I come here from time to time with coworkers to have lunch. I love their tomato bisque soup, is so delicious! Staff here knows me already so it makes it easier to order and everyone is so nice anyways. Anywhere you sit is nice, feels very laid back yet intimate. I also like their French dip sandwich is one of my favorites. Not to mention their tasty pastries accompanied by a nice French roast cup of coffee.

This was my first time visiting a La Madeleine and it was on a wonderful day. The sun shining made for the inside of the restaurant to have a soft and warm atmosphere especially thanks to the fun woody architecture and the active fireplace. The employees were kind and helpful and the food tasted pretty good. The bathrooms were also clean. I wished there was a little more flavor to the pumpkin French toast as it didn't stand out over a normal French toast but overall it was good. I also wished that they provided more syrup, silverware, and napkins with our dishes. I understand that it was self serve in that way, but the syrup specifically was limited. Overall good experience and I will probably be back.

No toasted, No Alioli. I was not even asked. Just plain regular bread and burnt bacon and tomato slice. Not enough lettuce and too mu ch Mayo. I wish that someone checks the food whether made it correct or not.

We've been here for breakfast a couple of times, but this was our first time trying a savory lunch! We opted for the beef Stroganoff crepe and the Croque Madame with a sunny-side-up egg. We also ordered a drip coffee and a cappuccino. Our first impression? The portion sizes were large--very hearty and filling! The beef Stroganoff crepe was really nice. It had the same braised beef and mushrooms both on top and folded inside. The savoriness paired well with the soft, warm crepe, and I especially enjoyed the crispy edges. The sour cream sauce added another layer of flavor, though I think I could have done without it to keep the dish feeling lighter. The Croque Madame was also a big portion! It consisted of two slices of bread with cheese and ham in between, more cheese on top, and a sunny-side-up egg. We hadn't expected the sandwich to be so large--it probably would have been enough for us to share. That said, the generous amount of ham and cheese made it a bit too salty for my taste. I noticed the next day that we had been charged for an extra coffee ($3.49), but unfortunately, it was too late to get a refund. When I returned, the staff explained that order numbers reset daily, making it difficult to track, but they were very friendly and offered me a makeup item worth about $4-$5. I chose the potato galette, which I had been eyeing for a while, and it turned out to be a great choice! The galette was crispy on the outside, with a strong onion and seasoning fragrance in every bite. Given the size of the entrées, it would have been too much food for a meal unless I had only ordered a salad. On its own, the galette seems like a great morning item, but it also would have been too much for me had I ordered it along with a pastry for breakfast. I'm extremely happy I got to try it!

I'm still a very happy patron of this location. My meals are always beautiful and at the right temperature. Vegetables are fresh. Bakery items are suitably soft or creamy or crunchy. The restaurant is typically clean, and of course, there is plenty of parking available on both sides of the restaurant. Ordering from the app is also consistently successful. I recommend this location.

My wife and I came in on a Sunday for brunch, probably around 10:30/11 AM. There wasn't a wait and the restaurant wasn't too busy so we were able to order and find a table to sit at. Ambiance was nice as most of these restaurants are, nothing out of the ordinary. Always love the French teachings over the speakers in the restrooms, super cool! To eat, I ordered the Breakfast Croissant Sandwich: scrambled eggs with bacon and cheddar on a butter croissant with a side of fresh fruit! In addition to the sandwich we ordered a Dark Cherry and Yogurt Danish. The sandwich was much smaller than I thought it would be--like tiny. I was pretty disappointed, but still ate it. I'd recommend ordering two if you're hungry. The bread was soft and flaky and the small amount of egg and bacon inside it was good too. The plus was definitely the Danish! It was delicious!! Hadn't been here in forever, and probably won't be back for another long while, but if you're in the area, why not?

We ordered a couple of their holiday plates for Thanksgiving. We got both the ham and turkey options which were delicious. For sides, we tried the mashed potatoes, broccoli, stuffing and green beans. They all weren't that bad, however, I really didn't care for their stuffing. Something about the taste and the apples I didn't like. Both plates came with a small cup of cranberry sauce and mushroom sauce. I absolutely love the taste of their mushroom sauce so we got an extra cup of it. Overall, the plates were a cheap option over the holidays for a nice, festive meal.

