Food is good, consistent, service is quick and they always have new options for specials! Order it for lunch at work often!

What a great pub! I came here on a weeknight to support my friend who was singing in a karaoke contest. It was on the upper level and was absolutely packed! Despite how crowded it was, our server was very attentive. At one point it was standing room only and she carefully maneuvered through the large crowd with all of the orders and prompt. Refills. The vibe was great, everybody in close quarters mingling and meeting new people. In Oder to get a seat, we had to poach on existing patrons tables, but everyone was fine with it. The food is exceptional for pub food, and the menu is diverse. I had the beef slider special , the white trash cocktail and a few long islands. Everything was fab. I will definitely be returning to try more items and enjoy the friendly ambiance. read more

We came here on Saturday to watch the Michigan football game. It was at home in Ann Arbor but I was surprised by the lack of people here! I felt like I was the only one cheering because there very little people in the restaurant! But, we got two seats at the bar right away and our food came out within 10 minutes. If you're coming here for unique food, I would say this isn't the place. The menu is pretty classic bar food with your average bar taste and atmosphere. My party got chicken tenders and fries and a burger. Four stars because I thought the chicken tenders were no different than any frozen tenders I could buy at a store and make at home but not complaining because I didn't have to cook them! Overall, a good gameday experience besides the lack of fans there. The TVs were in a good position for any table to be able to see and the volume was good. Audio was even piped into the restroom speakers which was appreciated. Classic bar food, friendly staff, and clean space. read more

I wanted to like this place. Good atmosphere & always busy. Good food. However, both times service was awful! I was given my sandwich without the au jus side. 15+ minutes later I'm given my dip & he even asked if I had any sandwich left. I replied just a cold one. He shrugged & asked if I needed anything else. I said money off my bill. Nope. Didn't care his service was awful. He clearly forgot to enter the side & brushed it off like no big deal. The other time, we were forgot about for 45 minutes. Won't ever go back until they can hire competent staff. read more

We stumbled on this beautiful town with a great local pub. The staff is friendly and the food portions are perfect. I had the delicious French dip sandwich. If you're in the area, stop in Dexter and eat here. read more

First time customer...never again will I return. Here's why: 1. the salmon was overpriced and lacked any taste or seasoning. 2. About 10 minutes after I left, I had a terrible upset stomach. Clearly it was the salmon. 3. Someone stole my cc information and decided to have a party with my card information. I went through hell getting his taken care of. There were 17 pending transactions but thankful the Visa card people blocked those charges but I was out $150+ dollars. You have someone working at your facility who is dishonest and frankly should be fired. I called your pub. They said they would contact me, review the security tapes and I never heard back. Shameful business! I hope you have the day you deserve! read more

Suppose to have avocado, Cole slaw and jalapeño.... well, look at my pic and see it had none of the above. No napkins, no silverware, no water, the guy in the U of M shirt behind the bar yelling at staff.... Won't be back. Don't come if it's busy. Wait staff was excellent. read more

We stopped in during a Wednesday dinner rush - had to wait about a half hour for inside seating. Waiting by the front door seeing the staff carrying food out to the tables and then also bringing dishes in showed they were patient, hard-working folks. Our waitress was so pleasant and cordial as well, and our food didn't take as long to arrive as we had expected. We noted the many specials they had and will be back next Wednesday to try their Mexican fare. Thank you for a very pleasant evening. read more

Place was packed just after noon on a Tuesday. Got a bar seat and a few minutes passed before I got the server's attention, but once I did my beer and food arrived quickly. I'd ordered the house Cuban sandwich, one of the day's specials. Can't complain about the portion, but the pulled pork seemed overly smoky, I thought, and rather dry. A little more of the chipotle mayo might have been a good idea. Fries were crisp and tender. Overall atmosphere here is cozy and clean. Had my family's Holiday party here on Saturday, and am so happy that we did. They set us up in the upstairs room where it was pretty much just my family. It was decorated really nice. I love, love, love the deradnaught hamburger here in all its messy deliciousness!! Fried egg, onion straws, bacon, beer cheese, pretzel roll. What's not to love? I've had it with the onion rings both times I've been here, and I will be back again for it. We also added a little more grease to our meal by getting the fried pickle chips, and those pickles were fantastic!...infinitely better than the jarred pickles one gets in the grocery store. The only disappointing thing about my latest meal was the caramel apple martini (or some such variety). While I liked the taste of it, I felt like it was too much butterscotch topping and not enough drink for the beverage. Had I not ordered the martini, I would have given my meal 5 stars! That martini won't keep me from coming back, though. I'm hoping to be able to try something other than that amazing hamburger I've now had twice! read more

