Their fried chicken sandwich was audibly crisp with fresh tomato and lettuce that I made two meals out of. To end the perfect meal... my husband actually coordinated with staff to create "Gender Reveal" pancakes! I didn't realize what they were until I got to the yummy surprise! Their cream is delicious! The pancakes were soft and sweet! The experience, unforgettable. It brought happy tears to my eyes and we really appreciate the thought and care put into our day. The escargot and French onion soup are also favorites of mine. At this point, June's has become a staple in our house--usually with a couple of Diet Cokes and either the burger or whatever steak they're featuring. A few of my friends swear by the chicken sandwich (fair warning: it can get a little messy!), the half roasted chicken, and the tuna crudo, so you really can't go wrong no matter what you order. On top of the amazing food, the staff is always incredibly kind and welcoming, which keeps us coming back. I definitely recommend making a reservation since it tends to get pretty busy, especially during peak hours.

Once inside, the ambiance was actually quite quaint and charming. That said, considering how much traffic this restaurant gets, I was surprised by how limited the space is. I honestly think expanding the property would make a huge difference, although I understand that may not be entirely within their control. One thing I will give them major credit for is the menu. Online, the selection makes it look somewhat limited, but once you're there, they actually have 50+ food options, so there is plenty to choose from. That was definitely a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, my entrée was disappointing. I ordered a shredded beef taco with salsa and substituted a side salad. The beef was extremely tender, but unfortunately, it was also very dry. The salad was another disappointment because the vinaigrette was honestly not good. I don't think I've ever had a vinaigrette that I actively disliked until this meal. Thankfully, my fiancé had a much better experience. He ordered an enchilada and said it was one of the top five enchiladas he's ever had, so clearly there are some standout dishes on the menu. That definitely made me curious about trying something different if I ever return. I also really enjoyed that they offer hibiscus tea. I was very happy to see it on the menu, although I personally think it would be better served on its own rather than incorporated into one of their mixed drinks. The drink itself was just okay, but the hibiscus flavor was great. Overall, I can see why this place has become an Austin staple, but I think the experience could be improved significantly by making the waitlist process much clearer online and by improving the consistency of some of the food. When I got there, four of the eight tables were empty but the dirty dishes had not yet been cleared. It took close to 10 minutes for the tables to be bused. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there. I believe you can also place your order online using the QR code on the table, but I didn't try that method. I ordered the lox n found, a toasted croissant roll with smoked salmon, avocado, dill ricotta, arugula, onion, and capers. The menu says it also comes with a side of roasted potatoes, but mine didn't come with that. The sandwich was delicious and filling, so I definitely didn't need them, but I do feel like I didn't get what I paid for.

I do not usually pour salad dressing on my salad, but instead dip my fork into the salad dressing and then add salad to fork. It is a eating trick I learned about 20 years ago. I firmly believe that a bathroom of a business tells you what kind of management is in the establishment.. Trash can were over flowing with trash. Paper towels left on the floor and the sink looked very disgusting. I was going to take a picture of the towel but I decided not to. Over all no restaurant should ever look like this because customers begin to think about other hygienic measures that aren't being met. Needless to say that Firehouse sub lost me as a customers, well atleash this location has.

i always try to find a firehouse when traveling because it's the perfect grab and go for a plane…read moreride. their sandwiches never disappoint. i'm consistent with ordering their Italian, sub out the ham for turkey and all condiments on the side. my absoluteeeee fav. pretty good chip selection. this particular location appeared well kept and clean. the lady who took my order seemed like she was over work that day. she wasn't rude per say - but when i asked if i could mention her inmy Yelp review her demeanor/ mood completely lightened up. all in all, it was a quick and seamless experience.