If you are looking for a quick breakfast place with decent food this is your spot. Especially, when other restaurants have over an hour wait for brunch. Food: 4/5: Food is pretty good. I love getting their tomato basil soup. I also ordered their chicken salad croissant because I saw a picture of it on the menu. Sadly it didn't come with the salad that was pictured. Decent croissant sandwich. Service: 4/5 Staff was friendly and we didn't wait long to get our food.

By default, my go to lunch / dinner has always been Honest Mary's every time I come to Trader Joes for a grocery run but I wanted to try something different today and found la Madeleine just a few minutes away. This place has so much character! I love the layout of the restaurant and really appreciate the uniforms that the staff wears. Everything feels really authentic I feel like I've walked into a portal and ended up in Europe somewhere. On to the food: Chicken la Madeleine - balsamic-marinated chicken topped with creamy wild mushroom sauce with side of broccoli and rice. The chicken breast tastes surprising soft and pairs really well with the wild mushroom sauce! The mushroom sauce has a strong flavor but not so strong that it's overpowering the meal. The rice could be done better as it is kind of mushy. The broccoli has no seasoning at all but my tip is to dip that broccoli into the mushroom sauce or completely submerge it into the Cream of Mushroom soup! Then it just tastes amazing! Cream of Mushroom - This soup has great flavors and is one of the best I've tried. Take that side of broccoli and dip in the soup for a great creamy vegetable experience! Quiche Florentine (spinach) - This quiche here is the highlight of the meal. The inside of the quiche is super fluffy and seasoned very well. The sides have the right crisp and I think this was baked to perfection. I've had some bad experiences with quiches in Austin area because it's always so salty but this one here is just right! Classic Strawberry Napoleon - This dessert is very flaky and I recommend just grabbing it by hand with the paper wrapped around it and bite it rather than use any utensils. I think it tastes just ok. It's not too sweet but I removed the top layer of white sugary topping. The staff forgot some items while I was eating but she was very apologetic about it and all is forgiven. I'll definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

New items! How exciting: I had not been here for a couple of months. This time I decided to try their matcha- it comes topped with a chocolate pistachios cream (this was a bit too much for me, my daughter liked it) and the matcha was also too sweet for me, but very flavorful. For our main dish I ordered the shrimp and grits, and my daughter ordered biscuits and gravy. My dish had 4 small shrimp (which I ate) a lot of anduille sausage bits, and a lot of flavorful sauce over these soupy cheesy grits that was not what I expected. It was served as a "soup" with a spoon. There was some toasted bread on the side of the bowl. While everything was very flavorful, I did not like the soupy consistence, it was unexpected for me. My daughter's biscuits and gravy, on the other hand, needed more gravy... she liked the dish but she felt her gravy was too little for the serving. Then she also ordered a half order (1) pancake with cinamon roll French toast and we took that home. It had good flavor! Overall, I enjoyed the food, the flavors were good, the prices have definitely gone up a LOT. 3 stars for good flavor as expected- but I was not "blown away"... but yes of course I would come again! Enjoy!

And if my bank account would cooperate, I'd happily be drinking a matcha from Cafe du Bliss every single day of the week. This little family-owned café has completely stolen my heart. First things first--it's tiny. Like, blink-and-you've-missed-all-the-seats tiny. If your goal is to settle in with your drink, get there when they open at 9:00 because those seats disappear faster than free samples at Costco. (I've also noticed people walking in and immediately grabbing drinks that are already waiting for them, so apparently online ordering is a thing. My next personal mission is figuring that out because I clearly need this knowledge in my life.) Now... the drinks. Every single one we've tried has been exceptional. My personal happy place is their matcha lineup. The Strawberry Matcha? Outstanding. The Strawberry Cloud Matcha? Equally fantastic. The matcha is beautifully vibrant without that bitter, overly grassy punch that turns so many people away. The strawberry complements it instead of overpowering it, creating a drink that's balanced, refreshing, and somehow disappears far too quickly. I keep telling myself I'm going to branch out and order something different... but then I see that beautiful green matcha again and all my self-control leaves the building. The Banana Matcha Latte is officially next on my list. I also "borrowed" a few sips from my twins' drinks (that's what moms do). The Mascarpone Tiramisu Latte? Dangerously delicious. The Dalgona Brown Sugar Latte? Equally impressive. Honestly, at this point I'm starting to believe they simply don't know how to make a bad drink. The only menu item that didn't completely win me over was the Strawberry Banana Croffle. The croffle itself was lovely, but for my taste, the chocolate pushed it over the sweetness line. Without it, I think it would have been just about perfect. (For those wondering: A croffle is a Korean croissant + waffle dessert.) And here's the thing... One menu item that wasn't my favorite doesn't even come close to changing my opinion of this place. Not even a little. The drinks are consistently outstanding. The service has been warm every single visit. The fact that it's a family-owned business makes me want to support them even more. Finding a café that gets me genuinely excited to try my way through the menu is rare. Cafe du Bliss has done exactly that. Now if you'll excuse me, I suddenly have an overwhelming craving for a Strawberry Matcha...

