La Mariposa Flowers + Veronica = AMAZING!! Due to a recent death in our family, we needed two arrangements to be designed for a cemetery headstone. Because of nighttime visitors, (deer) foraging throughout the cemetery, we needed high-quality artificial flowers for these arrangements. Since we live in California, I had no idea who to contact in Texas, so I took to Google and Yelp. I checked out a few florists, then decided to contact La Mariposa Flowers. Their many Yelp reviews were very positive and encouraging. I spoke with Veronica, explained what I was looking for (or what I thought I was looking for), and she sent me pictures of several artificial flowers/succulents that were available...she even sent a photo with an artificial white rose next to a real white rose for comparison. By the time we talked, texted, and sent pictures back and forth, I had a totally different vision of what I wanted...I wanted HER vision...two beautiful woodsy arrangements...and I needed them delivered and installed in the stationary vases on the headstone...by the next day at 1:00 pm! I'm sure Veronica worked overtime to get these big, beautiful arrangements finished on time. She delivered them to the cemetery exactly when she said she would, and sent me pictures of the finished product on the headstone! So nice of her since I couldn't be there to see them in person. A family member conveyed that they were, indeed, gorgeous! Disappointed in floral arrangement I sent. I called and ordered their colorful arrangement and asked to make sure arrangement included purple carnations like the pic which they did. However the center focal point of arrangement was a rust color aster which I think should only be used as a filler here and there. Have been ordering from this florist for well over 10 years. In fact, most of the posts on their FB page raging about how wonderful they are, are from me. Today I ordered a specific arrangement from their website...well, over $100, as usual, for Mother's Day. My partner sent me a picture of the arrangement, saying she liked it very much. When I saw the picture, I told her that it WAS pretty, but NOTHING AT ALL LIKE THE ARRANGEMENT THAT I ORDERED. Called the florist and asked her what the name of the arrangement was that I had ordered, and she said, "Well, the 'Sweet and Sassy". I agreed. Mentioned my concern, and was told, "We don't have anything by that name on our website." I told her, "I am looking right at it...if you type in "La Mariposa Flowers, Webster, TX". Argued with me saying that is not their website, that that is the OLD owner's website. My partner does NOT like roses, and I have never, in all of my years with this florist ordered an arrangement with roses. "Veronica", I guess the new owner came on the phone and was amazingly nasty to me. Basically called me a liar, saying that I was not looking at their website (which I read directly from), said that she couldn't see why I was so angry (which I wasn't until the associate before her tried to make me think I was crazy). I asked what she thought the "Sweet and Sassy" arrangement was supposed to look like, if she didn't have it on her website. She said that they just made something up. I said that I found it on the pull down menu under. NOW, HOW COULD I HAVE MADE THAT UP....I HAVE NO IDEA. She said that was an old website that belonged to the last owner, and I said, "Then you need to change that". I asked if they didn't have an arrangement with that name, why didn't they call me and let me know? She said it was MY FAULT that I didn't specify that I didn't want roses!!! I ordered from a picture of an arrangement with NO ROSES!!! In fact, after placing the order, I called them and told them that if they didn't have the specific flowers for this particular arrangement, to please call me, so that we could discuss that to swap them out with, which HAS happened in the past, and I never had an issue with it. NEVER AGAIN!!! NO PROFESSIONALISM SHOWN, NO OWNERSHIP OF THEIR OVERSIGHT AND ABSOLUTE RUDENESS!!!! Veronica and her staff are absolutely amazing. Not only was her pricing reasonable and within my budget but the end result was breathtaking. She came to our venue (beach house/ocean view) and set up the arch and centerpieces. It was very windy out so there was a concern that the arch would fall over. I was a little panicky at first but she stayed as long as she needed to ensure everything was secured. She called to check in a couple hours after and everything was fine and intact. She genuinely cares for her customers and her flowers. I'm sure there are other competitors but I've never met a florist that passionately cares for their flowers and customers like she does. Excellent customer service through out and she also provided my husband a military discount. I would give more than five stars if I was allowed to. I was also charged for items that they did not include and then they tried to explain that they had put more expensive flowers in to compensate but this was after the deilvery was made so it was BS. I had the worst experience with this place, I was treated very very rudely and the experience was so bad that I am writing a review for the first time in my life. I stopped by in this store with my fiancee to talk about my wedding flowers, she was not there and she called me back...but unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to talk with her about my wedding flowers because she didn't ask (without knowing anything about me, anything about my colors, anything about the reception place)...she talked 15-20 minutes non-stop, mostly about some flower prices that I didn't understand and wasn't interested in. I tried to say that I had a specific plan for my flowers and I just wanted a quote but I couldn't. She completely talked over me, interrupted me the whole time, then she repeatedly asked my budget (obsessively almost), when I wanted to call her back after checking with my fiancee about the budget, her answer was "no, you have to tell me now honey" and the attitude was so rude.. (Among the places that I checked, this was the only place wanted the budget before asking what I want, the other places said they will send the quote and work with my budget). I asked what was the point of her giving me a quote, if I am going to give you a budget, without consulting what I wanted. When I said this, she said something pretty rude and hung up on me. I don't think anyone deserves this kind of treatment and I don't know if I want someone that rude has a hand in my wedding flowers. read more
