizing and are delicious. read more

So I love this restaurant in total BUT after months of dirty glasses and utensils, cold coffee (or sometimes no coffee) unfortunately, I feel compelled to warn others. The food has still been good, but if they don't get their act together soon, I'm afraid they will lose 2 fairly loyal patrons. I've been coming to this location for years to eat and their service has gone down hill. Yesterday I placed a to-go order and arrived probably 5-10 minutes since i've placed it. I parked curbside and they brought it out quickly, but the lady who brought it out obviously had an attitude and did not even smile when handing me the food. Mind you, there have been certain protocols for covid and she was not wearing gloves. I drove 20 minutes home and was taking everything out of the bag until I realized they forgot all my side items for my entrees. I called back to the restaurant and explained how we were missing some items and was put on hold for the manager. I had to explain everything again to him and his response was "both of my cashiers said they were in there, so what do you want me to do about it? do you want me to mail you a gift card in the mail or prepare the things you were missing?" I don't understand the attitude as well as the rudeness that was coming out of his mouth. I was missing chips, soup, and some chicken for my salad and it seemed like they were accusing me of lying. Why would I lie about missing side items??? I drove back to get my missing stuff and the girl who brought my food out was the one who was in the front when I arrived. She took everything out of the bag and showed me it just to make sure. She wasn't even wearing gloves while doing this and I saw many employees not wearing any as well. Let's just say I would rather eat at olive garden or at least another la madeleine than to come back to this place. We always enjoy our meals at La Madeleines. Today this one was quite busy. Upon entering hostess informed us cooking time will be 20 minutes. That is okay good time to sit and chat. So many good choices wife got potato soup and I got French Toast topped with fresh fruit. Really good, but will get maple syrup on the side next time. Great food and even better customer service at the La Madeleine on South Cooper St. in Arlington. I have come here on quite a few occasions and have never left dissappointed. Each and every dish in the menu has been thought out and comes with its own unique tastes. Although it is not authentic French food, its as good as it gets in Arlington. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: 1. The manager and staff are super helpful and provide the best customer service I have seen in a while. 2. The restaurant is very organized and the environment makes it feel like an actual experience. 3. Everything I've had on the menu had been great. My favorites are the pesto pasta, chicken friand, cream of mushroom soup, french onion soup, the potatoe galette, and the coconut cake. Cons: 1. I came for lunch and the floor was pretty dirty. I'm not sure if anyone cleaned the floor in the past day or two but it had all kinds of dirt and food stuck om the floor. I tried not to look at it 2. You have to carry your food on a tray to your seat and if you're carrying your soup and glass of water, it can easily spill if you are not coordinated or if you run into someone which that does have a high potential of happening since there are a lot of people here in peak time. 3. They took the mediterranean pasta off the menu. :( Overall, I give this place a 4 out of 5 because they have many items that are good and really treat customers well. I just wish the floor were a bit more cleaner but customers can have a lot of influence on that so only one star off. Casual dining chain with a French theme. Not really French but more French inspired. IMHO more of a lunch or a light dinner place. Cafeteria style ordering for most items with table delivery for items that take longer to prep. Much better than most casual dining spots. They actually cook food not just reheat and defrost. Checked Yelp for store hours, which indicated they were open until 11:00 PM on a Monday night. We arrived at about 9:05 PM to find that the line was already broken down and there was a guy noisily scrubbing the floor behind the line. The hours posted on the door say the store is open until 10:00PM. No one offered service, no one said a word to us as we stood expectantly by the pastry case. We walked down the serving line to find that there were a few quiches and chicken friands under a glass case on a hot plate, looking as if they might have been fresh at about 7:30. The lady behind the counter near the cash register looked at me, but offered no comment nor did she asked if she could help. We left. Normally, I enjoy eating here. I find the food to be consistently good quality and tasty. I get that it was Monday night and it might have been slow, but if your restaurant serves until 10:00PM, it should serve until 10:00 PM, not offer the dregs of the soup pots and the dried remnants from the line. We ended up down the street at Rockfish, where we were greeted warmly, seated within moments and where we ordered fresh food from the menu. read more

Great! Wonderful! Beautiful! Never knew they had one by Parks Mall! Went here for my cousin's bday dinner. Food was exceptionally good. The service was a bit poor. Too unorganized for my liking. One of the employees kept messing up everything, she cannot read. There was also nobody standing by the meat pastries. We waited for like 10 minutes until someone came out to serve us. Also messed up our dessert orders. Ridiculous. The chicken la Madeline pasta was delicious, very mushroomy taste. The chicken pesto pasta still taste so good~ less creamy than the other pasta, a bit more zesty. All of the soup is wonderful. I love love love La Madeleine, and I have been coming here for years. I go every year for my birthday lunch (: I share plates when I go with people so we can both have a bit of everything, and everything I've had was never disappointing, but I personally pretty much always get the chicken friand and the chicken caesar salad. I treat myself to a fruit tart, as well. So delicious!!! ALL OF IT!! The chicken friand is a golden puff pastry with a super moist chicken filling topped with a delectable mushroom cream sauce that I get on the side. I've never had a problem with dry chicken on my caesar salad either. The fruits on the dessert always look super fresh and tasty. They have quite a selection of appetizing dessert, but I can never get away from my fruit tart for long enough to try the others! I've heard great things about the croissant sandwiches, the pastas, the tomato soup, the potato soup, and all of the different desserts. They also offer complimentary breads with butter and jams. I definitely take advantage it that and even dip it in the mushroom sauce if I have any left. I've never had a problem with the service. I'm always greeted at the door. I never had to wait long to have my order taken. My food doesn't take long to get to the table. I'm almost always asked if I need anything else and wished to enjoy my food (: I haven't had a problem with the place not being clean. Sometimes there are some bread crumbs, but that's hard to avoid in a busy place that offers free fresh bread... The customer service here is horrible. We come here all the time and recently the service has been terrible. Today was at its worst. The moment our family walked through the door, we see a lady at the front basically eyeing you down. She didn't even greet us but she said "What do you want to order?". As if we would know the moment we walked in. Plus she had an attitude that seems like she really didn't want to be there. While in line getting a salad and soup, we had to repeat ourselves several times to get what we wanted, and we still didn't get all we asked. Plus the server was also rude. While trying to find a seat, we passed by a worker who was cleaning tables. He bumped into me and didn't even say "excuse me" or "sorry". I feel like even if you don't work there, a decent human being would say something. Finally, we wanted a Togo box so I went up and asked the lady at register. She looked at me like I'm causing so much inconvenience to her when I asked for a box and a bag. She gave me a box and I looked at her and asked (for a third time) "May I have a bag please?" (And I am be very courteous and nice). She points towards the front store and said "they are over there" before she even checked. Lucky for her, she found one before walking away and said "oh here you go" and started walking away without making any eye contact. I said "thank you so much!" And she responds back, with an attitude I might add, "Mmmmhmm". Is that a way to treat a customer? I couldn't stand the bad service I've received from each employee today so I had to speak with the manager. He was nice.
