No toasted, No Alioli. I was not even asked. Just plain regular bread and burnt bacon and tomato slice. Not enough lettuce and too mu ch Mayo. I wish that someone checks the food whether made it correct or not.

    NEW! Pumpkin Praline Crêpe

This was my first time visiting a La Madeleine and it was on a wonderful day. The sun shining made for the inside of the restaurant to have a soft and warm atmosphere especially thanks to the fun woody architecture and the active fireplace. The employees were kind and helpful and the food tasted pretty good. The bathrooms were also clean. I wished there was a little more flavor to the pumpkin French toast as it didn't stand out over a normal French toast but overall it was good. I also wished that they provided more syrup, silverware, and napkins with our dishes. I understand that it was self serve in that way, but the syrup specifically was limited. Overall good experience and I will probably be back.

    drip coffee and a cappuccino

We've been here for breakfast a couple of times, but this was our first time trying a savory lunch! We opted for the beef Stroganoff crepe and the Croque Madame with a sunny-side-up egg. We also ordered a drip coffee and a cappuccino. Our first impression? The portion sizes were large--very hearty and filling! The beef Stroganoff crepe was really nice. It had the same braised beef and mushrooms both on top and folded inside. The savoriness paired well with the soft, warm crepe, and I especially enjoyed the crispy edges. The sour cream sauce added another layer of flavor, though I think I could have done without it to keep the dish feeling lighter. The Croque Madame was also a big portion! It consisted of two slices of bread with cheese and ham in between, more cheese on top, and a sunny-side-up egg. We hadn't expected the sandwich to be so large--it probably would have been enough for us to share. That said, the generous amount of ham and cheese made it a bit too salty for my taste. I noticed the next day that we had been charged for an extra coffee ($3.49), but unfortunately, it was too late to get a refund. When I returned, the staff explained that order numbers reset daily, making it difficult to track, but they were very friendly and offered me a makeup item worth about $4-$5. I chose the potato galette, which I had been eyeing for a while, and it turned out to be a great choice! The galette was crispy on the outside, with a strong onion and seasoning fragrance in every bite. Given the size of the entrées, it would have been too much food for a meal unless I had only ordered a salad. On its own, the galette seems like a great morning item, but it also would have been too much for me had I ordered it along with a pastry for breakfast. I'm extremely happy I got to try it!

Dark Cherry & Greek Yogurt Danish

My wife and I came in on a Sunday for brunch, probably around 10:30/11 AM. There wasn't a wait and the restaurant wasn't too busy so we were able to order and find a table to sit at. Ambiance was nice as most of these restaurants are, nothing out of the ordinary. Always love the French teachings over the speakers in the restrooms, super cool! To eat, I ordered the Breakfast Croissant Sandwich: scrambled eggs with bacon and cheddar on a butter croissant with a side of fresh fruit! In addition to the sandwich we ordered a Dark Cherry and Yogurt Danish. The sandwich was much smaller than I thought it would be--like tiny. I was pretty disappointed, but still ate it. I'd recommend ordering two if you're hungry. The bread was soft and flaky and the small amount of egg and bacon inside it was good too. The plus was definitely the Danish! It was delicious!! Hadn't been here in forever, and probably won't be back for another long while, but if you're in the area, why not?

I'm still a very happy patron of this location. My meals are always beautiful and at the right temperature. Vegetables are fresh. Bakery items are suitably soft or creamy or crunchy. The restaurant is typically clean, and of course, there is plenty of parking available on both sides of the restaurant. Ordering from the app is also consistently successful. I recommend this location.

    Turkey Holiday Meal

We ordered a couple of their holiday plates for Thanksgiving. We got both the ham and turkey options which were delicious. For sides, we tried the mashed potatoes, broccoli, stuffing and green beans. They all weren't that bad, however, I really didn't care for their stuffing. Something about the taste and the apples I didn't like. Both plates came with a small cup of cranberry sauce and mushroom sauce. I absolutely love the taste of their mushroom sauce so we got an extra cup of it. Overall, the plates were a cheap option over the holidays for a nice, festive meal.

    Nick!

Please allow me to preface my review by saying that we love coming here often to allow us to eat outside with our small dog. He loves it too! We really enjoy the breakfasts, sandwiches, salads, entrees and pastries. Lately, the pesto pasta dish I order often has changed. It's very bland now, and just not as good as the previous recipe. I mentioned it to the manager at the location we go to, and he told me that several customers have complained since the change. I enjoy the croissant over the breadstick, but PLEASE go back to the original pesto recipe!

If you are looking for a quick breakfast place with decent food this is your spot. Especially, when other restaurants have over an hour wait for brunch. Food: 4/5: Food is pretty good. I love getting their tomato basil soup. I also ordered their chicken salad croissant because I saw a picture of it on the menu. Sadly it didn't come with the salad that was pictured. Decent croissant sandwich. Service: 4/5 Staff was friendly and we didn't wait long to get our food.

But I enjoy new experiences and menus with eclectic dishes. The menu had few choices for breakfast and I was unsure why it was suggested as a breakfast place. It's actually a good place to eat any time of day! The beautifully decorated patio provided the perfect welcome into their modestly decorated air conditioned restaurant and bar. When I say bar, it's more like a 1950s bar that you can sit at and have a meal at. Although drinks and meals were offered any time of day! The waitress was pleasant and helpful in suggesting add ons with my meal. But being a purist, I wanted to try it as intended. The food arrived in the normal amount of time. When I first saw my mozzarella omelette I was a little surprised! It didn't look anything like what it was described as! Oh well! I thought. Let's give it a try! My taste buds were happily amazed! Could this omelette smothered in mushroom gravy, green "pesto" and bread crumbs be the best omelette I've ever had?! The mushroom tomato gravy was so smooth! Along with the cilantro avocado topping. That tasted more like pesto, gave it the perfect zing! I had wished I the had ordered some toast to dip in the sauce. I could have done without the bread crumbs. But they were easily swept to the side. The amount of mozzarella cheese in this omelette led me to believe it was more of an omelette lasagna than a plain old omelette. This place is definitely a must if you are visiting Austin!

I ordered the migas, and the amount of onions in the dish was overwhelming--so much so that it felt like I had ordered a plate of onions rather than migas. The masa cakes were definitely the standout item and were absolutely delicious. However, the rest of the dish fell short. The sauce was extremely rich, making it difficult to enjoy or finish the meal. That said, the restaurant itself is adorable, and our waiter was fantastic. The service and atmosphere were both great. While this breakfast wasn't a hit for me, I'll still return and stick with favorites like the fried green tomatoes and taquito salad, which were excellent during my previous visit.

One thing I love is that they switch up the steak portion of the menu a few times a year, and it never disappoints. Right now they have the steak au poivre, which is incredible, although I'm still craving their steak frites and hoping it makes a comeback. The escargot and French onion soup are also favorites of mine. At this point, June's has become a staple in our house--usually with a couple of Diet Cokes and either the burger or whatever steak they're featuring. A few of my friends swear by the chicken sandwich (fair warning: it can get a little messy!), the half roasted chicken, and the tuna crudo, so you really can't go wrong no matter what you order. On top of the amazing food, the staff is always incredibly kind and welcoming, which keeps us coming back. It's a small space, with only around eight tables and a tiny kitchen behind the counter. It's a bit hard to locate from outside. When I got there, four of the eight tables were empty but the dirty dishes had not yet been cleared. It took close to 10 minutes for the tables to be bused. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there.