Seems the service issues were resolved today. Went for early Tuesday lunch. Plenty of staff, all working non-stop. Order from the Tuesday lunch specials menu: chicken tacos. What happened was expected: fried chicken cutlet in a soft flour tortilla. Rather good and definitely a tenth generation European Midwest immigrant interpretation of south of the border cuisine. Dexter had continued to develop its "cool town" feel. This is a standard place for adults wanting bar food plus some extras with seven large screens focused mostly on sports. read more

I just discovered this spot...and enjoyed an Outdoor lunch on a 40 something degree February afternoon. They have a pretty diverse menu with lots of choices, but I opted for a burger and a Bloody Mary. Both were amazing! The Bloody Mary was loaded with celery, pickle and olives with just the right level of peppery spice. The burger was fresh and tasty served with hot fries. read more

Dexter's Pub was an excellent surprise for me! The food here is great, the shrimp scampi and pizzas are the best I found in the area, and offered at a more reasonable price point than most other locations. Beer selection is decent, but they could definitely use more wine options. Getting seated can be a slow and painful process, but service once seated is usually pretty good. Atmosphere downstairs is far superior to the atmosphere upstairs. read more

Peter was awesome to work with! I called up asking about reservations and he hooked us up. Went on a Saturday night at 5:00, before the play at the Encore Theater. There were 11 of us, we were all really happy with our food. I know some got the brisket Mac n cheese, chicken apple salad, pot roast (Saturday special), brisket sandwich, blt sandwich....our waitress was great, stayed on top of drinks, making sure we were all ok & accommodated us the whole time we were there. Whenever we are in town we stop in. This time service wasn't the best. Hopefully next time.

I've been here many times, The food is really good , great patio for the summertime. but after talking to the owner I cannot continue to support or ever go in this place again. Owner is very racists and owns apartments and will only rent to certain races of people. Also he is a Trump supporter. not a good person in general after talking to him. Surprisingly good black bean burger wrap (sort of a circular burrito based around a patty). Fun sauce, maybe cole slaw? It's nice to have an inventive veggie option. Decent coffee, lots of beer on tap (from Labatt's to Bell's). Honest old-timey feel --- if you ignore the 4 large-screen TVs, the rest of the place could be from the 70s or 50s. Yes, there's some Styrofoam cups for kids' milk, but the coffee's in ceramic. My daughter was craving a grilled cheese, and the cook went off-the-menu to whip one up; simple American cheese, but perfectly cooked and went over well. I ordered a California Ruben and the waitress told me they are out of turkey, on a Tuesday. I said I would take avocado instead. The sandwich comes out, barely grilled, cheese cold and partially melted with a couple of slivers of avocado -which was my sub for the turkey. The waitress charges me an extra $3 on top of the missing turkey and refused to remove the extra charge. Sad sandwich, poor service. Fries were old. I know this place is very well liked by Dexter residents, but let's step it up. My sandwich had NO LOVE. Cooks need to learn how to use the grill. Bummer dude. I would say the beer is great but there is always a fly landing in my drink and I had to ask for a replacement. Bar manager is sweetheart though. read more

Stopped in with the fellas for dinner. The outdoor seating was filled but they were able to put us in the back patio. Not as scenic or a people watching spot but we didnt want to wait for a table. All of our food was good. I had the ribs with the mixed veggies (good) instead of fries. Slaw was just ok but the main dish made up for it. We also had the Dreadnaught sandwich, asparagus with chicken, pizza with pulled pork on top, and a few burgers. Rhylie took good care of us a provided great service. The Dexter Pub fits the bill for a homey, local, somewhat seedy pub where if you come here enough, Yes, probably everyone will know your name. The bar is cozy with a couple tvs to enjoy the evening's games. The food is quite good, offering a generous spread of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, BBQ, and assorted entrees. The waitstaff is familiar with regulars and almost to the point of inappropriate for newcomers, who may be surprised to overhear small quarrels between staff. Awful experience. Our waiter was so nice but the owner was a rude piece of shit. When my mother politely expressed that her dish didn't look like what was described on the menu he rudely told her to read the menu word for word next time. What a surprise! On Sunday afternoon we stopped in for the first time (despite living in Ann Arbor all our lives) for a post kayaking hike and expected a run of the mill pub food experience.