Our server suggested a couple of different items, we opted for the Farmhouse hash, which pretty much covered any "cooked breakfast" cravings we had. We also got an order of the Million Dollar bacon, so we left pretty much full for the rest of the day. The food and the coffee were spot on, and even as the Saturday morning rush started, we were never made to feel that we needed to clear out for new customers. This is definitely going to be our goto breakfast spot when we visit Austin. Also for those interested, the restrooms are individual and well kept. You know, in case the coffee kicks in!

**Extremely Disappointing Visit**…read more My visit today was extremely disappointing. I was promptly greeted and seated, and unfortunately, that is where the good customer service ended. After being seated, I was not acknowledged by anyone. I was not offered a "good morning," water, coffee, or even asked if I needed anything. I sat at my table for approximately 15 minutes before I finally got up and asked to speak with a manager. What made the situation even more frustrating was watching customers who arrived **10-15 minutes after me** get acknowledged, served water, and offered coffee while I continued to sit there without any attention. The staff repeatedly walked past my table on their way to the kitchen. I noticed several of them look directly toward my table, yet no one stopped to acknowledge me or provide service. At that point, it was very difficult not to feel as though I was being intentionally overlooked. When I spoke with the manager, she explained that there were internal issues between the waitstaff that were contributing to the problem in my section. I understand that restaurants can have internal staffing challenges, but those issues should never become the customer's problem. Whatever was happening behind the scenes, I was the customer sitting there without service. I also want to be honest about something that made this experience particularly uncomfortable. I was the only person of my race that I noticed in the restaurant. I cannot say with certainty that race had anything to do with how I was treated, and I don't want to make an accusation without evidence. However, **I can say how the experience made me feel**. I felt ignored, overlooked, and singled out. Customer Service Index (CSI), customer satisfaction, and reviews are extremely important to businesses and their corporate offices. Experiences like this are exactly how a restaurant loses a customer who otherwise may have returned and recommended the establishment to others. I don't expect special treatment. I expect the same basic courtesy and level of service that every customer deserves: a greeting, acknowledgment, water, coffee, and reasonable attention after being seated. Unfortunately, that did not happen today, and it completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable breakfast experience. I hope management and the corporate office take this seriously--not simply as one unhappy customer's complaint, but as an opportunity to examine what happened, why it happened, and how situations like this can be prevented in the future.

Before leaving, we got a bag of the fresh baked pastries and they were amazing. The dining experience was quite good but unfortunately, we spent a fair amount of our time swatting flies away. Not a good sign. It was only my first time there so maybe that was just a fluke. Overall, very attractive place, very friendly servers and amazing food (except for the bacon). I will definitely return to try their lunch and dinner menu.

Decided to make a reservation for one for a solo birthday celebration. If you're coming on a Monday…read moreyou definitely a reservation. I was sat at the bar which was nice as I got to meat new people and have exceptional service. The mussels and frites is such a great deal and a fun thing to do since the mussels are cooked different every week. Monday is also half price bottles of wine and they have several great options at very reasonable price points. Since they are a cafe I decided to get an espresso martini for dessert and it was made with tequila. I was surprised by the beignets coming out and also surprised by how good they are. They are airy and even reheat well at home! I will definitely be back on a Monday but also to try other menu items.
