This is a bootleg version of "La Michoacana!" We stopped bought ice cream last night from this location. Instantly, you could tell that something was a little off. I love coming to this La michoacana, been coming here for a long time I would usually get their popsicles or their agua frescas. I like this particular store because every time I have come here it's so clean, and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. This time I got this new maruchan esquite with hot Cheetos they were advertising and I was not at all disappointed. I usually go for the water base paletas. My favorites by far are guabaya (guava), maracuya (passion fruit), and jamaica. I especially like the jamaica because it's more sour than sweet. I recently ordered their limon y pepino agua fresca on a very hot day but I do not recommend it. It's quite sweet and doesn't have much limon or pepino flavor. Stick to the paletas here unelss you want to be disappointed. Service here has been pleasant every single time. What a treat! We were really impressed by the variety and number of flavors of icecream and popsicles! We got a butter pecan and pistachio popsicle and enjoyed both. Welcome to the neighborhood! I was finally able to visit this place and fell in love! The parking lot is pretty busy, but you can usually find a spot. The exterior is inviting and the inside is lit well with a pink and white theme. There are plenty of places to sit and a huge selection of product. This place is what wet dreams are made of. I am so in love. I dont know what everything is called, so luckily the employees were patient with me and accepted my pointing to the paletas (popsicles?). First I tried a mango-chamoy paleta. It was only $1.99. I was going to just eat this while driving home but I couldnt wait. Literally after I paid I stood outside and just ate my popsicle. It was beyond delicious. So then I had to go back in for more. I got 2 scoops of ice cream in a cup. A scoop of tamarindo and a scoop of chile-mango. I asked for a lid but the ice cream was too tall for the lid to fit on. Not a problem, as I was going to eat this while driving anyhow lol. I also pulled up a pic from someone elses review of this great looking strawberry thing. I showed the lady and she said "okay, the strawberries and crema" or something like that. Took that home and ohhhh man. Strawberries were great. That cream stuff was great. And I dont even like shredded coconut or raisins but those were great too! I paid like $7 for these 2 items. I was initially surprised at how big and clean this place was. Its such a long counter with so many different treats. Blessed is my life now that there is a Michoacana less then ten minutes away from me. I love this place. The elotes are good and so is the mangoneadas! 5/5 STARS Order: mango, guava, passionfruit, strawberry, watermelon, pineapple, lime, pina colada, etc This is one of the best places for mexican ice cream in southern california. HOWEVER, i am only recommending this specific location, as i know that there are quite a few of these shops around. Ive tried other michoacana shops and they just dont taste as good because the ice cream is too watery (i know theres no cream in the fruit flavors, i still call it ice cream). My favorite flavors are definitely the mango, guava, and passion fruit. The guava has fruit chunks, but also hard seeds in it so keep in mind if you have sensitive teeth. The mango is smooth, creamy, and full of that sweet ripe mango flavor. If you want something more tart, passion fruit (maracuya) is the way to go. Its refreshing and provides a nice tartness unlike theyre other fruit flavors. This flavor also has seeds in it, but theyre crunchy and not too hard. My dad always gets the large mangonada. You can choose up to 3 diff ice cream flavors and they top it off with chamoy sauce, tajin powder, lime, mango chunks, and a chamoy candy stick. I highly recommend that you stick to the fruit flavors only, as my family and friends hasnt really had much luck with liking the non-fruit ice cream flavors. They do offer a unique selection of non fruit flavors like starbucks coffee, rice pudding, and creamy cheese. They also have some agua frescas, paletas (fruit ice popsicles), and salty snacks that they make, though ive never ordered any from here. The price is fair, the scoops are big, and service is always nice here. My only complaint, though small, is that the fruit ice creams can sometimes be a tad bit too sweet. This is why i dont usually finish more than one scoop per sitting because it just feels like a lot of sugar. Anyways, this place will continue to be my go-to for mexican fruit ice creams.
