It's Lockdown, and I received two happy greetings, a bonjour and a hellooooo with a wave. Dillan went overboard by opening a linzer pack so I can purchase a sweet single and gave me a discount. Their water cups are huge. I requested some spinach in my pesto pasta and it was so perfect (and photogenic, too), and not too salty or too garlicky. The bread that comes with the dish tasted very good and is sprinkled with sea salt! Perfect for this dish! It is cool, clean and nicely decorated here. The French music isn't too loud. I order the croque monsieur and my wife ordered the tomato soup/ quiche florentine. My sandwich was really good, covered with toasty cheese and filled with really good ham. I had some of my wife's tomato soup and it was fantastic, i dipped the bread they offer in the soup and it was great. Not sure what has happened to this location. Food was as good as I remember it, but the staff are incredibly rude. Also, cold coffee in the self-serve carafe. First Issue: We ordered two eclairs. The woman looked dead at me and said "What?". I replied "Two eclairs, please". Again, the dead-eyed stare. Again "What?". I pointed at the eclairs again and said "Two please". Her response? "FINE", with as much acid as she could muster. My girlfriend and I had been wanting to try for quite some time, we planned to come for brunch although I'm not sure if they had a specialty menu for it. I wasn't quite expecting the layout that this place had, which was a cafe/bakery style, I was thinking it was more of a sit down restaurant, but still very pleased and liked the unique experience. The guy that was at the front counter was kind to walk us through the experience and told me if I didn't like my meal they'd let me choose another option. Other than him most the other workers spoke very broken English and it was hard to communicate. My girlfriend got a build your own salad and was quickly upset about the amount of dairy free and ended up having to change orders multiple time. I on the other hand got the Chicken Crepe Riviera and it exceeded expectations. Very good and relatively feeing. I will probably return in the future! Such a bummer. We Haven't visited in years and now will stay away. Build your own baguette was some sad lunch meat turkey, a stone cold slice of cheddar, and lettuce/tomato/mayo that were supposed to be held. I have rarely seen a sandwich less appetizing. Except maybe the croque monsieur, which had the correct ingredients but the bread was not only not toasted/grilled, it was soggy, mushy, and uncooked. The salmon dinner was "halfway decent" accordingly to my husband whose food standards are pretty low. Desserts - eclair and chocolate mousse - were just okay. I really really do not like leaving bad reviews. It sounds like whining. But I was so hungry and the meal was so disappointing that I can't help myself. Also when I went in to pick up the food, the owner/manager was at the register. Sitting Right next to the register was a woman who was loudly coughing up a junky lung nom-stop And not covering her mouth. It really put me off my appetite. I can't even tell you how many times I have eaten at this place. It started with their pastries. I used to come for a Napoleon once a month but since they only have strawberry napoleons now I changed to Ann's cake. Oh, then they stopped the Ann's cake so a switch to Sacher torte. I graduated to their breakfasts. A quiche or a spinach pocket with a cup of coffee was the usual. A quick stay here before the office was for their Bran muffins. The next step was their American breakfast with eggs, bacon, a croissant and a slice of tomato. Moving on to their lunch and dinners, I have tried their sandwiches and pasta dishes. Don't even get me started on their Tomato Bisque soup, heavenly. I have never had any bad food at La Madeleines. The employees have always been helpful. Why did I stop coming here so often? The prices got higher and portions got smaller but mostly the food calorie counts. Yes, their dishes are wonderfully flavored with fat and lots of it. La Madeleine used to have a good roasted vegetable sandwich but it has been removed from the latest revision of the menu. With that, the menu has become quite poor in vegetarian selections. The half sandwich half soup combo used to be my staple here. I ordered the pesto pasta without the chicken, which was good. In the past I've enjoyed their tomato basil soup and their coffee. Ordered curbside. Soup and salad. Said 20 minutes. Showed up. Food wasn't ready. Apparently they use Postmates for their ordering so they didn't have my name or phone number. After two trips to the car I got my order. It was wrong. I got 3 mushroom soups instead of the 3 potato soups I was supposed to get. I went in to the store instead of calling. The person at the counter insisted the order was correct. She just kept telling me that I got what I ordered. I told her I'd pay for 3 more soups cause my kids weren't eating mushroom. She acted put out by that. I checked my email for an order confirmation (I had one but it only gave an order number, no details) I thankfully found the browser window where I ordered was still open. It showed potato soup. I called her back over and showed her. She went and got the manager. He said they'd been having issues with orders being wrong. It took 3 times before I finally got brought my entire order. Remember, I only ordered 3 soups and a salad. From the time I ordered until I was able to walk out the door was almost an hour. To top it off, when I got home there were several pieces of slimy lettuce in my very small Cesar salad. I emailed corporate and didn't even get a response. Unless you want to spend an hour waiting for your food and being treated like an idiot and a liar, avoid this place. read more

This is in the kid menu but my 2yr and 7yr old nephews ate all our adult food. I do like the fact that they use fresh apples and slightly roasted with cinnamon. Very healthy choice. I guess I have to thank my nephews ate all my food so I could taste this one. lol -Turkey & Brie: Smoked turkey, caramelized apples & onions, Brie & goat cheese baked on a ciabatta roll. I didn't even get a chance to even taste it because the 7yr old finished it in a second. Judging by the way he ate, I would said it was a very good choice. -Tomato Basil: no need to explain, one of their most popular items and it is amazingly good! Was trying to eat a little healthier than another burger so I got their chicken sandwich with a side soup. For so many reasons I want to give this business a 5+++. Food-amazing! Ambiance- amazing! Selection- amazing! My husband took me for my first time ever two weeks ago and omg!!! I've never disliked a business based on a single employee more. She treated me so awful my husband complained. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and a bowl of French onion soup via their app... What I got was so below standard... the salad had wilted lettuce, some chicken (not shaved like i have had at their Dallas locations) and croutons. There were 2 holders for salad dressing but they were only filled ¼ full. So I had to add my own dressing. There was no grated cheese in the salad. The soup was worse. It was brown, very salty broth with onions. No toasted bread. No cheese. I should have made my own. Years ago we used to come here often like once a week, either after school sweets or weekend brunch. We stopped coming here every since I found a piece of hair in my cold pasta severing. Since pandemic, I thought to give it a try again. Few things had changed here, you could still get your own fountain drinks, coffee but there's no bottle of half&half, skin milk, instead some cheap individual creamer you can find at 3 star motels. Bread slices and jams were bagged in paper bags and were given out when you asked the cashier, but you never know what's in it until you opened it realized it's wheat bread but you wanted a white..... but bakery was still good, we got some dessert to go at the end.
