The food was great, the service even better, Joleth gave me some recommendations and it was delicious, also she was very friendly, I would definitely recommend this place the ambience is pleasant as well, I'm from California and definitely will come back again I hope she will be working here for her to recommend me more options!!! Thank you so much Joleth !!!!!

La Masa is AMAZING. Best food I had on my trip to Wisconsin! Lily is so so fabulous and such a great server. She was honest and gave great recommissions. The spicy Caesar salad is a must and the shrimp curry was such a good choice! You have to stop by if you're in town!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Immediately upon walking in you can tell this restaurant did their big one with the lighting and layout of the place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My friends and I were able to sit at the bar and order drinks while we waited for our table. They made me a refreshing mojito. While ordering, the staff was friendly and answered our questions as there are lots of options to chose from for their empanadas! We got at least five different flavors to try and share and none of them were disappointing! I also loved the side order of fries, they were super skinny and crunchy which makes them easy to scarf down. The Wisco corn (not pictured) was all of our fav!! I have recommended this place to many people since.

I've been to La Masa several times, so it's safe to say I'm a fan. I'm always torn between trying new empanadas versus getting my usual (since they're already so delicious). So I usually compromise with a mix. And I'm invariably impressed. Also I love how they brand each one so you know the inside contents. La Masa is a big recommendation to anyone looking for more unique foods in a hip area of town or on game day!

I've been to this restaurant multiple times, and I've never been disappointed. I also love how I've never had an issue with seating or long wait, even though it's a popular dining spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The low, gentle lighting gives the place a very chill and elevated casual dining experience- great for a date night, grabbing drinks/food with friends, and solo dining (multiple bar seats available as well).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My favorite menu items have been the BAKED AJÍ QUESO DIP and SPICY BLACK BEAN DIP (comes with perfectly grilled ciabatta and crisp red bell pepper, jicama, and green apple. My favorite empanadas are Argentine beef, chicken tinga, spinach and cheese, and grilled chicken pesto.

They pack their empanadas with meat! Most places skimp on the filling. Not this one. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice bar to sit at and enjoy your food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff is friendly and attentive. I didn't care for the coleslaw side dish. But the sauces for the empanadas were great.

Wow, such a great meal deal. 3 empanadas, got the spicy Caesar salad that was DELISH! The carnitas, chicken tinga, and cookie dough empanadas were the ones I chose! All were sooooo yummy. Fresh, and well filled. Genuinely one of the best deals you can get. 100% will be coming back.

Food is fantastic - 5 stars. Salads are huge, pork carnitas sandwich was amazing - probably the most tender carnitas I've had, and very flavorful. Huge selection of empanadas - my favorite were the barbacoa and the mushroom ones, although honestly all were good. The shrimp curry empanadas had lots of shrimp pieces and a good amount of heat. Nice drink list - the foamy margarita (with egg white) was a nice touch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Most tables are high tops - keep that in mind if dining with others who require lower seating[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . I would have given 5 stars if not for the subpar service. Our server rarely came by to check on us and did not refill our waters even once. My husband ordered a pale ale beer which arrived looking weirdly opaque with a color never seen before in any style of beer. There was definitely something wrong with it/the keg. There was not one word of apology.

Seems unassuming for empanadas, but exceeded expectations. the dough is made in house and takes the empanadas to the next level, they have several vegetarian options, each with layers of flavor. We were there just after lunch rush and everything came out fast, and the staff is friendly. Most of the seating seems to be high tops, but not all, so might not be the best option it is during a busy time and needing traditional seating. The space is nothing special, looks kind of like a dive bar, with some games on the TV.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Met a friend at this cute cozy restaurant for a quick lunch and this spot was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We split the queso appetizer and the burrata. Both were delish, I love love love their queso. It's thick and decadent and just perfect. I really enjoy the veggies the queso comes with as well, the jicama is my personal favorite. The burrata was light and creamy just so good. Our server was super friendly and quick. It was in and out and we left full and happy.

La Masa has some of my favorite empanadas in the city! It's conveniently located on the East Side and offers dine in, take out and take and bake options. I've only ever went for empanadas and drinks- so all I can speak too (for now). We love to split the platter which is 12 empanadas for $5 off- definitely worth it (especially if you want to try a little bit of everything). My favorite empanadas are the chicken tinga and carnitas verde with the chimichurri sauce - so fresh tasting and full of flavor! Also love the dessert empanada as well. They offer quite a wide variety of choices/ flavor combinations to cater to all. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I have dined in, staff was super kind to us and I really enjoyed my experience/ the overall ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would definitely recommend trying out La Masa for any occasion!

Finally stopped in and dined at La Masa. Overall, I enjoyed all the empanada flavors but the non-traditional ones truly stood out. The mushroom truffle parmesan, Cuban, and peasant pot pie were fun and tasty. Each bite was packed with creativity and flavor. The traditional flavors were good but not as memorable. A nice touch is that when you order three empanadas, they come with a small side. I decided to upgrade to the spicy Caesar salad--because you know *healthy*. For dipping sauces, I tried the Ají Amarillo, which was a creamy spicy sauce (not spicy imo), though the classic chimichurri was equally good. Next time, I'll have to sample the creamy garlic lime and pineapple pico--both sound delicious! The restaurant also had a decent amount of cocktails to pair with the meal. I was able to snag a reservation the week of, but the place filled up quickly on a Friday evening. It was nice sitting down to enjoy the atmosphere rather than grabbing these tasty bites on the go during Brady Street Fest. I hope to see the menu continue to seasonally change because I would love to try some more creative pockets of filling.

They do a tremendous job of explaining the menu and food options in detail, and ensure you have a great experience from start to finish. The drinks? Nothing short of amazing. They vary the featured cocktails menu every 8 weeks, so most likely you'll get a different experience every time you go. However you can always get your classic cocktails like Margaritas, French 75 and Martinis. They also can do any drink NA which is the first of its kind in the US. They have an option called dealers choice, where you can pick the spirit and flavor profile of the drink you want: spicy, sour, floral, smoky etc. no limits! You write down on a card what you want and they craft you a cocktail based on your selections. They also offer a variety of food pairings to go along with the select, featured drink you order. We got spring rolls, a braised, pork infused doughnut, and an incredible bone broth that still has me in a tizzy. Fair warning: it's small and difficult to get a reservation - don't try your luck walking in, this place is a hot ticket and you won't be able to get in without a resy, which could be weeks or months out. This is a true gem of a cocktail bar, and is as good as anything you would find in New York or Chicago.

We stopped here after dinner, so we stuck mostly with the cocktails. Unfortunately, nothing on the seasonal menu really stuck out to me. I stuck with the "traditional" cocktails (spicy watermelon bubblegum, and then banana daiquiri). Hubs went for the halo halo food (which was so cute! All the typical ingredients but served in cubist fashion), and the paired drink. The paired drink was supposed to have different layers of flavor, but they all mixed together quite a bit. Tasty, just not the "layered" experience we thought. I think they almost do themselves a disservice comparing themselves to the aviary - that is a crazy high bar to meet. Granted, maybe we would have been more impressed if we had more of the seasonal cocktails despite them not seeming interesting? Probably wouldnt go out of my way to go here again, but it is a cool vibe and the cocktails were good.

Unless you get here right when they open it early in the holiday season, I would expect a crowd. The drink menu is so fun with holiday themed drinks served in matching glassware. You can even purchase the glass/mug for an additional fee. A lot of the cocktails looked to be batched cocktails which help with the bartender's efficiency. Highly recommend making this place a holiday stop. I'm also curious to stop in after the holidays to experience it without all the holiday decor.

They had several seasonal cocktails in special festive cups, which you could also buy to take home. I got the Cheery Cherry Chocosaurus, which was good, but pricey for what it was. Almost all the seasonal drinks were $15 each and didn't seem too big. The venue itself is medium sized, but feels crammed quickly. There's more people let in at a time than there is seating, so you have to move fast to get a seat. I'll likely come back during the summer to try something else.

It'll turn you into a cheese connoisseur if you're not already one. I fell in love with Gouda cheese as soon as I took a bite. They made it into a gluten free spread so we had four types of cheese in lieu of the seasoned dried meat and gluten free crackers. The place is inviting, has nice decorations, great for going on a date or a casual catch up with your bestie. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. While the menu is limited and not cheap, staff were very friendly and walked us through everything before we selected a couple of things to try. Pretty much all of the cheeses and accoutrements were fantastic! One of the cheese on our plate was the espresso version of Bellavitano, which happens to be one of my favorites, so that was a nice little bonus for me. In addition to the board, we also went with the ricotta bites, which featured one sweet and one savory option, both of which we also really liked. The shop is cozy and if this was somewhere that I lived walking distance from, I could totally see myself coming here fairly regularly and having a little cheese and ambiance. During our time there we saw both couples on dates and old friends gathering for a drink and a nosh, all of which I found just wonderful. Really the only thing keeping this from a five star review was that the side items, such as the crackers were not plentiful enough for the cheese. I know that ratio can be hard to nail but it was not quite on the mark here, unfortunately. However, that would not be enough to prevent me from returning!
